I think in future we will get dramas that's titled "It's okay, to cheat", "Love, Outside Marriage", " Say no to,…
One of the dramas I finished yest is a good example of how content will eventually change, and not for the better. A viewer said they don't see anything wrong with loving someone else when they're in a relationship already. In other words they think cheating is alright. I hope basic moral standards prevail.
I saw the hate comments and rating and thought this will be a train wreck but somehow I like it.Is it a masterpiece?no…
Then why is it getting so many 10 ratings? A 10 is a Masterpiece and should be reserved to masterpieces which have NO faults in any area of production. Rewarding production with a 10 doesn't lead to growth. Maybe that's why there've been fewer great Kdramas in the last few years. It's as much the entertainment industry's fault though. They decided to place profit over quality by spitting out mediocre dramas as fast as possible when the demand for them shot up several years back.
Someone on another site disparaged OG Kdrama lovers by saying they were hating on DNAL. For one thing placing people into levels of 'when' they've watched (as in long term or short term) is ludicrous, and it's of no importance whether someone has watched every drama under the sun or whether they're new to kdramas. We ALL watch Kdramas because we love them as a whole. Yes, there ARE stinkers, but there ARE the others. The OG.
An OG is original, one of a kind, unique, a masterpiece, or purt near close to it. I wouldn't place DNA Lover among OG kdramas. That would be an insult because OGs among kdramas ONLY include the greats, The Originals, going all the way back to the early days. Shows like Goblin, Winter Sonata, Jewel in the Palace, My Mister, Crash Landing On You, etc. The dramas one can rewatch over and over and over and never ever get tired of them. The ones most people know of regardless of age unless they live under a rock. The ones known by heart and lines are quoted without looking them up. OGs are the pillars of the S Korean drama land.
Netflix could release 5 eps in the first week IF the episodes have finished airing in S Korea. When an episode…
Yes, Netflix has BME in SK. It's on TVING and VIKI outside SK. Yes, Netflix only provides the episodes which have already aired to the domestic market. If one can't endure the weekly drops of episodes then it's best to wait to view after it's completely finished airing in SK.
Just my pov .. this drama is nothing new ... maybe they had a nice theme but writing is below avg as per me. I…
Currently in mid ep 3 and it is hard to watch. I usually give a drama 4-6 episodes before I firmly decide to drop or not. It's definitely different, and imh not in a good way. When I can't specify Why, due to it having multiple issues, I usually move on, not wanting to analyze the complexities. The romance factor isn't a part of my 'needing' to finish.
It all boils down to 'does this drama deserve my time. I love complex dramas, with emphasis specifically on those that make one think. I'm an old dog and can still learn a new trick or two, but rearranging my brain into knots just to finish is a huge NO.
It's getting better. I believe if Netflix pick this, they will release 5eps in the first week. I think its better…
Netflix could release 5 eps in the first week IF the episodes have finished airing in S Korea. When an episode has aired to the domestic market (S Korea) then it can be released to other countries and usually drops after translators do their job. So:
Ep airs in SK Ep is released to other countries that have bought a license for it to stream Ep is translated into other languages (Viki translators are volunteers) Ep is released to the streaming site We get to enjoy the episode Rinse & Repeat
So far 8 episodes with 1730 comments means it's a pretty divisive drama. I haven't started. Is this really worth watching? Comedy is listed first under Genre. Does it have more comedy than romance and drama?
There's SO much wrong with the writing in HTBT it's pitiful. Except the friendship among the 3 friends...and the secondary couple. Half or more of the drama is long flashbacks. The same ones over and over. Sometimes even extended flashbacks 5 minutes after seeing the scenes. I've watched more than my share of dramas over the years and don't recall ever seeing flashbacks used SO excessively like this. As someone said in timed comments "episode length 20 mins flashbacks 15 mins 5 mins actual plot development".
Jung In Sun's career ended with Psychopath Diary. That was the last good drama of hers. And that probably is going…
I'm rewatching. One word: evolve. She hasn't taken on more complex roles to add to or enhance her talent, and she DOES have talent. She's been stagnant in her acceptances, and her agency has a fault where she's concerned. This is one element in the show that's frustrating for many of us who know she's a great actress. The role and her acting in this paticular drama is a huge departure from her past performances. She should've passed on the offer.
This the last I'll say something personal about an actor, unless they've committed a grave moral outrage and for which they were convicted and sentenced to jail. I'm glad you didn't mention the cosmetic surgery, or other physical 'enhancements' such as having the whitest skin in the industry, apparently, from seeing Jung In Sun's almost ghostly white hue in DNA Lover, or the erasing of their beautiful unique inherited traits while they latch onto what they consider to be 'better' than their own or my comment would've been 4X longer, at least.
EDIT: my rant isn't directed at you CARDI C.

DNAL is, and will never be an OG.
