This drama did a great job showing the hardships that come with having hyperthymesia. It's a fresh idea, unlike in many dramas where it is used as some superpower to be a genius and solve crimes.
Let's admit it, many of us probably thought it's a handy condition at least once in their life (or it's just me...). However it's actually really heartbreaking considering how important it is for us to actually forget things and leave it past us. Since people with that condition can't do that they always remember and relive the past in their head and hence time seems to never pass for them, unlike for other people who can forget and move on. It makes one both depressed and lonely, since no one understands you or shares the same pain.
I know I may be stating the obvious here, but I just wanted to put it into words since it really impressed me ^^
Wow that doc just didn't even bother with confidentiality. It's like he doesn't even know it's a thing.and also,…
The funny thing is that he actually lectured his secretary about confidentiality of his patients information in episode 1, yet he does break the principle himself just a day after that lol
I am having doubts about watching this timeslot. The previous dramas are also not that good despite the ratings.…
OT but seriously what happened to long historical dramas? We haven't had any of them since an eternity. I think the last one was Flower of the Prison or something? I hope they'll bring them back, I miss dramas like Six Flying Dragons, Queen Seon Deok etc.
It's funny how the drama makes fun of the writer's bad writing skills and clowns her for writing a cliched manhwa when the writers in real life aren't particularly more creative (past episode 4). From love triangle, amnesia, time skip before ending it literally had the most tropes I know and it recycled the same love triangle/illness plot for 8 whole episodes.
Also justice for Lee Do Hwa. I wished he would get his own drama because he was too precious to end up like that 3
Most people are here for Jang Na Ra of course (and she's amazing) but I just want to say how happy I am to see my boy Jung Gun Joo up there. Loved him as Do Hwa in Extraordinary You! Rise JGJ, rise~
Also finally a main role for Go Joon, about time for sure. Such a charismatic actor & absolute scene stealer <3
Is there some conpiracy going against Kang Han Na in dramaland? I remember being surprised by her great acting in Moon Lovers and thought she'd get a lead role right after it but there we are in 2020 and she's still playing second lead girls :/
The first time ever I've watched Jo Seung Woo in anything was when I was like 14-15 in his 2003 movie Classic. While he made me feel bad for his character, the one I had eyes for was Jo In Sung lol even his acting was lacking in that movie. I used to love flower boys so yeah lol
Years later I watched Stranger a few months ago and being in my early twenties I could appreciate his acting much more. I was totally impressed! And I don't care about most "young" handsome actors that much anymore since I became 20, I feel old somehow...
This drama is trash don't waste your time. Unless it gets better, I'm on episode 13 and I just don't like how…
Idk if it's still relevant to you but there you go: there is no big reveal where everyone gets to know it at the same time, it rather gets out slowly. I think the first one to know is Myung Hoon in episode 38 and as far as I can remember he's the one to tell it to some others until everyone knows.
Am I the only one who doesn't think this show is that funny? I'm 4 episodes in and have put it on hold...does…
Short answer: It gets better/funnier after episode 4 :)
Long answer: I almost felt the same back then, the first four episodes are indeed darker and have less comedy since they're focused on the crime/injustice done by those in power. However the real fun stuff starts right after episode 4 and believe me it gets super funny, especially the second half! I would at least stick around until they start investigating together.
I love how Song Ja In is not your typical damsel in distress female lead - instead she can stand for herself, takes action by herself and is involved into the whole political struggles. She's naturally cool and calculating (traits which are usually used for males in dramas) but also has her own flaws, instead of being the perfect, nice, Mary Sue type of female lead we've seen countless times.
This is definitely the female lead I want to see in future historical dramas!
We all know Arthdal was unfairly judge even before the drama aired. And many tagged along with the hate. Those…
- "healthy debate" Sarcastic replies, insults about people's intelligence etc. Is this a healthy debate to you? To me that's far from it. To me half of those comments sound either insulting, over-instructive or arrogant. The kind of "you can't enjoy this because you don't get it" or "stop watching it then". Someone below even said they had to delete their comment because of responses like this.
- "We all know Arthdal was unfairly judge even before the drama aired. And many tagged along with the hate." Chill, it's just a drama, no need to victimize it. Also I mean I'd get if people respond annoyed to an hateful/bashful comment but people were pretty civil with their criticism imo, no one was blindly hating on this drama. They pointed out what they didn't like and people jumped on them with their "instructive" comments.
Some people in this comment section really need to take a chill pill. You don't have to respond angrily to every slightly negative comment about this drama. Like we got it you love it and it's great you're having fun, but it's okay if some people don't. And no you're not someone with low IQ or "expecting this to be a romcom" just because you criticize the way politics were presented, the world-building, the directing itself and the lack of scenes with the lead actors. Stop attacking people with toxic replies and just let people express their opinions and kindly disagree, that's not hard. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
TL;DR: We all are enjoying different things, let's just respect everyone's opinion~

Also why do I see Ryan Gold slender in here like he's a precious boy and a gazillion times better than that childhood friend or whatever.
Also justice for Lee Do Hwa. I wished he would get his own drama because he was too precious to end up like that 3

Anyways looking forward to this one! ^^
Emperor: YOU AGAIN?!?!!!?!
I felt this lol

some characters do have a crush on the male lead but it doesn't go anywhere, I mean he's a priest? XD
btw just realized you meant episode 4 as in 4 30 minute episodes so according to that it's episode 8/40 where it gets better.
