Another day, another 4-5 accounts writing reviews of all 10's on Start Up :) that just joined MDL today. NJH and…
Some people seriously need to get a life. Nobody even cares about the MDL rating lmfao. Do they think their favorite actors are gonna look at the rating here and be disappointed or what?
from the article:“I thought for a moment that perhaps the writer meant to write Ji Pyung as the male lead but…
Exactly. As I already said, it's just click-bait. Plus, I don't see any other sources besides koreaboo and allkpop reporting on this "issue" and those have never been reliable sources. If it were serious, you'd hear more about it.
Just fyi, never take koreaboo as a reliable news source. This is obviously just a click-bait article since KSH and Start-Up is the most trending topic right now.
Yay! Thanks for the info. One more reason to watch this drama haha.
And I correct myself, the gay character has a crush on the second ML, not the second ML's friend, I got confused with the actors. I now edited my above comment.

I just found a talk video with the main cast with Eng Sub on jtbc's official YouTube channel, haven't watched it yet though, but they might talk about their characters and the story more in detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7lzDhwdIzw
This is my first time seeing a subtitled video on jtbc's YouTube channel, that's pretty interesting. I wonder what made them subtitle it.

I just took another look at the relationship chart and there aren't any lines for the first lead couple that could indicate a love triangle. There's only Kim Seon Ho who could come in between them as the FL's ex, but he's only a cameo, so no need to worry here. I think we're safe.
As for the second lead couple, there could be another man coming in between them, it's not made clear what his relationship to the second FL is.
Btw, I realized that the second love line will be a noona romance. The second FL plays a 34 year old, and the second ML a 25 year old. And the guy who could possibly come in between them (the secretary to be precise) a 30 year old. The two main leads on the other side are both 29 years old.
And there will also be a gay character who has a one-sided crush on the second ML.
Furthermore, the chart also indicates a relation between the first FL and the first ML's father, but it doesn't say what kind of relation it is besides it being a bad one. I hope it's not the stupid common clishee of him being responsible for the death of a family member or something like that.

Seems like it. There could be supporting characters coming into play for either of the two couples, but even if that happens, they're at least not part of the main cast and thus shouldn't have a lot of screentime. I'm really hoping that it's just two love lines without any triangles though.

I think it's pretty much what Start-Up wanted to be, a motivational story about struggling youths finding their dreams and also love in the process. I really like the trailers and the leads actually seem to have chemistry lol. I'm hoping for a good rom-com with a realistic story.
As for the characters, the ML is a former sprinter who was forced to quit due to legal issues and the FL is a film translator.
I find it funny how people keep accusing Ji Pyung stans of rating the drama low just because we're Ji Pyung stans without actually reading any of the criticism we have towards the drama. It's becoming redundant to point out where the problems with the plot are, they won't listen anyway and just label us as toxic again. I think it's evident who the real biased ones are.
And nobody's saying you can't like the drama. If you enjoyed it, that's great. It still has a lot of things that can be enjoyed like the excellent acting, the beautiful directing or the OST. But people who attach importance to the messages a drama is trying to portray, to believable character growth or to plot consistency have valid criticism towards this drama. In the end, it's a matter of what you personally value more when it comes to dramas.
