When I went through the cast list and saw there was a young version of SYR, I had been expecting they would give me some pity-inducing event from his childhood to get me to feel sorry for the adult SYR, and I was all prepared to not be taken in. However, it was a waste of effort on my part; while the event portrayed was pitiable, I became even more disgusted with SYR, and feel insulted on behalf of the person who had such high hopes for him.
And that mother of his is worse than he is; her nagging reminds me of the biblical proverb, "It is better to live in a desert land than with a quarrelsome and fretful woman." (Prov. 21:19). Thankfully, she only comes on sporadically, because she's getting on my last strained nerve.
It wasn't a problem at a beginning because I discovered the drama a little late and had to catch up. However, getting fully caught up and with episodes dropping at midnight my time, it's playing havoc with my sleep cycle. I keep telling myself I'll wait for morning to watch new episodes but that never happens 🤦🏽♀️
Now that we're expecting two episodes to drop tonight, I don't dare stay up to watch both. But I know myself well enough to know I certainly will attempt it 🙈
Consort Li and her high-handedness had me kissing my teeth; looks like she wants to make a play for JL as well. She should be careful lest she loses the Emperor's 'favor' .
It was a powerful scene. I thought she was going to pretend to forgive him a while longer. But no, when he reached…
Very powerful. At first I was taken aback when she so easily said she forgave him, but she was merely pulling back a little to get a good punch in. Great scene.
If they are cutting 4 episodes.. i hope they cut the unnecessary scheming scenes, fighting scenes and separation…
Can they do any of that at this point? (If they could, they can cut out everything to do with Her Rabidness, Princess Wanting (but Never Having) for all I care. Since her epic show of stupidity at the Imperial trial, my tolerance level for her is very low.)
I want to know why no one is doing anything about the gardener who is fighting better than the soldiers and leading…
A lot is still in limbo (like where is/what became of JSR). I expect the family may start questioning the 'gardener' oddity after things settle down. Or it might be ignored or brushed over as unimportant compared to everything else that has to be dealt with.
That's why you should never talk about future plans if it's not yet the last episode 😢
True. It’s like discussing future plans triggers the Foreshadowing Effect 🤦🏽♀️
I was already spoiled on what was going to happen but if I wasn’t, that talk between the two of them would’ve clued me in that something bad was going to happen.
i lowkey think JSR is more psychotic than Wanning. Wanning is just a clown 🤡
I’m in 100% agreement. Every scene with Wanning makes me feel she’s a drunk needing a good douse of cold water to sober up. JSR, on the hand, is the real scary.

Also, since she's, technically, still married, I'm wondering if we'll even get a kiss scene before Shen Yu Rong is out of the picture.
It shows interaction between Situ Jiu Yue and Shen Yu Rong (from the 0:31 mark). Will there be a thing between these two?? I hope not *shudders*
