Have you read the latest interview posted in a magazine or some such yesterday? Tay and New were talking about…
They are friends for more than 6 years as far as I know. So they were the first "couple" to be friends before becoming a couple. It's just very different with them. They never liked doing fan service either (not that I know much about it, I don't watch those shows where they have to eat a noodle or something until their lips touch). They are like brothers, twin brothers. I really enjoy their natural acting. It was obvious in KMA that they feel very at ease with each other (well, later on, when they were on better terms and weren't fighting anymore). But in DBK I don't sense any "chemistry". It's really sad.

Well, what should I say: I liked it. It really pulled on my heart strings. I don't watch western shows, so I don't know if the cheating plot is common or not. Still something being common is no reason for not liking it. There are hundred million cliche plots that people get crazy about. But cheating seems to be some kind of red flag. Considering the material they had to work with (Bad Romance/Together With Me) they did a rather good job developing those characters without changing them too much. After seeing Korn's behavior in Bad Romance and Together With Me (jealous, possessive, demanding, needy) this plot made perfectly sense and they had some balls to go there.

Together With Me Next Chapter did a pretty good job, even though people hated it for obvious reasons. A cheating plot is never liked. There were not much kisses either and Korn&Knock were not on good terms for most parts of the series. But the story was captivating and heart-wrenching. I'm pretty sure even the people who didn't like it watched it to the end. Dark Blue Kiss feels just shallow in comparison. I don't want to spread a bad mood, but I see no reason to keep watching this. It's one of the most boring BLs I ever came across.

This series should have changed its title to Dark Blue Balls.I really thought there's going to have a dark storyline…
LOL ... took me awhile to get that "Dark Blue Balls" joke ...

You think Pete&Kao were famous for the many kisses? They only had 3 or 4 and only two of those were somehow "real"…
The chemistry is really gone. It's so disappointing.

I have actually waited one (1) year for TayNew. But watching those fancam vids, I feel like I don't expect much…
"We, BL fans, should focus more on stories and couples we believe to have substance"
What do you mean? You don't have to be gay to pull it off. Like Matthew Daddario and Harry Shum Jr. in Shadowhunters. Great chemistry, great friendship. They just went for it. Harry is married with a child, Matthew had a girlfriend. It honestly annoys me how this is supposed to be such a big deal (only between men though!!!). I lately heard a lesbian complain about that guys are constantly hitting on her girlfriend even though they are together and kissing, holding hands in public, so the guys should be aware of their relationship status. So again we see that if two girls are kissing and hugging it's just "cute" and normal and no big deal, while if two men are doing it, then it's the end of the world and regarding acting it needs some special skill and will power and committment and I don't know what to pull it off even though you're a DAMN actor and that's your job.
But then again the whole genre is about girls drooling over good looking heterosexual boys and fantasizing about them being in a cute relationship in real life. I never understood what that shipping thing is good for. What does it have to do with your life if two people you will never meet are together or not? Like I always say this isn't about realtstic gay relationships.

You should watch some videos about their friendship, then you will understand why so many people like them. I don't ship people in real life and I don't want them to be a couple, but a friendship like this is prove that there are beautiful things in this world. Because of them I got some trust in humanity back.

I kind of disagree about the ok if you don't want to kiss... are they actors or not? Isn't it their job or not?…
I meant if they don't want to do it, then don't do it. Don't make a sequel. But if you make one, be committed. It seems the director wanted it like that? Jesus ...

I didn't mean that they are not on good terms. They have a beautiful friendship as far as I know, but they always seemed to be a bit uncomfortable playing a couple. So the director wanted to focus on story and their acting? The acting doesn't impress me at all. Tay was doing such a great job in "3 will be free". Seeing him now act as Pete seems like a step back. That role/character combined with this childish plot isn't really a challenge.

There will be a season 3 with the same cast. Hopefully they will not mess it up *fingers crossed*

Type's internal monologues from the book should be included in the show. That would be a very easy way to explain…
It seems they made some changes from the novel. So I wonder where this is going. It's more on the lighter side that's for sure. But considering the rather heavy topics it's an odd choice to not going more into depths. Even without inner monologue you can manage to tell a heart-wrenching story.

