I do like it rough sometimes, don't you? You don't know what you're missing.
Again, how a writer and director choose to present a scene of anything at all isn't up to you to determine. If you don't like a show, DON'T WATCH IT. "Properly grave tone..." "terrible acts in that context..." "mishandling them as erotic in nature..." You people are scary. Do you actually think there is ONE way to handle sexual material in a fictional work? What if the director/writer wants to convey a sense of irony, contradiction, confusion, disorientation, unreality by using beautiful colors, soft or beautiful music, camera angles, whatever over a scene of violent or un-SJW-approved sex? Is that not allowed by you?
Like your buddy above, move to China. The government there needs people like you to enforce their "decency" laws that has gotten all the gay taken out of gay material there. You could simultaneously enjoy sexual imagery and music and speech while you deny it to others. An SJW's paradise!
And again, why are you watching BLs and gay films at all. Many if not most of their source material features often violent rape and forced sex of all kinds. Why are you here? Really?
No one making a BL "has" to handled any way but the way they want it to be in their story that they are telling.…
Don't waste your typing. I know all too well what you folks think "sexualize" means and I always get a laugh out of your application of the term. You are writing as though sexualize and romanticize are the same thing. And no director or writer owes it to you to make scenes of any type of sex seem any way other than the way THEY want it to. It is FICTION and they can do whatever they want, present it however they want, have a rapist and a victim fall in love or one kill the other depending on the story. If you come upon a plot development you don't like, STOP WATCHING. Vote with your absence from the audience; give it a bad rating, whatever, but all this pseudo-censorship you want to impose on others is bullshit. People don't rape other people because they watched a BL.
You really must feel strongly about this to post the same thing four times at once (BTW, you have a double post…
Creepy but flattering that you're reading and tracking my posts. Now I remember why we stopped communicating before. Why do you care how many comments I leave to different people on the same topic? Why does that disturb you? You know good and well I'm not "upset" about Oat's crazy acting but you want to get that little dig in there. Passive-aggressive. BTW, I've seen you make the same point to multiple people in threads before, such as on TOATS and The Notebook. Get over yourself, sister.
In most BL's it’s cloaked, softened and romanticized, a perfect example is the sweet add of a tender music in…
"But also, unfortunately, sex sells." Seriously, what is your hang up with sex? Or is it a multiple number of hangups? Sex has always sold because people like sex. They like to have it, watch it, hear it, think about it, look at pictures of it, and many other things about it, just like they are made to do by nature. How old are you? You sound like an old church lady from when I was a kid.
End of 1st ep: Not nearly as bad as it could have been. So far it's never been a good idea when a BL pretends to be a big-budget action/crime/thriller. There are still plenty of chuckles at plot holes and other silliness but the characters interest me enough to keep watching. The fight scenes, especially the one between Kinn and Porsche, are suprisingly well executed. If he's that good a fighter why does Kinn need a bodyguard? Kinn appears to have an alcohol problem. Drinking at all times of the day and night. Never a good sign. His dad too. Kinn's dad was the one dude's dad in Dark Blue Kiss, right? Good to see him again. I do wish he'd take care of that distracting black mole. During the K-P fight, it was awesome when K grabbed P by the nuts since we no it won't be that long before he's doing the same thing only much more gently...with his mouth. :O Apo seems to be a much better actor than Mile. Porsche feels like a real person while Kinn seems like someone's impersonation of how a mafioso or yakuza might be. I see him ACTING. The scene between the two brothers near the end made me cry. Again, Apo's acting. Tropes everywhere: Dead parents. Deadbeat uncle. Debts left by dead people. Putting younger sibling through school at someplace with an exhorbitant tuition. Treating wounds with home first-aid kits. Females appear as either schoolgirls or nightclub ho's who walk like out-of-work runway models. Slooooooooooooow dialogue. Honestly, speed things up! Over the top action film music, super-loud. Thumping, too-loud music over tense, crime-lord scenes. That made me laugh a couple of times.
I wish Kinn had a girlfriend so it would be extra super-hot when he starts taking notice of Porsche. I bet things get rought the first time they hit the hay, or that K forces P. I'm kind of getting that vibe...perhaps there is already a REASON Kinn has no girlfriend. :) To all SJWs: yes, I'm a perv and I don't care what you think about it. In the words of George Michael from his number one hit back in the stone ages "I Want Your Sex (back when he was still pretending to be straight)": "Sex is natural, sex is fun, it's sometimes best when it's one on one..."
We don't know how far the show will take it but it is based off a book with several trigger warnings such as :…
People like you are so weird. Just watch the fucking thing and if you don't like it, STOP watching it. It's very simple. All this performative sussing out of the plot and details before watching a show is laughable.

Oh good...thank you for that tip on "Cutie Pie." I will watch it now, especially looking forward to the alleged "RAPE" (I love that you SJWs think not spelling out words will spare someone trauma, as if they don't know what word you are referring to...how stupid.) By the way, I think you LOVED that scene.
