Thank you for saving me the trouble. I've put The Interest of Love on my Not Interested list.

I hear you. I can see the changes in Korean rom-com shows over the last year for sure. I left behind American…
I hear ya. I stopped watching American, went to British, Australian, Swedish, Irish, threw in a couple of others and finally settled on Korea as they were much more "innocent & comforting". I wanted more romance, less sex. More dialogue, less preaching to. More practical life lessons, less mindless dribble. "relieved to find such intelligent, thoughtful and excellent scripts in Korean dramas " Exactly. Because there's been a noticable change specifically in the last 2 years, I'd say, I've been rewatching what I watched years ago, and searching for the older shows I haven't seen. I still watch newer, but so many have let me down. I hope this trend isn't going to stick around. The trend to cater to the western mindset, which I think has contributed to the degradation of dramas. Why do I say that? Well, the trend followed the wave of viewers coming from watching Squid Game which isn't a great example of Korean dramas to introduce the world to. Actually, it's the worst on a list I'd share with anyone who doesn't know a thing about Kdramas but is curious. Don't get me started on Neflix, which I debate every month whether to let go or not. You can PM 5 of those finds anytime.

Seriously, critical thinking isn't a strong suit for those who view kdramas and rate them solely on WHO was in the drama, OR precisely BECAUSE it was a Korean drama. I think viewers demanded better quality years ago, before the west jumped on the Hallyu wave.

I envy you, and I wasn't being facetious toward your seeming innocence in a world others have known from an extremely young age. I repeat: I envy you muchly.

I hope that those who were complaining about Hae Yi give her credit. She took all that burden onto her shoulders…
My my my, your description is superb!!! and "feels more than just friendship for Chi Yeol" I've thought so too. Certain statements he's made all along point to it being an unrequited love.

ok the male lead has already resigned from the academy, I hope that in the next episode when everything is cleared…
His fickle behavior is sooo frustrating.

The biggest regret of my life at this point is deciding to watch this drama ongoing. How am i supposed to wait…
"And they always act as if they have the right to interfere in other people's private lives and badmouth them.I wonder if people like this actually exist in real life."

I'd love to know where you live that you've been so shielded from real life that you ACTUALLY do NOT know that people like this exists.

It's pandemic, and will get much much worse the nearer the end we get bc life as we know it cannot possibly sustain itself.

There's a good bit in this wiki article on the prejudice single mothers face and the hardship of single parents…
I appreciate the article which I'd already read. It never hurts to revisit our knowledge base. The prejudice both would face by the vile mothers and their cheerleaders is the only obstacle I can see. S Korea's view of single-parents isn't much different than it is here in the US. We might THINK we're liberal in how we see single-paren households, but we'd be lying to ourselves. Our prejudice against them is the same as S Korea. We see them as lacking and subpar to the nuclear family. So even though it bothers me that what should be a simple solution in practicality would open a whole bag of worms onto Haeng Seo and Hae Yi. I'm wondering HOW the writer is going to address this. My fingers are itching to lower the score since episode 9.
On Crash Course in Romance Feb 12, 2023
Hmmm , someone help me understand why, at this point, Haeng Seo (FL) hasn't disclosed she is actually Hae Yi's aunt, she isn't married, and doesn't have a husband working overseas. Would the ramifications be so earthshattering to Hae Yi among her peers and their parents?

We saw Hae Yi pecking out something on her phone and then it switched scenes. Is she going to let everyone know the truth, bc as of right now Haeng Seo has shouldered all the burden for "the scandalous adulterous affair".

Does Jang Seo Jin [Seon Jae and Hee Jae's mother] have any idea Hee Jae has killed? And WHY is he killing?

Am I the only one who thinks Ji Dong Hee (Chi Yeol's secretary/assistant) secretly cares for and loves Chi Yeol.

She's realistically dressed for a 40-something "mum" running her own small business, and without much money to…
The hairstyle they chose for her role makes her look lifeless, & flat. That could be th point of it and maybe they'll change it later to reflect her renewed youth. She's done nothing but work and take care of her bro & niece, and hasn't had time for a life outside of this.

I mean if ,for whatever reason, age of either of the leads is an important factor for your enjoyment of romance…
We need more people to call out the offensive behavior. It's become increasing apparent WHY our world is the way it is, especially of late. Thank you!!!

I guess I'll be the lone agree. I'm only on episode 6 and she was annoying the h*** outta me in episode 5. I haven't…
They DID far far far in the beginning of comments in this thread. Episode 5 was centered around the FL and ML specifically. Should you rewatch this ep?

"but yall gang up on her just because she is "female" lead and act like her age"
Do NOT y'all @ me. So you're actually saying you're one of those people who can't distinquish between the actress as a person and the character. The character/role that Jeon Do Yeon plays IS annoying, and to insert all this garbage into a reply to me when I was responding to someone else is obtuse. Should I use much smaller words for you to understand ahjummas are depicted in general as buttinskies, annoying, and the majority of the time are clueless and can't read the room. There are countless examples in dramas of this behavior.

"What is wrong acting like ajhumma seriously?"
I answered this question with the previous sentence.

"Seriously yall cmnts sound ageist."
I happen to love all elderly or older people because I am one. I'm probablyy old enough to be your grandmother. This comment ASSUMES most of the viewers canNOT differentiate between the actress and HER ROLE. I'm so sorry you haven't reached a level in understanding human intelligence/behavior that is beyond assumptions, and overly generalizes others into your extremely narrow box. Too, this statement tells me YOU think most people are stupid.

"If there is younger actress instead of her I know you all will not be cmntng this."
Yes, we would. If the shoe fits we'd call it annoying even if she were 10 years old. You REALLY REALLY don't understand she's playing a role which is dictated by the screenwriter and the director. Jeon Do Yeon is playing her ROLE to perfection.

DO NOT @ me with any other garbage. Stop being so sensitive and try too learn that some of us can watch a drama and KNOW it is a DRAMA. IT'S FICTION. The actresses and actors are PLAYING PARTS in the drama/story to bring entertainment to the masses.

The actress in question, Jeon Do Yeon, is an award winning one at that. Has an extensive list of dramas and movies . She is EXCELLENT, and the same goes for Jung Hyung Ho.
I would be surprised if she didn't win an award for her PORTRAYAL of Nam Haeng Seon (THE CHARACTER).

All words with caps lock are for emphasis so the account hopefully will have an understanding of human nature.
Please Block me so I don't have to read anymore of your asinine comments on MDL.

Just got into this... FL is a great actress as her character is really annoying the fuck outta me!
I guess I'll be the lone agree. I'm only on episode 6 and she was annoying the h*** outta me in episode 5. I haven't been this frustrated with a character in almost a week LOL. No, seriously someone called her an ahjumma in comments and someone else said she's too young to be an ahjumma. BUT HER ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR IS EXACTLY LIKE AN AHJUMMA. I REALLY wanted to slap her. And as for the othes asking about the moms. Right now, this ep 5, my sole focus was on the AHJUMMA!!!

I ABHOR the new trend of cutting a series in half JUST to extend subscribers'interest by hitting them where it hurts...their pocketbooks. It's the cheapest, & lowest of the low, and feels like we're dealing with con artists (no pun intended).

WHY MARCH WHY NOT FEBURARY
Netflix needs to keep their subscribers, so I'm really surprised the second half wan't scheduled for November instead of March.

If Netflix sees this working FOR their advantage, we can expect to see many many more dramas cut in half.
