I started reading specifically because of DFQC’s anti-hero status, but from the original comment, I got the impression he mostly treated her horribly from beginning to end, but it looks like that’s not the case. I’m not into too many ‘isms and I like subtlety so I’m willing to read on. Thanks 🙂

Is that so?? I started on the novel while I’m watching the drama and I’m on chapter 6 right now, where it’s still very much at the beginning stage. If things went down the way you say, I won’t continue reading.

I kept 8 episodes in hand to binge today but I still got defeated by a cliffhanger at the end of it all 😔

Is Yingdeng really gone?? I noticed one of Yandan’s petals landed on her and she held on to it before turning into a statue - what does that signify? I wanted her to be gone so much but I’m not 100% certain that’s the last we’ve seen of her … sigh.

Qian Jiu never attended the school; she went there disguised as a man specifically to kill Sang Yu. Also, if you notice the 'school uniforms', boys wear blue ribbons and girls wear red ones; Qian Jiu's were blue.

Thank you! I always get so put off with this type of thinking, that all female characters have to come out of some kick-ass mold to be a true heroine. I appreciate both bravado and quiet strength, and character growth (not necessarily personality change) is my favorite thing in a drama.
