HOLY SMOKE. Not even gonna try to comment on the bathroom scene until I calm down. WOW.
This show has improved greatly from ep 2, which was when I had serious doubts. I am very impressed with the sets alone. I mean, the production team went all-out to secure the use of actual, luxury apartments, restaurants, hotels, whatever to make the show feel authentic and real. The lighting is also quite good; there is actual darkness and shadows and when it's night bedrooms aren't lit up like the surface of the sun. Acting from the two leads is quite good, overall. Still, I see so many little things that would be easy to fix but which aren't, and they distract from the plot.
But omg, all of you went where I did with our boys and it was...WOW. As I said, more to say on that when my BP and my privates have returned to normal. :)
Favorite moment in the episode: When Porsche, stunning in those tightie whities, leaned against the glass window looking out upon midnight-Bangkok and giving us a glorious view of the entire back of his body said "...this is beautiful..." I thought to myself "yes, Porsche, yes...you most certainly are." WOW.
It's neither stupid nor boring. It's a very wholesome story about the first love / relationship of 2 highschoolers.…
TO ME it is stupid and boring. TO YOU it is not. You don't get to declare one or the other to be the clear reality. There is no such thing in an audience reaction to a performance. Enjoy your teddy bears.
girl go watch sex and drugs if you want yaoi manpain. i agree that BL jdramas are very 'fluffy' these days but…
Yeah, cause there is nothing in between Sex & Drugs and this stupid shit. No gray area at all to work in, is there? It's got to be EITHER stupid fluff or butt sex porn. I don't know how anyone got the idea there were, you know, possibilities for story-telling BETWEEN those two extremes. Go take a pill.
I have an older brother. I like the leads. Why is it bad??
Where do you get that the brother liked her either romantically OR sexually? And there was zero sex between them so how do we know that the sister actually wanted that either. YOU are the one with issues, not the characters in this movie.
Just finished watching... never watching it again. Kinda disturbing if you have a brother
Do you have a brother? Did it disturb you? Do you think all brothers and sisters have this experience? Feelings like this can entirely be a phase. Or they can be lasting and damaging and all sorts of levels in between. It's funny how people freak out at the word "incest."
Actually I haven't seen any "man-woman love" between them. The girl didn't want to share brother with another…
9/10 for me. You conclusions are within the range of the possible but I interpreted things quite differently. Kids know what they feel much more than adults give them credit for. What did the brother have to feel "guilty" over? He did NOTHING wrong.
I don't find incest stories cringey for some reason. I mean ofc its weird and all but this movie handles it with…
I don't either GG. It's a fact of human existence and there have been dramas written about it for thousands of years. Check my comments above. I really liked it.
This deserves a far higher rating than this MDL silliness. For the most part, it was excellent. I can't think of anything huge about it that I did NOT like. A couple of odd things toward the end, but that might be me. I admire the director/writers for taking on a taboo subject people freak out about and lose their senses over. This happens far more than anyone wants to admit and the vast majority of the time it passes and is no big deal. My fave character might be the GF. She was the biggest-hearted and open-minded of any of them. I don't think the end of the movie gave her her due. I also admire the somewhat open ending...I don't feel sure what will happen next.
I like that no one was villified or made a monster of and I admire the courage of the brotther. Might have wanted to slap that sister once or twice. Brat.
Great acting and hard work from the ML. I will seek out more of his work in the future. Can't imagine how many hours of training he put in to make those boxing matches come to life. The atmosphere of that arena felt so real/authentic, the coach, her dad, the assistant, they were all great. HIghly recommended. Will definitely rewatch.
LOL why this would be a pseudo BL if it's exactly the steortype of what a fluffy BL is LOL
What is your...obsession with this? I, me, myself, and I are the people who don't think Pornographer is a BL. It is my opinion. I don't care what Wiki says about what Twitter claims about some Mangaka's thoughts on Pornographer. If someone paints a house red and then tells me it's blue, I still see red and will say so. And of course the writers/makers of any form of art or entertainment are going to want to see it on EVERY POSSIBLE list there is, regardless of technical accuracy.

The "pink" films I've seen are terrible. There are quite a few Japanese, gay-themed movies out there that are not fluff OR porn, they lie in the immense gray area between those extremes. I'd make a list but I'm too lazy right now.
I keep checking to make sure for certain this show was made in Thailand and not the Philippines. The never-ending preachiness is very Pinoy-like.
Day is much more appealing than dai-ZEE. He's handsome when he's not pretending to act like a screaming stereotype of a drag queen. I hope dai-Zee has passed on to the afterlife for good. But an example of the sloppy writing is that we just had a HUGE cry-fest scene where Som lectured her Pride-Posse on self-love and declared that dai-ZEE was a "trans woman." dai-ZEE didn't disagree but here he is the whole episode back to being DAY, who seems like a fine fellow to me.
For the tenth time, JAO IS NOT FAT. Not even the slightest, especially when the camera shows his full height. He is actually quite trim. He just has a little baby-weight in his face and that will fade as he matures. For a show that's always preaching, the message here is that if you're slim enough to look like Jao does you're still FAT.
Over the last three or so eps this show has added yet another BL cliche: The fem bottom who turns into a coy prude as soon as he gets what he has always wanted.
Seems to me that Toh and Jao have not grown at all as characters. They are still as spineless and insecure and simpering as they were when we started. They had better start giving something BACK to the two formerly straight boys who are supposedly hot for them or they are going to get dumped. Nuea spends most of his time reassuring Toh, and Sky does the same for Jao. Those kind of relationships are exhausting.
Overall, this series continues to read as a teeny-bopper screaming queen's fantasy of a college somewhere over the rainbow where popular, hot athletes inexplicably fall in love with nerdish, stereotypically feminine gay boys and nobody ever has to mess with icky/stinky stuff like S-E-X.
I blame the director for the enormously SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW pace of the dialogue. Huge dead air between lines and then added in are lots of spots where everyone stares around at each other.

I wrote, and I quote: "I don't think the Pornographer is a BL at all." I don't' care what some wiki page says. Wiki says lots of inaccurate things. This could be argued endlessly. Believe what you will.

What gives you the authority to proclaim all these categories as if writen in stone? No one, that's who. I don't think the Pornographer series is a BL at all. Deal with it.
