Excellent review! I had no problem with the romance taking center stage but they still could've done more on the political end. And they really short-changed us in the villain dept (I did my own villain rant in a feed post). Mediocre villains can really drag down a drama 🤦🏽♀️😔
I didn't laugh but I was wondering why he didn't fight first and pick up WL's body later. I swear I'm doing my body some unknown harm with the way I'm called upon to exercise my suspension of disbelief with these dramas 😅
The foreshadowing for Wei Liang was just way over the top. They might as well have written a disclaimer at the bottom of the screen: "We're killing him off in the next episode, get ready." Like you, I was hoping for a plot twist, even right up to that last spear thrust. Too ridiculous. I'm still so mad 😤
I just completed ep 33 and if the spoilers are right ...
... then the script really overdid the foreshadowing with Wei Liang. Even if I didn't know beforehand there's a possibility of him dying, these last scenes would've been a big, fat clue. I'm still hoping for a different outcome 😔
Bi Zhi has no personality. He's really just a blockhead and has no opinion on anything, and just follow his wife's…
Ugh, I'd been thinking the same for a long while, but it was especially glaring today. You could see he was disquieted by his wife taking matters into her own hands, but he didn't even bring broach the subject with her. Too passive.
I'm happy for the other characters (I was even half afraid they'd off Wei Yan as well!) but I'm just really sad about Wei Liang.
