Another scene I liked a lot: When Toto told Kanit he wouldn't want a boyfriend that's fake like him. Oha! I don't know if he really meant it like it sounded (or if the translation was right), but Kanit is indeed fake, especially when he talks about his dream-life with his dream-boyfriend. He has that fake attitude. Everything is so perfect: his apartment, his job, his boyfriend. He sits straight up, looks beautiful, beautiful body, perfect clothes. It comes across as forced and fake. They two come from different worlds, that's not a new concept in love stories or BL stories. But it works so well here, because of their great chemistry. They are so different (they even look so different from the skin color to the body type), but they click so well. Tay looks indeed like a dog, while New looks like some kind of art piece carved from marble. I just hope New doesn't give in too fast. I love their bickering and his grossed out faces. I want more of that.
Okay, I'm rewatching, that explains the many comments. I love how Kanit makes fun of Toto for not having a boyfriend. "Nobody wants you" - and how seriously defensive Toto got. I just love New's face when he teases him. Also, the last scene on the balcony, when he made fun of Toto being sensitive - that was such a genius scene. For a moment I thought now it's getting cheesy, but nope. New's attitude was so fun and alluring at the same time. Loved it. There dynamic and their interactions are great. You can sense the annoyance burning in Tay when he gets teased. Reminds me a lot of their real life interactions.
I love the humor, and some of it may be unintentional, but that scene where they were sitting in the bar, the owner hitting on Kanit, Toto looking extra hot, cheeks a bit red, hair messy, making a deal with Kanit, sexy music playing in the background - and then next scene they are in Home Depot shopping like an old couple, Toto behaving like a nagging wife. That really took me out!
OKAY OKAY LISTEN TO ME - May be I'm overhyped but finally feeling like the old GMMTV BL GIRLS again ðŸ˜ðŸ˜-…
Saaaame! Seeing those two again made me age backwards. It's true: old times were just better. Everything was easier, more enjoyable, more fun, more exciting, more real. I can't wait for the kiss. The tension! While we have BLs left and right, where the boys aren't holding back, I'm fangirling here like crazy over some lips almost touching and a hand wandering from the shoulder to the cheek! Ahhhhhh ...
THIS BL IS A MASTERPIECE!💯 A MASTERPIECE!💯 A MASTERPIECE!💯 A MASTERPIECE!💯 A MASTERPIECE!💯 A MASTERPIECE!💯…
That's the way! LMAO I don't care if others like a series or not. But in this case I'm just laughing at every criticism while having the best time of my life.
I agree with you. It just isn't intense enough. The Trailer feels more intense than the actual scenes. Especially…
I was thinking about I Told Sunset About You while writing my comment. It was a series I wasn't crazy about, but the rawness and gay energy was through the roof. Both actors portrayed their feelings incredible well. PP is openly gay, and even though I don't think you have to be gay to portray a gay character, it helps.
This story isn't like that. It's a typical cute BL who tries to be a bit edgy. Those two don't have real chemistry, it's the performative buddy chemistry we all know from GMMTV actors.
EDIT: The first trailer/promo was great. The 2nd trailer was already too tame.
Sorry guys, for not hyperventilating and being all philosophical about this series, but they could have done a better job with Ep2. It's a beautiful series, especially compared to other series in this genre, no doubt. But they messed up the editing and the characters aren't that great. I rewatched the whole episode, and them playing and singing together would have been the perfect moment to show their hands and shoulders touching, feelings arising, shyness and awkwardness kicking in. Nope. Instead they used that moment to promote their OST. The whole "they are falling in love" plot was done by showing us a music videos where they were smiling at each other and fooling around, when in the "real scenes" Tanrak is hardly ever laughing that much. Later we see him thinking about Barth and how their hand touched during a movie night (which was a scene they didn't bother to elaborate more, and if someone blinks he misses it). Basically some flashbacks with music were supposed to show us their developing feelings. In general, I'm impressed by Gemini's acting and effort to show attraction and chemistry, since I always thought Forth is the better actor. I won't complain about Forth's acting, because I think it's the character that's the problem. He behaves and talks (even the tone of his voice) like an old man. He sighs too much. It honestly annoys me how often you hear him sighing. I guess they were going with a priest attitude: all holy, calm, in control. I don't like it. Most of the time it looks like he is annoyed by Barth. Again, we can interpret this otherwise, but that's the problem here: That you have to create your own interpretation and fantasy, because what's shown on the screen isn't sufficient. We can assume they are teasing each other, when Tanrak say they aren't friends or he just felt sorry for Barth, but then again, there is something about his character I don't find cute. I would find it cute, if he would deliver it differently in a more charming and teasing way, not with that robotic smile and almost creepy and forced friendliness. Also, I sense zero chemistry from Forth. Zero. That they both come across 100% straight isn't helping either. There is no gay energy. It's still a beautiful series, but it's not as raw or realistic or passionate or engaging as I thought it would be after watching ep1. With the characters written like this, especially Forth, I don't see any passion arising on the horizon. Even the last scene where he was obviously troubled was somehow not intense enough. He was just sighing away his troubles again. He will get through this story by sighing a lot and smiling creepily. Could have been better. Sorry.
