70+ episodes has been cut to 40 episodes, please how's this gonna work!?
Wow, that's a huge cut. The drama came on to my radar late and I was wondering how something so epic-sounding could have only 45 episodes. Will it even be cohesive??
Yang Zi is literally getting back her title of 'Mrs Gu' again after 8 years... 😃😃😃
It's funny you should mention Battle of Changsha. Yesterday, while watching the scene where LZX is unable to accept the news about her father, I was reminded of the ending of BoC, when she learns about her family. BoC is one of my ultimate favorite dramas.
I don’t think so. Looks like Gao XI got Mr Lin’s results after Gu Wei had already proposed. Having the wedding…
Not sure which flashback you're referring but my conclusion is not based on one. After Gao Xi returns to her office (presumably from her rooftop encounter with Gu Wei), she is handed a report by the nurse, and you can see from her expression that it is not favorable. Of course, it's Mr Lin's report (otherwise, why bother include it in the scene?).
Also, Gu Wei was walking on air when he got to work that morning (after the proposal). By evening, he was a lot more subdued, which implies he was then privy to the results. When he calls LZX, other than asking if she told her parents (about the proposal), you can see he wants to tell her something else, but instead settles for "I'm here with you".
So, no, I definitely do not think his proposal had anything to do with Mr Lin's illness.
There are quite a lot of behaviours and actions I often see in dramas that bother me, but violating someone's…
Omigosh, I'm so grossed out with her! Not only opening his email but also not giving him an opportunity to tell his parents firsthand that he plans to move out. I hope we don't have to deal with her for too long.
Compared to Gu Wei, Dr Gao is such a perfunctory, 'just-the-facts-ma'am' type doctor, she comes across as uncaring. And it doesn't help that I'm steadily losing my neutrality with her. I have a strong negative bias with this character type in romance dramas: the ubiquitous female pushing herself on a man who is not interested ... sigh.
That aside, I'm really enjoying the drama; the interaction between the main leads and the way conflict is handled gives off such a serene vibe. This is just the type of drama I need right now. I'm enjoying every new episode more and more, and I had fun with episode 7 - Gu Wei trying to explain Gao Xi and LZX just not getting it was hella funny xD
