lol, I saw that too, even the tires look completely new under the thin dirt layer.
It's honestly so funny, because every 5 years old car would be more believable. Those cars seem fresh out of the factory.

I love how those cars are so dirty outside as if the sprayed them with some mud water, but inside they are high tech and so clean with flawless leather.
I swear my car would be a more believable post apocalyptic vehicle. It's much dirtier inside for sure lol

I'm still convinced A Leh is by far the bigger man.
His only fault: Doing his job he was trained to do (and trusting an organization that basically raised and brainwashed him from a young age).
That may have led to Lin Zai getting into dangerous situations. But most of the time it's Lin Zai who endangered his own life and A Leh's life.
He ate that fruit, so A Leh had to carry him, flee from a horde of zombies with him on the back. He let his guard down when they met those cannibals, while A Leh never trusted them and wanted to leave fast. He ate the fruit again, and endangered his own life and the life of A Leh. If A Leh wasn't such a good fighter, both had become cannibal food by now.
This time Lin Zai – again – endangers his own life. They say for a reason: The road to hell is paved with good intentions. How will he save his brother if he is dead? Looks like Yao wants to get rid of A Leh, so basically A Leh's life is in danger too.
Yes, Lin Zai saved A Leh twice. But talking about the 1st time: He did it, because he saw his brother in him. He even dreamed about A Leh lying on the ground, and when he turned him around, he had his brother's face.
So talking about A Leh: He rushed to him saying he changed his mind. He most likely wanted to tell him, he will abandon his mission. But Lin Zai made it clear, he wants to end it with him. Kudos to A Leh for loving him so much that he turned around the car immediately to bring him his medicine just in case something happens in the future.

I'm pretty sure Lin Zai fears A Leh will kill his brother, if he finds out the truth, because A Leh doesn't believe zombies can turn back. That's a reasonable fear, since he has seen how A Leh killed Brother Li without a second thought. I get that. So pushing him away may be the only solution he came up with.

We will see what happens tomorrow. Even though I'm very annoyed by Lin Zai, if his brother dies, it will be a very, very sad episode. I still hope they can save him, but I don't know how without making Yao the hero which I would hate.

Almost zero plot in this episode, but they did a beautiful job with the music and the emotions.

In the description is written that the story is about two corrupt pharmaceutical giants seeking to take over the world under the guise of vaccine development, but we don't know anything about this organizations. A Leh works for one, Yao worked for the other. That's it. We weren't introduced to any powerful main villains yet.
I wonder if we will get a season 2.
How can they wrap up this story in only 4 more episodes? The next two are still taking place in the camp.

Well ...
I feel that the background stories of the characters are very cliche.
First of all, we have a lot of bullying, because ... why not? It's Korea after all. I have seen so many bullying in Korean drama that it's enough for a lifetime (or maybe two).
The gloomy student gets hit by his powerful father. Yes, not new. But he is also a super fighter, because ... why not? He is so cool and stubborn and difficult. Great. He seems to be the obsessive type. It's getting better. The teacher is a dull closet gay who cares about his students. That's his whole personality, and I guess that's enough. Then we have the guy who has to pay for the hospital bills of his grandma, because ... why not? It's not a Korean drama unless there are some dead parents who left their young children an unimaginable amount of debt or a relative who is on his dying bed and they have to pay for them. Then throw in a loan shark and more violence and teachers who don't care and we have ... this.
Funny how in those teacher/student relationship the student is often taller. I guess that's part of the kink.
I'm getting too old to enjoy something like this.

So now it's official: Lin Zai's life is in danger, and the probability of him dying is high.

How did that turn out, little Lin Zai? You almost died for nothing, when you value your life so much. A Leh doesn't care about you and your well-being. So glad you trusted Yao and didn't even notice that he is taking your life away slowly. That needs a special kind of stupid. And for those who say he wanted to help his brother: yeah, how is he doing that if he is dead?

Now A Leh has to give him his blood. Look how less he cares about you, Lin Zai. You feel like hurting him again? He even abandons his mission for you, so you can have your boring life and be safe and stable (until zombies overrun the camp like they overran the last camp, or until you trust the next mf who comes along and is nice to you). Happy now?

