Nice to see another of Patrick Rangsimant's novels is being adapted <3 love how the guy's mind works. This one must have slipped my attention when I bought a bunch of his novels a while back. Time to check it out whilst we wait :)
...*inaudible screaming noises as she realises that after two years we'll actually be able to see the remaining 22 episodes.* Didn't think that would ever happen but a resounding YES. Time to re-read Mo Du for the umpteenth time as we wait.
Thai dramas are so criminally underrated IMO. and I wish more people would give them a chance. I'd recommend this and 1000 Stars to anyone - well-written dramas with interesting characters and great acting. Always great to see someone discover and appreciate a fantastic drama :).
Hi yes! It's called "Meet You At The Blossom", it's super good, its based of like ancient China but it was filmed…
Three excellent novels right there :) MDZS is another one I've re-read so, so many times and I completely fell in love with Wei Ying as a character. Also re-watched The Untamed more times then is healthy or good for me lol, Totally worth the hype, it was a perfect adaption and just such a beautifully - and lovingly - made drama. I'll only ever have praise for it and it's always been a solid 10* from me. Nothing quite like it.
Totally agree on SPL but admittedly I fangirl over a lot of Priest's novels. She writes such interesting characters and storylines and Ihope we get to see Winner is King someday. I adore Tan Jian Ci as an actor and was really looking forward to his Gu Yun but then the danmei/ baihe ban hit. Sad times but it did free me up to discover Thai BLs, which're extremely underrated for how good they are.
I'd love to see Wang Yo Bo and Xian Zhan together too. WYB's really impressed me with his acting (he was so, so good in War of Faith)

It's certainly tragic yes, especially considering just how beautifully written some danmei novels are. It would be a dream to have them adapted properly (I'm still hoping for a proper adaption of Mo Du which is still my personal favourite, I've re-read that way too many times). With My Stand-In my main complaint was in the last two episodes but it's still more than acceptable and I enjoyed it a lot. Likewise Ming as opposed to Yan Ming Xui was also a lot softer than YMX was. Partially I blame Upp for playing the role so well - he almost made me like the guy lol. But certainly changing MengMeng was a welcome change as his sister was so horrible in Professional Body Double but she was a complete sweetheart in MSI). Likewise have a great day and I hope you enjoy Meet You at the Blossom :).

I will likely take you up on that when I'm in the mood for romance dramas again so thank you! I've been making my way through Thai BLs and some of them have been truly impressive. It will be interesting to see what we get in 2025 (and hopefully I'll be cured of my romance burn out by then 🤣). Have a great day! :)

I can second Meet You in the Blossom is very much worth the watch! I'm not a fan of toxic relationships but I will give credit where credit is due to Shiu Qian Cheng - she writes very interesting novels and characters. Both MYatB and My Stand-In as adaptions are both very much worth the watch (and I hope Thailand and/ or Taiwan produce more adaptions of danmei novels). Anyway on topic thanks for your review of Kidnap. I was considering giving it a second look when I'm in the mood for a romance story again but think I'll give it a miss.
I don't want romance as I'm burned out on the genre lol - so if there's little to no romance I'll gladly check…
Fully agree. Romance is the most popular genre so it's cool most dramas have some romance in them. Just not a fan of it and at least currently I'm grateful for anything without a love story subplot (like people were asking if there was romance in Buried Hearts and...yeah. Given how romance was handled in Impossible Heir I'd just prefer none of it in modern political dramas). But I got round to watching the first two episodes of this and was very impressed. Just what I was looking for.
What’s wrong with people thinking there’s romance between the teacher & Yun Ga min?. That’s weird!🥴.…

I have not yet seen any other drama from him except for Sparrow, and I agree with you! He is such a great actor…
You definitely should when you get the time, Winter Begonia is nothing short of a masterpiece IMO. I'd also say Original Sin's worth checking out, Happy New Year :).
Happy birthday! 🌹 But really, what a fantastic actor. His performance as Su San Sheng in Sparrow left me more than slightly traumatised lol. He was so good 🤣. Such a complicated character who I both deeply sympathised with and despised at the same time. Then I completely fell in love with Shang Xi Rui in Winter Begonia. These are two of my favourite dramas, and much of this is due to Andrew Yin's acting. There's no one quite like him, his acting just lingers in your mind hours and days later. Hopefully, we get to see him in another drama soon xxxx.
The trailer looks a *lot* of fun and a female-centric business c-drama sounds fantastic right now. *My fingers are crossed for subs and for there to be little or no romance as I'm more than burned out on the genre. I just want to see a bunch of scheming, badass ladies being awesome🤣 *

Think I'll rewatch the first season whilst we wait, it was so good!

Nice to see UpPoom get another drama together too ❤️
