My first thought was "And I care!?!" Frankly, I don't care who an actor dates and marries or what he may do in…
Every word reflects my own thoughts, right down to the "since at my age, I'm not fantasizing about having some kind of personal relationship with them". Precisely. Your whole comment, what you said, you said it so well.
🥰

"(provided he isn't a sexual predator)". Amen. This is where I draw the line, if indicted and convicted in a court of law.

Person Nam Da Reum
I'm sure when he returns from military service his career is going to EXPLODE. He has so many roles credited from a young age and military service will finish maturing him. I'm looking forward to this young man's future 🥰

Wow, why so bitter? It's rather common for people marry foreigners (even I have two aunts who married foreigners).…
"here you are defending that statement because "NATIONALISM!" Defending? I won't defend xenophobia, much less racism. " i can see how you pack a whole nation under an umbrella term" There was one word in the entire discourse you ignored, and so did he. Probably to allieve your guilt. Following celebrities, watching dramas, and movies, listening to the music does not educate one on Korea. "your little westerner researches" Going deeper than surface level with research, documentation, and University is how one usually learns, and yes, ask any Professor and they'll tell you it's facts, the truth, which is presented. Otherwise nothing more than conspiracy theories are being taught. So get over yourself. No wonder our world's in the shape it's in when calling a statement racist, then offering the prevailing sentiment (which are based on fact which has been documented by scholars) as evidence, has someone thinking it eludes to one defending the sentiment. People have forgotten how to think critically.

"Evidently, Korea is not good enough for him." He's alluding to HER not being Korean, because Song is Korean and Saunders is a caucasian European (add an A in front of "Korea" and add an N on the tail of "Korea" and there you have it. Regardless, it is in fact a racist remark. Please stop the projection and gaslighting.

Edit: ^^^ this was in response to other comments in the conversation I had with another account who has since blocked me. The conversation was stopped after this.

No. LOL. I called YOU out on your racist remark. I said "A unified bloodline is the belief of the majority of S Koreans based on Korean ethnic nationalism." My comment is based on scholar documentation in the prevailing independence and political communities. You "have lived with those cultural difference now for 43 years". I'm sure you have, so I'm surprised you haven't delved deeper and tried to understand WHY the Korean people are the way they are, instead of living superficially for 43 years. Maybe have a deep convo with a group of Koreans. Now, go to work, or to bed, or whatever you do during this time and leave me alone. I won't take the bait anymore. You exhaust me.

My comment is truthful, and yes, one can pack "cultural differences sometimes can be difficult to cross, communication can be difficult to bridge, mutual understanding is hard to achieve." into the xenophobia. A unified bloodline is the belief of the majority of S Koreans based on Korean ethnic nationalism.

I've been stuck in documentation of the history and present day S Korea too much of late.
I've also been stuck in discussions with racists on another site, and his comment struck me as such, when it is xenophobic in nature.

Comment is still racist.
Heresay. Rumors.
Lord have mercy, the young do not know how to read: "Take for example"... and Please don't tell me you aren't young to excuse your racist comment.

I understand what you're saying. I can't imagine how it is in S Korea living under a microscope being judged by people who don't govern their own lives. Most of the comments here have been positive, and it shows me that the majority of folks on MDL are mature and mind their own business which still gives me hope in humanity. Thank you for not taking offense like some people are quick to do nowadays. Have a great night (I'm assuming it's night where you are).

i really, really don't like talking about celebs' personal lives, but it's hard to avoid reading what was reported…
LOL. You are hoping I didn't read the entire post, huh? Oh, I read the entire post. One day I hope you, and others, understand the ramifications of what comes from the heart onto the page. I woud say I hope it passes you by, BUT (I like a good BUT) we ALL will reap what we sow. Read through all the comments and pay special attention to those that are one sentence short. "Congrats." "I wish them well." "I hope they have a happy life." SO simple to hold our tongue and wish someone happiness, regardless of how we "feel" about the person.

You know I'm speaking the truth or you wouldn't be so offended. Live and learn, dear, PLEASE, for YOUR happiness. Bashing others will be a hindrance to your health.