I'm glad the story develops like this though. It was the only reasonable way. But I was sure they would redeem Yao. At this point it seems impossible. Looks like he is trying to kill A Leh now.

My rating of this series, the enjoyment, the rewatch value - everything depends on the outcome. They can make this a brilliant series, but if Yao and his lover get a happy end, if his research will be successful (doesn't look like it at all at the moment), I'm done with this series and won't look back.

I lost trust in the writing, since introducing a 2nd couple was already unnecessary and just done to check all BL boxes. But if the lover dies, I will be okay with it. Then everything makes sense.

Btw: Yao's lover doesn't seem so bad. Yao is the problem. Perhaps if the lover finds out what Yao did and that he needs endless supply of blood, he will take his own life. That will devastate Yao and bring a good closure.

He is a man.
His reaction was realistic. Men never understand how terrible rape is for women, they even side with the rapist. There are studies how often they lie to cover for their buddies. Their first reaction is always: he didn't do it. They are crying online about how many lives were ruined by false allegations. You won't find a guy in this world who will go out of his way to support a woman he doesn't even know in a rape incident. It's of course different if he is involved with the girl, if he likes her, if it's his girlfriend, his daughter.
Women like to live in their fairy tale world where men are empathic beings and think like women. It's time to wake up.

Serious question: Is this a series that should appeal to Gen Z?
I get the impression those main leads are supposed to be quirky and relatable by being clumsy in their social interaction (especially the guy who cannot hold eye contact with the girl). But it's so ... forced. I can't relate to that, and I'm an introvert myself. It's so unnatural and everything is so slow, and the way they talk ... it feels they are never really getting to the point. It's not fun, it's not relaxing, it's not exciting. It's like watching paint dry. Everything is so slice of life and causal, but not in a good way. I'm digging the slow pace, I'm interested in how their love story will develop, but then you have characters with the charisma of a wet towel who talk about damn nothing. Everything about their studies is boring too.

I read some comments and it's funny how people find excuses for Lin Zai's behavior as if trusting Yao is reasonable and trusting A Leh is not. As if there is only one right choice, trust Yao or A Leh.

A smart person would talk to A Leh like an adult and be cautious of Yao.

Go back watch ep 10. A Leh knows Yao activated the alarm and tried to kill them. Lin Zai should know too, he was there.

Imagine trusting someone who tried to kill you. Apparently, that's reasonable, because he once went to the same university as you and he is just so good with words.

Trusting A Leh who kidnapped you, even though he told you, he would give his life to protect you, and showed on different occasions that he can read people well (think about the cannibals) is madness, so it seems.

Yes, at the moment, I would also help Yao to save my brother. But the brother wasn't in the picture from the beginning.

Going with A Leh to that organization is a whole different story. I would do it because I'm curious, I would want to help humanity, not because my lover told me so.


On a sidenote: When I read that Lin Zai is so brave and great because he is just a normal dude! You know, every hero/fighter started out being a normal dude.

He doesn't know what will happen when he goes to the organization, but he promised him to give his life to save him. Why are people forgetting that constantly? Why are they behaving like this is worth nothing, being ready to give your life for someone else?

