Even if you weren't worried about f**king, it would be nice for them each to have at least a bit of privacy. It was weird how the film just threw that out there like it is totally normal.

Loved the movie til halfway, then began to despise Yori and it was downhill from there. My admiration that the film took this on was overwhelmed by my increasing dislike for him and his behavior, most of which just came out of nowhere. I guess once he got his rocks off that was it for him.
I was really rooting for this film until about halfway, then everything just kind of fell apart. I admired the writers/director for taking on such a potentially loaded topic without melodrama and judgement. But the character and behavior of the brother Yori really began to put me off at that point. He started things, gently convincing Uke that it was OK, that they were OK. Then, after one night of you know what he almost immediately begins to falter and weaken, deceiving her with that awful other girl. And he didn't even have the nuts to do it deliberately, he let that girl do all the work.
THEN...he changes his mind and goes after Uke. THEN at the field he changes his mind again. I'm like WTF is this guy's problem? Commit or get the f out. Especially given how timid and hesitatnt Uke had been in the beginning. He had years to think this over and then when push comes to shove just says "oh by the way, I can't do this." I wanted to smack him. What an asshole.
I was hoping for some real craziness, like pregnancy, the parents finding out, and the other girl telling the whole school about their relationship, which she still might. Can you imagine how awkward future family gatherings are going to be? You can't just walk away from something like this at that age and expect the feelings to just evaporate. They will always be there. I was hoping they'd say fuck it and run away together. Movie wants it both ways: supposedly their affair is over, but there they are walking across that field hand in hand again.

I'm hoping the parents waited until Amber was near puberty so he could decide for himself. But there has to be reasons why the parents raised him as a girl. Hormone blockers that prevent puberty from beginning are regularly used now to give the young adolescent extra time to make their choices.

Why in the world would Fujoshis, who generally love the idea of straight boy/straight boy romance want to see an Intersex or trans story? That assertion makes no sense whatsoever. Nor does your weird and kind of bigoted pronouncement that the "Lesbian and Gay communities" is not interested in Intersex/Trans people and their struggles. I am a gay man and I find this story fascinating. Why wouldn't I? It's as though Amber has all the struggles I felt as a young person, plus a LOT more to deal with than I did.

I love being surprised by movies and series. It happened just last night with a Russian film about high school bullying that I thought was going to be one thing and turned out to be another altogether. And it was wonderful/surprising/challenging/engaging.
If you want to be spoon-fed the plot and character details before watching a show, I don't really have anything else to say because I cannot relate to that attitude at all. As for all the $$$ you pump into Gagaoolala, I'm sure there are great many more open-minded Fujoshis and others out there who will gladly pay to see its content and more than make up for your departure.
This show has been draggy at times but the story itself is remarkable and I can't wait to see what happens next.
So what I'm getting regarding Amber's medical situation,is that he is intersex, not trans. This conclusion is in regard to what Amber said about a chromosomal abnormality. Which means WenWen would as a child already have had at least some of the external manifestations of BOTH sexes. Intersex people can have partial physical characteristics of both sexes, all the way up to actually having a full, working set of both male and female genitals and interior plumbing like a vagina, uterus, ovaries, cervix, you name it and at the same time have a working prostate, penis, testes as well. When I read about this after watching a really good movie about an Intersex teenager I never found an answer to my biggest question: Could a fully Intersex person impregnate themselves? I am dead serious and I was surprised not to find an answer online.
Anyway, so assuming that WenWen and her parents and doctors agreed she was more male than female, they would have had the internal female organs removed and probably put him on testosterone unless his body was already producing enough on its own. But this means WenWen would have already been aware of the dual nature of her body's sexual manifestations, even as a child. I mean, he was dressing as a girl but had a penis and testes. That is an ASSUMPTION, not anything that's been made clear by the show. Fascinating.
Just finished ep. 9. What a beautiful and moving episode. So glad to know more about Amber now, though it's not 100% clear what the medical situation is/was. Tannie Huang's acting is superb in this episode. I'm going to try to wait and binge-watch the next BL I'm interested in. Waiting a week for half an hour of story is frustrating, especially now that the director/writers have stopped marking time and allowed something to actually happen.
Wow. It's sad to me that this show is getting such little attention. 309 comments after eight episodes? I haven't watched number 9 yet as I am waiting for it to show up free somewhere but I've a feeling #8 will be important. Started to glance down at comments and caught a glimpse of one that piques my interest. Can't wait to see 9!
