Girl was freaking out and lost it when the police came, only for Lee Don and ML to save the day once more. And immediately does something stupid again by visiting GSY only to be saved by the chairman, It's mind-numbing.
The way she's supposed to be this calm and collected bodyguard, yet acts on impulse almost everytime and has no clue what to do once trouble arises. I know Yeong-ran slander is getting boring, but she really gets worse each week.
YR: "bUt It's yOUr joB AttoRNey leE" Lee Don:"How much longer do I have to clean up your messes?????"…
Not that his actions are any more less head-scratchingly questionable at times, but idk KYR does not even feel like a properly thinking human being at this point. Just a vessel for the viewers to insert themselves and follow the plot.
YR: "bUt It's yOUr joB AttoRNey leE" Lee Don:"How much longer do I have to clean up your messes?????"
fr tell her! free this man, lee don is just as fed up as us. No plan, no strategy, can't defend herself. All she does is getting herself involved in messy situations and rely on either strawberry man or the lawyer.
The issue with Korean writers writing badass female characters is that they try writing a competent independent female main character who is supposed to be able to do everything by herself but they also need to justify her falling in love with a rather underwhelming ML (compared to her) so they make ML save the day more often than not.
Also they try to put her in a tough situation so she can be vulnerable and develop feelings (QoT Haein is a prime example). But by doing this they keep weakening and undermining FL along the way. Instead, they should try thinking of other attributes that she could fall in love with about ML, other than ML being a reliable lifesaver. Ugh.
the synopsis sound so interesting, why the reviews are so low?
Basically it becomes another drama midway by throwing away its entire premise, falling back on overused drama cliches and tired messages. Watch with caution lol
With the right build-up this film alongside its huge twist could have been something great. But the two leads made me feel nothing so once the "secret" got out I didn't really care for it. The writing was really weak and the acting idk? I normally adore Kyungsoo but here it was hard to connect with his character. Or rather ANY character here.
Also why did they use my girl Shin Ye-eun as poster girl when she has like three scenes. I’m guessing they tried to falsely advertise this as love triangle (it’s not) and her character barely matters. In fact the professor dad has way more scenes, if anything he should be main i guess. Anyways a mediocre film.
That's why I have problem with this ML and FL concept . Writer always try to force them to end up together . The…
And this is why 2521 will always be a masterpiece despite what some dopamine addicted teens might think. The writer was brave and mature enough to deliver an ending like that!
So I wondered about the drama's reception in SK and found these translated comments by pannatic:
[+262][-34] It totally floppedㅋㅋㅋㅋ It's more like 'A Hundred Frustrations'
[+231][-41] Do not ever write a drama like this again.
[+223][-14] It was really good until halfway through...
[+34][-1] I was surprised Kim Junghyun was just the second lead.
[+32][-0] The ratings were good compared to the drama's overall quality.
[+30][-1] It was watchable up until the bus attendant part, but then it completely went down the hill. Kim Junghyun did look charismatic here, though.
[+30][-1] I actually liked Kim Junghyun, though.
[+30][-1] Why did Youngrye end up with Jaepil??
[+27][-0] It would’ve been better if she’d just cherished her first love as a memory and ended up with her brother's friend instead. Why did they unnecessarily include that stabbing scene? Honestly, I already thought it was weird when she got stabbed in the shoulder and ran off... But still, the cast was pretty solid.
[+25][-6] The male lead was really disappointing. He had no chemistry and looked way too old.
"A Hundred Frustrations" lol I thought maybe domestically it would be received differently but yeah it seems to align with my thoughts and what I've witnessed around here. Anyways I'll just leave this here.
Honestly I couldn’t care less about the relationship dynamics being less-than-ideal/toxic , because they were a realistic and entertaining couple! And dramas are supposed to be entertaining in first place and not necessarily educational. And tbh I don’t care for leads that are perfect moral beings, in fact I can’t help but love this trashy dude being a fool all the time. Even if he is an idiot mostly he tries to improve and there is life inside him - unlike in many drama MLs nowadays, who aren’t allowed to make mistakes and learn from it.
Ughhh I miss times when dramas were about normal people struggles, mundane things & having character growth and not about young alpha/girlboss CEOs winning in life or superpowered individuals. They don’t make them like this anymore 🥲
I think the “sacrifice” this drama tries to force on us so bad is that she didn’t confess “she was first”…
Exactly, so far it seems to me the writer wants to give her a medal for not going full stalker mode for JP in the past and “reward” her with him for waiting and staying true to her feelings post TS. The way they treat him as a prize for YR is such a juvenile/immature thinking.
And they think this so some inspiring character growth story when it’s simply not that. It’s a cliched unrealistic love story and we watchers are supposed to cheer for the pure heroine for her love's perseverance over everything
I’m a fan of Kim Dami, but her character in this drama is so annoying. I think people side with Youngrye just…
I think the “sacrifice” this drama tries to force on us so bad is that she didn’t confess “she was first” to him at that pavilion (after that this weird dream sequence happened). And didn’t go full 2FL-mode by fighting for his love. Which is ridiculous because in what way is that an argument? Does she or the writers really believe JP would’ve ditched JH on the spot because YR “met and liked him first”??? Like the guy that straight up ignored her all the time?? 💀 This is not how people work in RL
And in the end she gets him anyway so she doesn’t sacrifice anything like you say. This is the most bullsh** writing Ive encountered lately!
