I thought Park Shin Hye was going to be the lead. I love her, but I like Seo Ye Ji for this.
Same, Park Shin Hye is a great person I’m sure, and an okay actress. But in when it comes to more emotional roles she tends to go kinda flat, though hopefully she will improve with time!
That first scene with the fishing was hilarious lol. Dude swimming out like he’s trying to escape from Alcatraz. I bet money not the first time he pulled something like that lol
Hm, I think the subber is us based, so would be two more days. But obviously irl comes first, so might be the 16th or 17th too. I’ll reply to this comment though when they are subbed. Subber is located at d-addicts tho, if you’d like to look yourself. :)
It is out today. I hate how japanese dramas have less episodes but still take longer to air and to get subbed…
Thank you for the info! And yeah, the One weekly episodes pain me lol. I get so spoiled with two weekly with Kdramas, or even like 10 a week with cdramas lol. Still, it’s a lesson in patience I guess.
It’s definitely a site you need Adblock for, but I watched the first 5 on ondramanice. Don’t try it on mobile though, I dunno if it’ll mess something up or not lol.
I think the female lead is adorable, I don't understand their definition of ugly, but I guess just a different…
Definitely different cultures, actress is definitely cute, just chubby. But just like in Korea, Japan’s traditional (or at least past few hundred years) concept of beauty is heavily tied in with weight, unfortunately. But I’m also enjoying it, despite the synopsis I don’t see the male lead as thinking he’s weird for falling in love with her because she’s chubby, quite the opposite I think he’s treating her like any other woman, actually better than. Side characters are ugh tho, and the marriage was a bit sudden lol.
The brother rubbed me the wrong way from the get-go, but Japanese dramas always have an affinity for such characters (“No one’s perfect, people change”) so I kinda just pushed that dislike to the side, but based on episode 3 looks like he hasn’t changed. That fidgeting with his wedding ring is a tell-tale sign.
I disliked his wife too because she was kinda aware he was in a relationship, but from what I’ve seen of her I think she’s just very naive? Maybe idk. Feel bad for her tho because it looks like he’s trying to cheat now. ): though again, if she got involved with him when she knew he had a gf, kinda karma.
That being said I like how they handled rihito’s conflicted feelings about his nephew, on one hand he’s a reminder that his brother betrayed his fiancé, and Rihito’s first love, on the other hand he’s innocent of his parents sins. It was realistic seeing him fluctuate from pretending not to be interested in him to brooding over things like what kanji to use for his name. Hopefully he’ll always be there for him as I have a feeling the kid might have some identity issues if he grows up and learns what his father did.
I liked the plot they had initially, where the ml was blind. It was intriguing, not only because it's rare that it's the ml that's blind, but the other plot points they dropped seemed good. Prosopagnosia has been kinda overdone as of late.
