Agreed. The actor playing this character deserves alcolades for creating a multi faceted antagonist that makes…
Hang Hyun addressed Ryang Eun in episode 17. Jang Hyun is intelligent, so what clues have been shown he doesn't know Ryang Eun has feelings for him? Y'all need to rewatch episode 17. You're saying both have spent YEARS around each other and NOW Jang Hyun is too stupid to sense Eun's feelings for him! Pfft
You and the other 6 (who Liked your comment) should seek help from your nearest intervention agency NOW. It's imperative!!! People are dying by force all across the world, so please don't do so willfully. It'd be sad to lose an MDL friend.
Does anyone think Jang Cheol might be Jang Hyun's father? Could Jang Cheol have added the Lee as his family name to throw people off? This is driving me crazy!!! So much to tie together.
He didn't kiss the witch. He let her kiss him. BIG difference.
He's dealing with a selfish, evil, foolish girl. Best to placate the beast. He knows she's unpredictable. If he had not "let" her she could have easily gone to have Gil Chae killed right then.
Maybe she was, maybe she wasn't. We don't know and the writers will never say it, neither will Gil Chae. She thinks…
The treatment she received upon her return home was a reflection of the treatment the "comfort" women received when they returned home after Japanese rule. If one is captured and tortured with rape being just one of the methods forced upon women then it grieves me greatly knowing their fellow citizens, including other women, reject them. I'm sure other countries have had the same views of these women, but they haven't portrayed their stories like SK has. Humans can be vile when compassion is needed instead. My Dearest hasn't shied away from any of the aspects and consequences of war.

One thing everyone should be reminded of is tainted doesn't necessarily mean anything happened. Go back and watch the episode where Eun Ae considered herself tainted just because the barbarian touched her in trying to abuse her and was killed by Jaang Hyun when they were on the run.
It might seem extreme to consider a touch on the shoulder by the enemy as being tainted but there you have the historical record of the definition of how others saw the women who were even NEAR their enemies. The women were in the presence of the enemy as captives, thus their opinions would NOT have changed if given the evidence by a physician after an exam that proved the women still had their virginity intact.
I usually don't mind a sad ending to a drama but man I am really really really hoping for a happy ending for this…
I think we're all HOPING for a happy ending, BUT with the extreme heartache we've all felt up to now would suggest it won't be. IF it is then the writer is only doing so FOR the viewers.
How does one know when an actress or actor IS great, or will be in the future for the newbies? By their expressions. If they play their parts, including the ugly faces, to perfection. So many newbies don't want to show a "bad side". They want to maintain a certain persona. The great actresses and actors let it all out regardless, and it makes them human and relatable. Some go drama after drama with no varying of their expressions, then bam! they do and it propels them to greater offers, and the dramas benefit from it. Shin Hye Sun could teach a master class in expression (among other great actresses). When will the ones who have acted for years and not given their all learn to stop acting like they're acting and actually act the part in which they were cast.
With Burning, the description of one scene in online comments has prevented me from watching. I'm a HUGE Yoo Ha In fan of his works, but I don't want to see him "like that". If I knew the moment, I could skip over it, but...
Interesting pairing of ML & FL. Someitmes I wonder how in the world will these 2 leads or those 2 leads in dramas suit one naother, until I watch. Then the majority of the time I couldn't see it any differently and the actor and actress were very well suited. Just goes to show, more times than not, to trust the casting directors' choices.
Read his comment again. He said he was waiting for part 2 to end before watching.
