Rewatching May 2025 and I appreciate the drama more now in regards to current politics across the world. I gave it a 10 back then, and enjoyed it more upon rewatch bc I could concentrate more on the intricacies.

The revisionist’s tale is based on one side of the controversy surrounding the 'history' of Crown Prince Yi Seon who was given the posthumerous name of Sado by his father, King Yeongjo.

The 'historical' version is based on Lady Hyegyŏng's memoir, and is the accepted version. The faction that appointed the King, CP's father, was Noron, the conservative party, and they heavy-handedly ruled over the life of CP's father for the entirety of his reign. CP's wife, Lady Hyegyŏng was a Noron, as was her family. CP Yi Seon followed the edits of the Soron faction, as did his son, Yi San, Crown Prince Munhyo , who became King after his grandfather's death.

I agree with the alternative version bc history at the time was written and preserved by those in power (as is all history), in this case the Norons.

3 years past your comment and I agree. How is anyone to know whether her memoir (her version) is correct. Couldn't she have written it from the perspective of wanting to live, just like the characters did in the drama turning toward the Noron faction to stay alive.

1. It's not that Mandu (the dog) will get more love from the homeless person. It's bc the homeless man will give all his attention to the reincarnated Mandu who was begging for attention from his original owner despite how much the homeowner loved him.
2. Why hasn't Som l been apprehended and sent to hell like Park Cheol Jin was in Ep. 4. She was destined for hell but walks around freely.

I hope they do take legal action. It's gotten to the point where I'm waiting on the controversies to include one of them breathing the wrong way, or walking the wrong way, or parting their hair the wrong way according to netizens. Victim mentality & low self esteem are strong in people bashing others, and fueling controversies. Do they not see all of this is hurting SK's tourism and the entertainment industry?

Please don't laugh, but seriously I really do think the reason this drama was written, and released is to gauge just how much nonsense viewers will accept. It's a conundrum. Writers receive feedback via ratings, and all the 8, 9, & 10s on less than low quality dramas is feeding them what they're use to, and not something better. Writers don't necessarily improve their scripts since viewers accept drivel. All this to say, HEA is a test of the viewers high tolerance for rubbish.

There are plenty of dramas that fall short with the writing, but to be this discombobulated is beyond crazy. What were the writers thinking, and after both had good works, it makes me wonder.
And it's far from a 'slice of life' as usually known. Life in Genre should be excluded.

Practically guaranteed most viewers wait until AFTER their multitasking is done for the day to watch. I guess we can add one more thought from those who don't know how to separate their daily lives into Work, Home, and Me time. No wonder so many are stressed.

It's usually the skippers, fast forwarding, or watching 2X speed, and yes, mutitasking while watching that ALWAYS ask the basic questions of what's going on or who's who in later episodes or after they've finished; not paying attention yet want others to fill them in. So, my question for them is How is that multitasking adding to your life when, apparently, none of it is spent as downtime?

Older Users see, understand, and can apply nuance, on a scale.
The kids see everything from an Either/Or perspective, one extreme or the other. So who is missing out. I've read comments "Why didn't you tell me how good this was." for dramas they'd passed on years before and recently 'gave a try'. What can be said except 🤷🏼

I've thought a rating system shouldn't be used at all anywhere. View with NO expectations. A rating adds to expectations. Go in at your own risk. One User's stinker is another's treasure and vice versa, so going by others' ratings is senseless. And seriously, getting all discombobulated over other Users' ratings adds more stress when it isn't needed. Watching dramas and films is entertainment. Why make it anything but?