It was clear from the beginning that those two aren't a good match.
Lin Zai knows he is weak - great! If he now also understands he is stupid, I will be impressed.
I still don’t see any fault in A Leh’s behavior. From what we know about his upbringing (and unfortunately, we don’t know much) he turned out pretty good. This kiss scene was again very aggressive like the love scene. Lin Zai pushing away A Leh's hand in the previous episode when he wanted to help grandma and saying his hands are too strong, he should be careful not to hurt her, was really unnecessary. But well, we know A Leh is a bit rough, but he is not violent, otherwise he would have smacked Lin Zai after that lip bite for sure! First Lin Zai gives in, then he fights him off. He already knows he will stop if he fights back. No need to bite his lips off. Really. And look at A Leh's reaction: he was defeated, not angry.
And the biggest elephant in the room: A Leh and his mission he won't give up.
It’s astonishing how Lin Zai has zero interest in saving humanity, because even if this organization isn’t trustworthy, I’m sure they care a lot about their science showing results. Yao only cares about his lover. Now imagine, if Lin Zai dies, and he really looked bad at the end of the episode, he would have died for saving the lover, because I get the feeling Yao can’t save his brother. It seems to me that this research will not be successful, unless they are able to create artificially whatever Lin Zai has in his blood. Otherwise, they will need endless supply of blood, which is impossible to get. The lover was surprised Yao found an immunogen, because apparently they weren’t even sure they existed, which basically means the whole research was just a theory to begin with. Also, and that's interesting, Lin Zai isn't immune in the sense he just isn't affected by a zombie bite, no, there was some kind of mutation happening in his body, and that's why his wounds heal faster. I wonder if this will be more relevant in the future.
So Lin Zai who doesn’t want to sacrifice himself for science and prefers staying in the camp where he can chat and eat with his friends and do laundry all day long, could die just to prolong the life of Yao’s lover. The irony. (I know he wants to save his brother).
But A Leh is the inconsiderate a**hole.
No, seriously, A Leh is willing to do better, he is willing to grow, to work on that relationship. He listens to Lin Zai. He said he wanted space, he gave him space. After the break-up he didn't even dare to come near Lin Zai and his friends. Why? Isn't he the bad guy, the aggressive guy, the dangerous guy who only does what he wants?
I really don't know what else someone can expect from him. And Lin Zai indirectly accusing him of being jealous, because he mentions Yao constantly, when it's obvious A Leh doesn't trust him, is also such b*tch behavior. A Leh knows that Yao stole the car and left them to die. Just little Lin Zai is too stupid to understand that.
So yeah, I'm not mad though. It is what it is. The characters are well written. That's all that counts.

It's also strange that the organization Yao worked for tried to kill him by sending soldiers with poisonous arrows after him. We are in the apocalypse. Society got basically destroyed. Why do they care so much about a mad scientist who run away with his lover? They are against this type of research. Why?
I would be very surprised and I still think it's a lame plot development if they make Yao's research work. I hope it fails, and the lover and brother dies, even though I feel bad for the brother and Lin Zai.

You know, this is a typical moral dilemma.

Lin Zai has the potential to save humankind if they can make a vaccine with his blood.
What would you do?
I don't think you're familiar with the anime/manga Dororo, but that was the biggest moral riddle I ever came across.
They basically sold a child to demons who inflicted unimaginable pain on that child to save a country that flourished afterwards. So one child had to suffer to make a country flourish, many new people were born and had a good life. When the child later claimed his body, defeated the demons eating him alive, the country went downhill, people suffered and died.
So what to do?
Some said the child is just one sacrifice for the greater good and has no right to claim his own life. So it's morally right to make the child suffer. I said, if the suffering never happened, the country would have never flourished, the people would have never be born. Why has the child no right for his life? What good is there in something that's created from suffering?

In this scenario though, even if Lin Zai suffers and die, he can save people who's existence wasn't linked to his suffering in the first place if that makes sense. He just sacrifices himself to save people. I would do it, honestly. If there is a chance to save others, I would sacrifice myself.

Like I already mentioned, that was the plot in The Last Of Us, where the guy who brought the girl to the scientists to find a cure then discovers she will be killed. He saved her, because he loved her like a daughter, and she never forgave him. She was ready to sacrifice her life for the greater good.

Not our Lin Zai though! Nope.

I mean, it's not an easy choice, but yeah. It's interesting that he has zero motivation to be helpful in finding a vaccine. He now is motivated because he hopes to save his brother. I mean, I don't blame him, but he is a coward.

He started being distant after A Leh killed Brother Li and observed Sister Chen. He obviously was scared A Leh would kill her if she woke up as a zombie. And well, he would have done that.
Since then they aren't lovey dovey, but in this episode he was especially distant.

Is this really about choice A or B?
This organization A Leh works for is bad, no doubt.
"People are treated like tools", said Yao, and I believe that.
But the solution cannot be to trust Yao now.
That guy would kill Lin Zai without a 2nd thought just to prolong the life of his lover for a damn hour!

