So is this not being uploaded officially on YouTube? That's sort of rare for Chinese dramas nowadays.

I watched the first episode and it's more interesting than I thought. It's also kinda of weird but I dig it, as long as it's well written throughout. The subs on YouTube are kinda choppy, but I'll take that over no subs any day and luckily (or unluckily?) I've spent so much time watching Chinese dramas I can fill in a lot of the gaps lol.

They should really get Li Xian back. Even if they have to release it in 2020, that's far better than changing the main actor just because of a scheduling conflict. Like man, get some sense. I hope netizens are kicking up a fuss for it. Though Jin shi Jia is a perfectly good actor Li Xian is the person everyone wants for Guo De You.

Love everything so far, but isn't she suppose to have a child, is the synopsis wrong? Of course something may have happened, but if so why mention her child in the synopsis at all? That seems like something you'd reveal later. Unless I missed something they didn't mention anything these first two episodes.

I was googling the line last night and apparently it’s from a Seo Jeong Joo poet (a famous korean poet) which…
Oh, that explains it. Thank you! I watched the episode late last night and I guess I was too tired to notice finer details lol. I had just assumed there was one more line on the back of the child's drawing than on the convict's photo. That's the problem with not being able to read Korean.

So that poem is basically about a myth some people believed that leprosy could be cured by eating a part of a human (normally a child). So is the serial killer someone who thinks/convinces others they (or someone else) can be cured by sacrificing children? Very intriguing.

There was definitely an eerie atmosphere that surrounded the whole episode. I don't think this show is suppose to be supernatural, though it would be interesting if it was. It might deal with belief in the supernatural though.

What does that last line even mean?! "When the moon rises over the barley field a child is eaten", is it a moto of a cult of some kind? Is there some boogeyman coming out of the woodwork to snatch children when he notices the moon rising over his barley field lol?

Anyway, I really enjoyed the first episode. This has all the potential to be a great drama. Solid cast (I've always like lee Yi kyung since watching school 2013 & mirror of a witch, glad he's finally becoming popular), good writing so far and excellent cinematography. Though I wish "dark" mystery/crime dramas would give it a rest with the cheating husband trope, like can't we have at least one happy marriage amid all the angst? Why has that become so popular this year lol?

Tak has lost all my respect, officially. I was rooting for her to at least be the partially sane one and do the right thing(or at least react like a normal person) but looks like that's not happening. I guess she likes Manager dipshit too much.

Also I like how they were discussing everything in that food tent without even lowering their voices, like do people not have ears? But that's dramas for you lol

This week really exhausted me to no end, but that's par for the course with this drama lol. Also my hunch better be right or I'm gonna resent the writer for all eternity.

Yep, it'd be better for him to just tell his sister everything. No matter how horrible the truth might be, it…
Yup, couldn't agree more.

Gahhh same! It takes me close to an hour and half to finish an episode and not because it is slow but becuase…
Lol same here, it took me about 2 hrs to finish episode 11. And I also paused at the place, even before JG said anything because I knew he was just going to say something combative and it was going to hurt me lol

I f you want another show that makes you feel the same way, look at "Pretty noona who buys me food" and "Secret…
I ended up dropping PNWBMF because it got too tedious for me but I have secret love affair in my ptw list, looks like I should start that after I finish this one. Thanks for the recommendations!

Agreed! I've replayed so many scenes over and over and am amazed at Seo In Guk ... hes a completely different…
I also hope the ratings go up! It really is a great drama and you can tell everyone is putting a lot into it, it'd be a shame for it to not even hit 8-9%, if not double digits.

When I watch this drama I find myself constantly pausing it, especially in recent episodes, because I just need a moment. It's so heart wrenching. Like it hurts to watch it at times for me, but that's what makes it so good. The cast is so great that you can feel every emotion like you're there in the scene with them(for me at least). And despite this perhaps not being the most realistic plot-wise(though truth is stranger than fiction) there's a lot of realistic situations and emotions being showcased.
The only other drama I can think of that made me this agitated/emotionally invested while watching was my ajusshi and occasionally Misaeng also.

On a lighter note, looks like the required kdrama plushie appeared this week lol.

cho rong is the kind of character i hate and pity at the same time, its make me think "you shouldnt have tried…
What I meant is that, because this is fiction, we know he's not going to get the girl, which sucks. So basically what I was saying is that it'd be nice if characters like him(second leads) didn't go all out in the first place so they don't get their feelings hurt as badly. In no way am I saying he's not a good person or doesn't deserve to be happy. irl Cho Rong would be the better choice. I was just saying we know how this story ends, so it was sad watching him trying his best and going all out while I knew she wouldn't fall in love with him.

Sorry, I have trouble articulating what I mean in writing so it kinda came out weird lol.

Yeah, Seo In guk is a great actor. I feel like if they got someone who wasn't able to do micro expressions as well as him it wouldn't be even half as enjoyable. :)

Yup, I wish some characters could know they're not one of the mc's so they can give up and stop getting their hearts broken all the time lol.

I get why people like him. I like him as a character (he's intriguing) and as of episode 9 I'm starting to like him more as a person. He's someone who is basically going through a new period of self-discovery. He's been treated a certain way in his life, which has caused his personality/behavior to be a certain way. It's not an excuse, but it's an explanation y'know lol. He's behavior in earlier episodes though like you said is very douche.

That last minute of episode 9! Wonderful! Also the ending ost is really fitting. .

Aw, poor Cho Rong. It was bound to happen but it still makes me sad. He's a really nice guy, but just because someone's nice doesn't mean you can fall in love with them. I'm glad Jin Kang didn't drag things out, for both their sakes.

This drama kinda drains me tbh, but I love it. Moo Young Isn't exactly a good person(as everyone has been saying), but he isn't entirely bad either, I guess chaotic neutral is the best description of him. I'm happy he donated the money to his old orphanage(I was kinda wondering what he was going to do with it, as he doesn't seem to care much about money), as shown before, he does have a heart! It just needs a bit of WD-40 lol.

Also, on a slightly unrelated (mildly creepy haha) note, that secretary is quite a good looking chap.
