Why do people hate this?? Its soo good the only thing annoying about it is that its not longer, the acting was…
They hate it because even though they think they shouldn't like or approve of it, they are secretly totally turned on my it. The loudest SJWs are the kinkiest perverts in private.
I watched this once before and remembered I liked it very much, which is why I came back for a second go-round. So how the hell could I have forgotten what this movie is REALLY about? I am wrecked. I have watched so many Asian films since I found this wonderful world of Asian/gay cinema that maybe they are all getting jumbled together in my memory. Or maybe I have a built-in forgetter that automatically dis-remembers the outcomes of movies I love. Either way, I am so sad...but so happy to have seen this again.
Both actors are stellar. Perfect casting. Lots of laughs and lots of angst. What could be better? I am re-rating this to a 9/10 from an 8.5/10. Bravo. Highly recommended.
Uh. Yeah. This is definitely a product of its time. The plot feels disjointed, there is no build-up, and I really…
L like it a lot, as it is, today, now. "A product of its time." lol Obsessed lovers will NEVER go out of style in drama. That plot line has been around since time began because sometimes people ARE obsessed, a lot, a little, or in-between. The two leads' last confession/sex scene after the chase was EPIC.
All I have to say is the name perfectly embodies this obsession describes it perfectly if you don’t like that…
They should have gone with some sort of time-flip backwards to where they hadn't met yet, but the one with the lips remembered and was out to prevent a re-occurence rather than a full-blown reincarnation.
Bernard He makes for the most appealing, breath-taking psycho-stalker in BL history.
That entire final sequence, from when the chase leads to the bedroom and JT's heart-rending, tear-stained confession, on thru YC's realization that JT had always and still did love him, to when they make love, then wake up and do it all over again, is one of my favorite scenes in BL World. There are a couple of MAJOR plot holes you have to walk around to get thru this, but I didn't understand what they were until the end so I don't care. :D
I like rough, angry, love/hate drama, but "if I can't have you I'll kill you" is a little much for even me. I'm going to pretend he never said that and just go with it. lol Bernard's acting in that confession scene is epic.
Ok so I have a theory about Amber. It’s kind of a mix of other theories but it’s the only thing that makes…
To me, falling back on the old reincarnation trope would be a huge disappointment. This series has the opportunity to make BL history with a gay trans man/bi cis man romance. THAT would be courageous and precedent-setting. Some stupid, convoluted reincarnation thing, after all this lead-up, would be cowardly and a real let-down.
Your theory also doesn't account for things like ep 8's bathroom scene and Amber's odd reaction, along with the fact that camera angles were carefully planned so that we never saw a frontal shot of Amber's chest, where scars would be.
You know the saying "It's not the destination that matters, it's the journey"? This series is exactly the same…
It's way too slow. I don't mean the ultimate should have already been revealed but the last few episodes have just been a slow tease, with Amber moping around about what has become an ongoing deception and his former friends beginning to catch more and more hints and going hmmm....? Script, for a 24 minute show, is way too slow. This should have been a two-hour movie at most.
The actor already confirmed that the character isn’t transgender. I’m guessing Wen Wen is dead, and Amber…
But then he would be ten years younger than his former friends, having been reborn after dying as WenWen. And why would the actor spill such a huge spoiler? Link please.
We all seem to be going back and forth trying to figure out if Amber is Trans or a reincarnation of WenWen, what…
I will be very disappointed in this show if it goes with the old "reincarnation" silliness. I think Amber was afraid of Ah Le seeing his scars. And again, the longer he waits, with little odd things like that popping up more and more, the more deceived Ah Le will feel when it all comes out in the open. If WenWen died and was reincarnated, wouldn't she be about ten years younger than her former friends? Plus, she would never have had breasts to conceal, having died before puberty.
Wow. For being a relatively short drama, this show is great at wasting entire half-hours of its time rehashing the same old territory. How often are we going to watch the group of friends be together, sometimes mentioning the old days with WenWen, etc. as Amber looks wistfully on, still too afraid to come clean about who he really is. At this point the longer he waits the more chances increase that the reaction will be less than positive. It is beginning to feel like deliberate deception rather than a patient waiting for the right time.
Since people are openly discussing this issue below without worrying about spoiler tags, I'm going to add that though anything could happen, I believe Amber is a gay trans man who has already transitioned physically/surgically. His hesitance to reveal the truth is doubly fueled by fear of rejection as a gay man AND as a trans gay man. To accept him as a lover, Ah Le will have to adjust to not only being gay but being gay in a relationship with a guy whose plumbing is a lot different than that of most guys. It's a tough one, but again, the sooner the better. If rejection lies ahead, at least the waiting and worrying will be over and he can move ahead with life.
she should have just wished his sons to live a fortunate and longer life instead of wishing them to fulfill her…
The last straw for me was when she found out her older son had been paralyzed and he was right there in the same hospital with her but she did nothing to comfort him, just slithered back to her own room to feel sorry for herself. What a horrible person.
Nuea is committed only in so far as Toh remains a simpering, spineless wimp. This is FAR from an equal partnership…
Nah, not buying it. The pic is of two guys laughing at the camera. Who cares? It's another manufactured plot-point. Seems to me Toh and Jao are getting weaker, not stronger as this series goes on. If you are going to freak at every little thing then you're falling right into your bully's trap.

This is an example of what movies are all about.

One of my favorite second-tier BLs.
