Many times in life there ARE NO consequences for a bad action. There may even be positive consequences for a bad action. That is how life works. It is not fair and every story is not a moral lesson plan ready to be presented on a certain day of school to ten year-olds. And by far the majority of users are well-equipped to see what's in front of them and be pissed off by the injustice. That is part of the STORY. We live in a world where people often "get away with" doing terrible things, far worse than being mean to your bottom. Just because they don't pay doesn't mean I can't see that what occurred is fucked up and be upset by it. I am SUPPOSED to be upset by it! That is sometimes an intended effect of story-telling. My reaction reinforces my negative opinion of such people and situations in the real world.

I am an American. Back in 2003 the asshole president of this country, GW Bush, used 9/11 as an excuse to invade Iraq based on a pile of very deliberate lies and distortions. All of that has long been common knowledge. Neither he now anyone in his administration has ever paid in any way for what they did, the worst of which was killing and maiming hundreds of thousands of people. I despise GWBush. Just because he got away with what he did does not mean I not think it is OK to do such things. Your reasoning is extremely flawed.

So stop watching. Why are you helping to juice the numbers of a show you claim is corrupting our innocent youth?

There is no evidence to prove your assertions. What's more, even if there was, so what? It's the price we pay for free speech. Want to be protected by decency laws? Move to China. You condescending tone is epic.

You go off over and over about what you see as wrong with this show, and then say that you are "liking this series in general."

Your attitude is condescending. No one is able to distinguish reality from fiction except YOU of course. For the thousandth time, no matter how many times you claim othrewise, research shows people do not take their cultural, behavioral cues from fiction. And even if they did it is simply the price we pay for living in free societies where we get to write, act, sing whatever we want. don't like it? Move to China where the government will be your protective big brother.

Got to say it again: People don't come to BLs to take instruction on how to behave IRL. An abuser is going to abuse regardless of what is happening in the plot line of some series, be it out of Thailand or Hollywood. If, as you claim, this show is "sending a message" you don't like, stop watching it. That's what normal people do. Furthermore, depicting an unbalanced, unhealthy relationship is not automatically the same thing as condoning it.

BLs do not have to have tropes. It is not a requirement. It is laziness.
Of course you don't think the kid's tuition is overly expensive. You're only leaving this comment to be oppositional. If you have to take a job with a mafia family to afford tuition, it is overly expensive.

Where do you find all this information? Don't believe everything PR departments put out. Some of it might not be true.

Says right in the tags: Gay male lead, Gay Romance... so how in the world would a gay romance centered on the gay lead be a "side thing."

So why do you watch BL at all? You're not interested in gay romance, which is at their core. You don't even like romance, period. And you're definitely not into any accidental sex scenes you might run across...so this makes no sense. There are hundreds of thousands of other non-gay, non-BL, non-romance films and series of all nationalaties out there for you to watch, but you're here on an obscure comment thread on an obscure website asking specifically about a Boys Love series. Of course you get to speak on it. You get to speak on anything you want to. That is how a free society works. You don't have to have experienced every possible negative possiblity in the world in order to be allowed to have an opinion about it.

I was sexually "molested" by a medical doctor when I was 13. Do I now get to come in here and announce that no one had better use the term "hand-job" or the words "masturbate," "blow-job" or "jerk-off?" I believe that at least in some cases everyone treating incidents like mine as the end of the world just makes people feel like they SHOULD be traumatized and scarred for life when in fact it was maybe not a big deal depending on the details. And yet, in today's cultural climate I am sure if the same thing happened to me now and I were stupid enough to tell my parents or a teacher I would have people telling me how horrible and awful and traumatic and end of the world it was and it was none of those things. The guy was out of line and shouldn't have done it, but he didn't kill me.

OK, well we just disagree and that's fine. I explained in another comment here that to me, I see Miles ACTING a part while to me Apo seems to BE the part. Miles feels stiff to me, and I think he is stiff because he has decided that is how his chararcter would present. A good actor may portray a stiff character but without that sense that it is "put-on." And no, I don't feel that he's dangerous, I feel he is trying to make me think he is dangerous. Two different things.

I'm not sure but I don't think I said Miles was "bad," just that Apo was inhabiting the character more successfully than Miles and I still think that. But a lot of this could be the direction too. You never know what an actor has been told by a director and there are LOTS of bad directors out there, especially in BL World.

Furthermore, I don't like to know much about the BTS and personal lives/personalities of actors I like because doing so can erode my ability to perceive them as what they are presenting on screen and not how I feel or want them to be from off-screen, YT, Social Media propaganda.

We are in very subjective territory here though, and it is just my opinion.

There are all kinds of ways people approach other people in novels, movies, plays, etc. that I would never want to experience in person. At least in the U.S.,, to me murder is far more of a concern as to how it effects the audience because it is all over TV in the cop shows and many movies are built around it too. But as a free society that is just how it is because otherwise we get a big-brother government telling us what we can and cannot see. I'm an artist and writer so very passionate about issues of censorship...even though I mostly write press releases. lol

wow. I have not seen that happen: Someone in a thread getting pissy because someone spelled out "rape." It just makes no sense, as I said: Did that person you mention mean to say that if an astersk replaces the "a" that she or he won't know what the word is at all and will thus have no bad feelings? That is just crazy. That is someone seeking attention. What about "fuck?" That seems to get by at MDL for the most part? But most likely this person claiming to have been raped was also fucked so why aren't they freaking out over all the times people use that word? Actually, you may think of me as a sex-crazed fiend, but if a lousy story has hot sex in it I wouldn't watch it. I might FF to the sexy parts and watch those, but that would be it, which a lot of people would do. But I wouldn't comment on or rate it because I wouldn't care. I actually wonder how much of a "thing" this really is though, given that you can get online and see all the great sex of all kinds you want on porn sites. Why would anyone sit though a poorly-made show to see what they can otherwise go directly to? Just thinking out-loud here...

Hot sex is made 100 times hotter, at least to me, if it is contextualized within a well-told and well-made, believable, plausible story with some build-up and drama attached. Which is what will presumably happen with KP, if the show is faithful to the source material.

Why don't you watch BLs with "sex scenes?" Is kissing a sex scene? What if the scene hints at more to come but fades out before it happens? Is that a sex scene? And you didn't ask about sex scenes, you asked how "dark" it was? Do you not watch BLs with sex scenes because you think that gay sex is wrong, immoral, gross, dirty, nasty, what? You just want to see boys "sniff-kiss" then giggle and run away from each other? I'm asking because I care...