Have a good night. I hope you have sweet dreams. (See how simple that is).

A few months ago, when the news came out about him dating, i kinda laughed and actually wrote a comment saying…
"i kinda laughed and actually wrote a comment saying im no hater but"
The "but" tells a different story. Haters are by their nature negative. So anything negative in your comment?

"with all respect, its not gonna last , butttt wishing them the best of luck ."
What an underhanded way to wish someone luck, and again with the "butttt", yet you gave it extra emphasis with 3 more t(s).

Be truthful and say...I'm a hater, I have no respect, and I really don't wish them the best of luck.

THEN DON'T. Simple as that.

"also, all of his dramas post-divorce sucked"
Throwing everything AND the kitchen sink in helps, does it?

Then that makes your original comment all the worst. Most of us know S Koreans would are generally against interracial marriage, but the comment was racist. Take for example 2 people (one Black, one white) decide to publically announce their marriage and someone asks the groom-to-be if "Evidently, Black is not good enough for you." Now, do you see my point? Please, you can delete the comment and I and others will delete ours.

You said it SO beautifully. 😊 ANYTHING BEYOND what the parties involved have personally said while on camera, or in official documents is NOTHING but pure speculation, inuendo, rumor, slander, etc. Those people who are doing so are proving they like to join in on the mob mentality and make matters worse. They just don't seem to understand that regardless of time, we will all reap what we sow and NO ONE is immune to Karma.

it's annoying how people accepted him as a divorced man, BUT don't dare to accept other divorcees in the industry,…
Why do you keep repeating this same comment over & over & over? It sounds like you'd be extremely happy if everyone would comment that they hate SJK bc he's been divorced. Thankfully MDL isn't a site where netizens freely spew their hate. Please take it elsewhere. And don't @ me about this is your opinion and I should let you continue with your opinion and oh whoa is me you're being mean to me. Your comments have been stated to purely incite someone, ANYONE, to agree with you. It gives me heart to see 99% of the commenters aren't here to bash, incite, troll, spew hatred, etc.

It's not that they are "a country more accepting to backlash?" You have to take into consideration the culture of S Korea. Their country has a historical Confucianism philosophy, which is the complete opposite (IMHO, as I'm from the US) of western free-for-all/whatever goes philosophy.

The person you replied to was commenting the first day the article came out, asking repeatedly for an invite to the wedding and where it was going to be held. I think if anyone in SK knows how to report this person to the police there it would be helpful. They obviously have a stalker issue.

Can't actors such as Yang Dong Geun refuse to take a role such as this "dark plot line"? Or are they forced to…
"You're blaming the actor for starring in a comedy instead of the writer for making it a comedy."

Wha??? How did you come to that conclusion??? You are SO wrong, and I am a fan of his.

"or barely there stone-cold humor-not stoner or stoned, stone-cold ie flat affect straight-faced sorts "

You'd have to see it to understand it, and you said "Not watching The Forbidden Marriage ".

"I wouldn't blame, though, an actor for making a villain more funny in a comedy than in real life. "

I wouldn't either.
Apparently, you want to find fault with my opinion of the actor's performance in the specific drama you've decided you're "Not watching". I am a fan of his, and his limit isn't just...for...you. That's sad. The last time I cked he had 117 hearts. Letting actors and actresses go yr after yr after yr and NO one encouraging them to do better, or pointing out 1 portrayal didn't quite measure up to their HISTORICAL performances isn't helping them at all. And since you obviously don't know what the phrase historical performances means...his history, luv. His HISTORY of dramas, movies, TV shows.

You'll find picking bones ages a person real fast, so

Cast aside your worries, get some sleep, wake refreshed, and start a brand new unstressed day. 🙏

"Not watching The Forbidden Marriage but he's one of the top billed in it ". Based on his history, he absolutely made a mockery out of the villainous Minister Jo character. So much so, I'm surprised there wasn't a boycott to have him replaced in the drama. I've nothing against him. I've liked him in certain roles, but in this, I was ashamed of his portrayal. The stoner-look wasn't meant to give comedy to a role not meant to be funny, yet...someone failed.
