I think I see it from two sides, because I tend to think a lot about how writers and actors bring something different to a story from my experience. On one hand, I get why people say “writers shouldn’t be on set,” but at the same time no one knows the story, the feelings, and the exact expressions better than the one who created them. Having the author present could give the story extra depth but only if the rest of the team is already strong, because the author isn’t an expert on things like directing, production, or technical work.
As for the actors’ perspective, that really clicked for me. I honestly could never act again because the vulnerability of putting yourself all out there in front of strangers is so intimidating as an introvert. Their pressure to bring characters alive with the right emotions is huge. It also made me think how sensitive it can be if actors laughed at certain things. Like, if I were the author and wrote something heartfelt –or even an uncomfortable NC scene–and then saw the actors react awkwardly, I’d probably want to cancel the whole thing 😂 even though I know what's it like for both sides the connection you made made it click for me even more. Your mention of Kinnporche is on point too.
That’s why I feel a professional, experienced director is crucial, especially for adaptations. They’re the ones who make sure all these perspectives align and the final work stays faithful while still working as a drama.

They aren't forced to do any fanservice the director/NJ said that multiple times they never asked them to do such, the boys are being themselves it's all just genuine interactions they've been living together for a long time so the chemistry is natural.

he was just missing for ONE EPISODE why yall being so dramatic? it's not that deep I adore his presence too, they didn't cut any of his scenes this is how the story unfolds, some things need to happen first in order for the second couple to get together. no you didn't get what I said I'm saying this one isn't a sad ending😂 I connect a sad ending when a BL adaptation is censored and labelled as bromance, I watched every single one China made and none had an a happy ending. RL isn’t censored BL so the ending is obviously a happy one😂😂

When the series was taken off international Chinese platforms, it was because it’s a Chinese BL. They’ve never removed any Taiwanese BLs those are still airing as usual. Doesn’t that mean something? 🤦🏻♀️
