Are you serious? I loved the series (Yuzhou forever <3), but the storyline was very questionable. As far as I remember Gu Hai raped Bai Lou Yin and later on he raped his girlfriend while Bai Lou Yin had to watch. But they didn't show that in the series of course. This was one of the most toxic relationships you can think of.

Doing that stuff (kissing, touching) to someone who is asleep will always be considered wrong (no consent, because one person is obviously NOT conscious). I don't think there can be any explanation that justify this. How it looks at the moment Tharn was doing it for revenge, so Type will freak out the next day thinking they had sex (I assume). I personally don't care though. It's not that serious, but I understand why people get upset. I'm not. It's a story and I thought that scene was hot LOL. But my mind is twisted.

I never said you shouldn't raise your voice. No idea how you came to that conclusion. I complained about such things enough in the last 10 years and I'm tired of it. That doesn't mean others shouldn't.

I'm not siding with anyone here. I have a weak spot for Mew LOL. I just think that scene at the end of ep1 was not thought out that well.

Don't know if you read Japanese/Korean BL manga, but falling-in-love-with-your-rapist is a thing there. Some people find it disturbing, some find it hot. The human mind is twisted. Rape fantasies are pretty popular (also in the hetero genre). I'm too old to get upset about it. It's clear that all those people enjoying this stories don't want to get raped in real life (especially not by an ugly looking guy).

I don't have any problems either, but having a character who was molested in the past (that's why he hates gays) and then gets molested AGAIN by his future love interest is a terrible start. I doesn't matter how you look at it, that's just not okay.

Define "mature". I didn't read the novel, but I'm pretty sure this is some kind of smutty trash story I read back in the day, when I started to get into fanfictions. Most of BL stories are based on such trash material *cough* Addicted/Heroin *cough* Badly written and controversial from an author who has not much psychological knowledge. Don't expect emotional depths. That said, I enjoyed the last scene and thought it was hot like hell! People should just know what this is: a story. A questionable one, but hopefully one that keeps us viewers interested. No need to be all defensive about it.

Your argument makes no sense. People have a right to criticize a series, otherwise every series would be rated with a solid 10, which at the end would lead to more people getting interested in it and then ranting about it, because they discover it’s not there cup of tea. I’m a working adult, I don’t have the time to do „research“. That said, by watching the trailer it was pretty obvious in what direction this would go. People not liking and criticizing it, is okay. But there are some who just never stop, watch every episode and come here to complain again and again. That’s just stupid. If this series will get worse regarding consent issues, then this comment section will get ugly. In that case I‘m out.

Unfortunately many people enjoy rape fantasies espescially in the BL genre. Its a while since 50 Shades of Grey became a bestselling book, but people still enjoy the virgin-meets-millionaire plot. This has nothing to do with age and time, but only with shitty taste. I criticized this series even before it aired. PTSD is a very difficult topic and I highly doubted that a BL author is doing it justice. We will see... That the main lead is molesting the other lead who was molested before is really the worst start you can imagine LOL.

Watch TharnType. That will be fun LOL. Very controversial and problematic story and a spin off of Love by Chance. If the scenes are hot enough though, people will love it . Im not judging, I will watch it too ;P I will tell you what people like: cheesy, cliche and simple told stories. Some rape (fantasies) dont hurt either. What they dont like: complex, well told, not cliche, but real stories with real and complex emotions. Thats how it is. I dont blame the producers and the writers if they always put out more or less the same stuff with similar plots. They must play it safe. In Theory of Love for example we had once again a weak bottom who had to endure a lot in the name of love.

Ugh, it wasn't that bad. It's a story after all, no reason to take it too serious, but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth for sure. The whole concept of this story is very problematic.

I doubt this is a dream and I really don't get that scene. It wasn't shown before that Tharn was attracted or in love with Type, so why is he suddenly saying things like "Why am I attracted to you?" and kissing him so passionately? If this is his game, then I guess he will tell him they had sex even though they hadn't or something like this. I was very skeptical when I saw the trailer and I wonder if they can make this work. I mean, let's be honest, someone doesn't like gay people and you do what? Trying to screw him? Like that's helping in this kind of situation?

Don't know what to think about this, but I didn't skip a second so that's a good sign I guess. Some of the dialogue is cringy though. And what was that last scene?!?!

I normally get mad when a bad series is hyped so much *cough* Love by Chance *cough* But in this case I don’t care at all, because Off and Gun are two sweethearts. So I‘m pretty sure the popularity of the actors play a big role in all this hype. I‘m just honestly surprised that there is so less criticism about the story and the characters. The LGBT Community is all about „healthy“ relationships. Normally they would trash such a series merciless.

Well, thats how the world works. The most popular series are always extremely good or extremely bad.

I think watching the Kiss Me Again cut is enough. There are 3 parts on YouTube. It's only two and a half hours long.

Thank you for the link, but I have seen this trailer. Gulf seems to be a rookie actor and it shows. Also a PTSD storyline can always go horribly wrong. That kind of storyline needs some heavy drama and maybe an open end, but it looks like they are going in a different direction. I also feel like there is no chemistry between the leads. Still I hope for the best and I will watch it for sure!
