This is such a boring, unappealing and very silly plot, that couldn't catch my interest at all. A waste of time. But damn ...! The leads are gorgeous, the chemistry is chemistrying, and the sex scenes were out of this world. One of the best if not the best I have ever seen. Explains at least the high rating. For the gooners out there, don't miss this one!
This show doesn't deserve an 8.1 rating. It's probably a 6.5 at best. Thier fan base is rating this a 10/10.Watch…
Lol, which other companies? The whole BL industry is honestly a joke ... A money grab. Nothing else. BL is as much about good storytelling as K-Pop is about good music.
This series is forgettable. But TayNew made it work. How convenient for GMMTV and those lazy writers and directors that they have actors with great chemistry and actings skills who are also committed to give us their A-game even though the script is weak. TayNew deserve better.
Boat was always bad, but Oat was great in MyStubborn. I was looking forward to Knot because of him. Both are bad in this series. Don't know what happened.
Bad Buddy was very strong in the first half: good introduction of all the characters, we learned about their feelings and struggles, and then the emotions reached their peak in that legendary rooftop kiss. The episode after: a step back, suddenly nobody was willing to admit there were feelings involved (even after that crazy kiss!), we got filler scenes, then finally we got a confession. After that we got repetitive scenes and lots of product advertisement. Then there was a conflict with the parents and it ended.
A Dog and a Plan is written very similar. Decent introduction of the characters (even though ep 3 was already a filler episode), emotions boiling up, issue with ex boyfriend resolved, and finally we got their kissing/love scene. Then guess what? They went a step back, we got hurt feelings and confusion and finally a confession! Since then we got a conflict with parents, repetitive scenes, fillers and product advertisement.
That's GMMTV writing for you.
I think even 2gether was similar. I just remember it was strong in the first half, and then it felt apart.
Lol it’s only a small handful of people here on MDL who dislike slice of life stories ( and of course the usual…
It's not slice of life. It's a romcom.
A slice of life is a story or art form that shows the normal, everyday experiences of real or realistic characters. It focuses on ordinary routines and simple interactions instead of a big dramatic plot.
Those aren't real and realistic characters. They are written that way to create tension necessary for the love story (poor wild guy vs. rich posh guy). It doesn't focus on ordinary routines, it focus on the development of the love story since this is a romantic comedy with the clear goal of two (or four) people finding their love and getting together at the end.
The story lacks clear direction since episode 6 or 7. So that's what you now call "slice of life" since we just see random scenes of those people being in a relationship with some generic obstacles they have to overcome. It's lazy and weak writing. They clearly run out of ideas. You can't just assume a romcom that runs out of ideas is suddenly "slice of life".
This is engaging even though it's like a wattpad story coming to life. But the one guy looks constipated all of the time, and the other one looks malnourished. I have a hard time enjoying Chinese dramas because of those crazy beauty standards. Their actors look like underdeveloped malnourished children with doll like faces. It's not much better with the women. The infantilization is getting out of hand. Are they trying to make it AI in the near future? Are we supposed to get used to AI faces and doll like actors?
Honestly, I don't know what's wrong with you people if you enjoy so much suffering. But you only enjoy it on screen, I guess, otherwise the birth rate wouldn't be so low worldwide. All that whining about destroyed lives, dreams not fulfilled - yeah, just don't f*ck and makes kids. How is that? How am I supposed to feel sorry for people who dig their own graves? That said, the woman being treated like that on her job interview because she has kids is strange. So you're not supposed to have kids in Korea? She looks like 45, sorry, even if everyone behaves like she looks 30. It seems having kids in Korea is a crime? At the beginning nobody knew how old her kids were, so this is not only about teenage pregnancy. I love Yoon Sang Hyun since Secret Garten, but I can't be fooled that much to believe he once looked like Lee Do Hyun. That boy is pretty beyond believe, his older character looks like his face melted. Also, thinking the super gene boy is always around young girls, and those girls (even his own daughter) are not falling for him is not believable. I know he acts a bit crazy, but he is nice, soft and damn good looking. Who wouldn't fall for him? How the girls act so cocky around him instead of being smitten by him is unrealistic, when you see in any other drama how girls gush over pretty boys. And Lee Do Hyun is damn pretty. Then the love interest of the mother. Instead of showing us there is a real rival so she has to choose, they make him such a fishy guy so there is no real competition for Dae Yeong. It's all a bit cheesy, sorry. How he resolves everything with the kids and befriends them. It's too easy. And again, just don't have sex. Like ... hello? How can you whine about your self-inflicted problems so much? Dae Yeong with all his drinking and his melted face - it's a shame. Again, get a grip, you put your d*ck into her, so ... guess what? Ugh. Sorry for being vulgar. I'm tired of all that whining, that's all. Especially at this age. The children are almost grown, just live your life now. You're still young. Even people without children can't fulfill their dreams. IT'S CALLED LIFE!

I just looked, there aren't as many series especially when you think after Only Friends the quality went down

That's all I want to know. I don't care about the story.

Still, TayNew are lovely. I have seen much worse. This is still enjoyable.