I would also taking part in the experiment, but I would not push away A Leh like Lin Zai has done it. This is just childish.
What's A Leh supposed to do? To kidnap him again? That's the only thing I can think of. (Well, we are on the same page here, I read your other comment later). If you don't trust your lover at all, then I guess braking up was the right choice.
A Leh is pretty reasonable. He has his emotion under control, and he is also pretty smart. To think that the fishy guy who tried to kill you is more trustworthy, is honestly mind blowing stupid. But even the grandma fell for it!
Well, I guess at the end Yao will redeem himself, save the world and his precious lover and A Leh is the bad mercenary.

What's the common opinion about Lin Zai's behavior?
I read some comments but couldn't figure it out.
Looks to me like he hurt A Leh on purpose without really meaning what he said. He was crying when A Leh told him he loves him. You could see his eyes getting watery. He wants to push him away, because he doesn't want him to find out about the experiment. Even when A Leh at night came close to him and he got up fast and tried to get away from him, I though it's because he lost a lot of blood, which most likely means he is pale, a bit sick or even cold. He just doesn't want A Leh to get suspicious. I thought that was the reason why he constantly escaped when he came near him.
Sure, what he said ... there is some truth in it. But I didn't think he was 100% serious. I thought it's all about making sure A Leh won't find out, because – and Lin Zai is at least that smart, yeah! – he knows A Leh will be against it.

If I go with you, will I die?” and A Lie never gave him a clear answer.

Because he doesn't know the answer. But he said he will protect him with his life.
So this is at least some guarantee that he will make it out alive.
It's the same plot as in The Last Of Us, and we know Joel saved Ellie.

What pisses me off: the 2nd couple.
I hate both of them. There was no need for them to begin with. They should have made the zombie his brother not his lover, but then we have two brothers to save. So since they are officially the 2nd couple, they will get a happy end.
And that's so damn lame.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Yao finds a cure, saves the world, and will be riding with his lover into the sunset.
Ugh. I don't like that for some reason. They would work well as villains, but we are supposed to root for them and I'm not feeling it.

I watched the preview.
If they keep this up, I will start rooting for A Lie finding someone better than Lin Zai.
While I enjoy those stories with though guys who are misunderstood but have a good heart, I'm getting tired of Lin Zai's behavior.
I wouldn't know what A Lie did wrong until know.
Let's see ...
When Lin Zai found him, he said "Go! Leave me alone!" So he didn't want a stranger to be involved, he didn't beg for help. He is selfless.
Later on he saved Lin Zai, Sister Chen and Brother Li.
He then kidnapped Lin Zai, well, because he has a mission, and the mission itself - finding someone who is immune to create a vaccine – is a righteous one.
He threatens Lin Zai with words, but he never hurt him. Instead he protected him. His own health was suffering, his life got into danger (followed by a horde of zombies) when he had to save Lin Zai after he stupidly ate this fruit. So again we see A Lie is righteous, selfless and no coward.
When he heard that Brother Li and Sister Chen are in the industrial building, he was very eager to go there to save them, while apparently no one else in the camp was up for the task. I'm sure the grandma told them already. Dao wanted to send two other people A Lie said no, because he didn't want to endanger others, and I assume, he didn't want to have to look after them. Again, he is a good guy. Could have used the people from the camp as bait like Yao did!
He then killed brother Li. Well, he was a zombie. He then observed Sister Chen, which again, it's understandable. Is he supposed to save zombies now?
What did he wrong? When did he show that he has no heart?
Now look at Lin Zai, who doesn't want to sacrifice himself for saving mankind, and is more concerned about his well-being than anything else. Read that again. I'm pretty sure, if A Lie would be immune, he would let everyone experiment on him without a second thought.
But Lin Zai is worried about dying.
Now Yao comes into the picture, a fishy guy who activated the alarm and lured the zombies in. He tried to kill them.
But let's trust Yao.
So Lin Zai doesn't want to go with A Lie so people can experiment on him, but he is now helping Yao with his experiment even though it makes him weak. Okay.
Just that I get this right: A Lie is the problem, the bad guy, the one you can't trust.
I will say it out loud: Lin Zai is stupid, easily to manipulate, acts like he is so high and mighty, when in fact he is not. If he doesn't get his shit together, I will start to dislike him.

So, I haven't seen the episodes yet, only the preview, but yeah, I'm pissed.