I think production is doing the best they can given the circumstances. They had to condense a long novel series…
There are a lot of scenes which show a rather slow pace. I also feel like some dialogues and scenes were repetitive, especially in the beginning. The whole "I hate gays" scenes for example. Yeah, we got it. Some talks with side characters are also unnecessary long. They could use their time better, that's for sure. Often they are just standing and breathing like what to think to say now. Especially Mew seems to take some seconds before he delivers his dialogue.

Long post alertIf it possible read the novel you will get a picture of what Type is thinking, 1 He hate gay because…
I know those things you listed above. But it doesn't explain much, for example why Type is even attracted to Tharn in the first place. Imagine what kind of conflict this could be: he hates gay people but thinks about being gay himself. Is it a result of the assault (it does happen that assaulted children are attracted to men later, in those cases they often show over sexualized behavior) or was he gay to begin with? How is he dealing with this? What are his thoughts? Like someone else said, the inner monologues of the novel are missing. I also read after they were having sex in the novel he becomes very homophobic (even more than before), which I think would make much more sense and would show us that inner conflict. They could have done a better job, really. Also Gulf's acting is a bit over the top, considering the complexity of this character.

On Dark Blue Kiss Nov 2, 2019
So now that's a rant. I'm the last person who cares about kisses/bed scenes etc. There are many BL series with some good hot scenes that I cannot bring myself to like, because of the story and/or the characters. So for me the amount of kisses etc. is not a criteria for loving and enjoying a series though if the kisses are good, it makes a series even better. But when they tease us with such scenes without showing anything I get very angry. I feel like they put some kind of age restriction on the series (15+??? Really? More like 6+). What are they thinking? Are they professional actors/writers or not? If TayNew don't want to kiss (I understand that, they are good friends after all and may feel uncomfortable) why even bother making this series? At this point there is no hope for a love scene or even a kiss. They had countless changes and wasted them. This is really like Sotus 2, where a couple who was supposed to be together for a long time behaved like they never kissed before. I'm sure there are some young viewers out there who still enjoy this, but for me, it became a joke. I'm just glad that I'm pretty new to the TayNew couple. If I imagine I waited a year for THIS – the disappointment would kill me for sure. I lately watched an interview with the main couple of MODC and they talked about the intimate scenes. It was obvious it was rather challenging for them, but they tried their best and just went for it. You know why? Because they take their job serious and want to give us a good series.

You think Pete&Kao were famous for the many kisses? They only had 3 or 4 and only two of those were somehow "real" kisses. Still stiff and not that great. I saw people everywhere complain about those kisses. They were famous for the great and very unique chemistry and connection between them, mostly based on their deep friendship in real life. But well, there is not much left of it now. I think I will drop this. SunMork are boring too, sorry. The actors are sure great people in real life, but they lack any real charisma to draw the viewer in. Compare them to Ming&Kit, Forth&Beam, Tin&Can, Korn&Knock etc. The spark is missing.

I was someone who usually preferred taking DBK's side whenever I saw people complaining about PeteKao's parts.…
LOL. Exactly my thoughts. I have nothing to add. It's so disappointing. I wonder how hard can it be to come up with a better plot than this. Our Skyy was pretty nice though. No idea what they were thinking writing/producing Dark Blue Kiss. Apparently Tay said in an interview there will be no kiss, but I don't know if this was a joke or if it's a false rumor. At this point I believe it. There will be no spicy scene. Such a waste. Sun/Mork aren't doing it for me either.

So ... I'm back now. Don't know what that rape discussion is all about, but Jesus ...!
1) Type gets grossed out, when a man (a gay man) is touching him, because he was assaulted by a man (well, a pedophile) as a child. Okay. But it's different with Tharn. Why? No idea.
2) He hates Tharn, but well, somehow he doesn't because he is a good guy. So now he is okay with getting kissed by him in the shower and ... well, this was a BJ, wasn't it? We are all cool now! Easy, easy ...
3) He gets treated like a homophobic (and being homophobic is a serious crime in this world) and Tharn saves his reputation. Now he owns him. And what better way is there to pay him back than having sex with him? Great idea. I must admit, I would have never come up with something like this.
4) Now we have sex. Because: why not? And it's good. And then we do it again, because, yeah, you guessed it right: why not?

LOL
I‘m not hating, but the plot is beyond stupid. It's impossible to find any psychological depth in it. They should have been more careful with the physical aspect of the story and giving it more time to develop. They could have made it work, but they weren't going for a deep story in the first place I guess. The views show they got it right after all.