I'm aware of the gross stuff that happens in the story, but I was still very much looking forward to this show…
No one making a BL "has" to handled any way but the way they want it to be in their story that they are telling. I love that you think it's possible to not "sexualize" rape, sexual assault, BDSM, etc. when those things are ABOUT sex. Sex is at their core. And what happens in any direction about anything in a fictional story is fair game. So amazing that you SJWs keep swarming around here like flies that constantly have to be swatted away. STOP watching BLs. You're little brain will be a lot less strained. Unless...of course...you LIKE pretending to be outraged and posting self-righteous comments about shows you're too turned on by to stop watching. Then by all means, knock yourself out.
"deeply problematic relationships..." lol Yes, I'm sure you WILL give it a try so you can come here and post outraged comments about how deeply offended and outraged you are. I'm looking forward to reading them.
You really must feel strongly about this to post the same thing four times at once (BTW, you have a double post…
If you are referring to the post above to which you responded with this comment, I only see it once, not four times. Blame MDL, not me. As for you comment, I disagree. I think Oak tends toward quirky IRL, by nature, that's why I'd be interested to see him asked to refrain from his tics: Goofy eyebrow-raising, face-splitting smiles and a sense that he is utterly confused when something significant happens. It's toned-down a lot more in his other roles, but it's still there. If you don't see it, that's fine. I do.
P.S. I would love to see Oak in something where the director tells him "absolutely no gigantic smiles, no eyebrow twitching, no rapid-blinking eyes, no half-wit giggling and no head jerks." I would like to see if he can play a non-quirky, mainstream-type character.
Ahhh...a lovely, quiet and unlikely romance between a diligent, intelligent, thoughtful city boy and a kind, sweet, special-needs kid from the countryside.
To see Oak when he's not being so freakish, try "NightTime," which I love, and "My Friendship," which I also like. Its subject matter is challenging and Oak doesn't act intellectually-challenged, just charmingly eccentric, plus Mon co-stars with him again.
Can't wait to see Oak when the braces come off. He will look a lot different. It seems he has had them on for a longer than usual amount of time.
I really like Oak and Mon together, but Oak is a lot too much. His overacting bothers me. I kinda feel sorry for…
I agree. I want to like this but Oak's character, as directed I'm sure, comes off as a simpleton half-wit, not just an uncomplicated person from the countryside. I don't buy that Mon's character, who is intelligent and calm, would fall in love with this goofy dude whose eyebrows, eyes, mouth and head never stop moving with various tics. Sometimes he looks like he's having mini-seizures or something.
Their lack of inhibition was the whole point of the film.
Are you responding to me, Vixy? I'm not sure what you mean by your comment. Did I say they were too inhibited? I said it all happened too quickly to be believable.
Thanks for the review. I have a bit of disagreement with you though: Do you not think Doumoto is primarily to blame for the misunderstanding? As soon as the sister showed up he invites her to move in without consulting Shouta, stands gazing after her when she leaves the apartment like he is in love or something, chases after her, gives Shouta the cold shoulder several times and is generally either retarded or extremely dense in not getting that his behavior is hurtful to his partner. Shouta reacted in a way I wouldn't recommend but I don't blame him for feeling suspicious. And when Doumoto started making the moves on him after the big blow-up I would have said "nope, no sex until we get you tested a few times. God knows what you've been doing with my sister."
Saita Yasuto makes me laugh with that screech of his when he's going on about something, acting surprised or annoyed, whatever. The bathtub scene had me grinning ear to ear.
A bit of cotton candy with a clueless sister thrown in as the speckles. Pretty bad writing. The sister had no idea so was blameless. But as soon as she showed up Doumoto was attached at the hip to her, stood staring after her when she left the apartment, gave Souta the cold shoulder a few times, etc. Shouta kind of went a bit psycho but I think had reason to wonder what the hell was going on. I would have benn going wtf? too. And the script, such as it is, never gives any clue as to why Doumoto was acting that way, other than as a plot device and because the director told him to. I find plots like that annoying.
And when Doumoto started making the moves on Souta after the big blow-up I would have said "nope, no sex until we get you tested a few times. God knows what you've been doing with my sister."
Saita Yasuto is funny and talented here, but I have to wonder why he hadn't had his teeth fixed before going into acting. I am not a shallow person, but when he smiled or otherwise opened his mouth how was it possible to not be distracted by the teeth? I saw him in something else and wondered the same thing then.
I was intrigued at first by this series, but dropped it about four eps in. Writing seemed off to me, and I found the plot-lines to be predicable. And when they started having her do that stupid laugh thing I was out. Maybe I'm too old to find this interesting for very long. Now that I think about it, I found Nanno, the actor and the character, just annoying and didn't want to see anymore of her.