can someone explain to me what did he mean by the *the answer is the lost one, because the lost one always tell…
It's a riddle. You can interpret it the way you want, but you can solve it logically. We have 3 people: Believer - Lover - Lost One
One always tells the truth One sometimes tells the truth One always lies
Believer says Lover always tells the truth The Lover says Lost one always lies The Lost one says Believer doesn’t always tell the truth
Let's start: Believer says Lover tells the truth. So this is either a) true or b) a lie. We go with a. That means what the Lover says must be true, since he always tells the truth, said the Believer. The Lover says the Lost One always lies. The Lost One says the Believer doesn't always tell the truth, which then must be a lie. So in this scenario there is basically no option left for the Believer (always tells the truth, sometimes tells the truth, always lies). So now we have a problem and go full circle. We go with b) the Believer tells lies. What he said about the Lover is than a lie, the Lover isn't always telling the truth. He is either sometimes telling the truth or always lying. In both cases the Lost One cannot be the one who tells lies since those positions are already taken. He must be the one who always tells the truth, and he tells us, the Believer is not always telling the truth.
Believer - sometimes telling the truth Lover - always telling lies Lost one - always saying the truth - only position left and possible
Just my observation: But those scenes are damn smooth. It looks like they filmed a lot of scenes in just one shot. There are no editing mistakes. They don't suddenly stand somewhere else, or the glasses they hold are somewhere else, or they touch each other, and the hands are somewhere else in the next scene. There is a perfect continuity. You see and hear them talking from a different angle, but every expression and reaction happens instantly. Tells you a lot about the acting capabilities of TayNew. They didn't have to film those scenes several times, so that the editing team could put together the best shots. Nope.
Beautiful watch, but I missed the moment Tanrak got attracted to Barth. When did it happen? They really could have done a better job there. Suddenly, he was "troubled", and then later we learned what was causing this trouble. Like was there a hint before?
It's not mid and not weakest either. It has the best chemistry by far.
The perceived quality of a series has a lot to do with the genre. I have seen my fair share of cheesy and overly dramatic BLs with really bad acting but they were praised a lot, because the plot was somehow serious or important or whatever. If you want to win with comedy, it must be innocent and charming like in Love Me If You Swear (which I adore). For raunchy and vulgar series it's more difficult to be taken serious. After all a big part of the BL watchers are rather puritan (seriously!), others are very horny. I'm just saying such a series is not really mainstream. The rating will go up with time, when TayNew show us more emotional scenes and everything will get deeper und more serious, which it will. We can already see where this is heading. But some people won't recognize the depth, because of the silliness and the s*x jokes.
I wasn't sure if I was going to watch it while it aired but after some waffling decided to. This episode was super…
"These poor guy work their butt off for those abs that Thai costume departments and scripts cover over with LAYERS."
Reminds me of Ticket of Heaven, where the boys were taking a bath. All of them having abs and looking fine as if this would be a normal physique for church boys. I feel like women have it easier this days. As a guy without abs you're not gonna make it in thai entertainment industry.
Sometimes human beings do things that don’t make any logical sense. I think that even if Lion doesn’t love…
Sure, you can always argue, people do irrational things. Kanit himself said, the human brain (or rather the heart) has many layers. Still, it feels so unnecessary to keep this up. They don't live together, they don't see each other very often (it seems). They don't have the same friend circle, since Lion wasn't on that wedding party. They don't work for the same airline. So they both aren't connected by work, family or friends. Breaking up would be rather easy. Lion smiling and being all happy with those flowers in his hand, when meeting the other guy, you really feel like he doesn't care about Kanit at all when he doesn't even bother showing up on their anniversary.
Serious question: Why is Lion not breaking up with Kanit? He doesn't want to spend their anniversary with him, he doesn't sleep with him (very often). What does he gain from this relationship? Kanit said they elevate each other. Well, that may be true, but Lion is the pilot and gets the big money, not Kanit. Still, you can argue he is the right boyfriend to show to his parents, but apparently Kanit never met Lion's parents. So Lion isn't together with him to show off, he isn't together with him, because he wants his money, he isn't together with him, because of the s*x. So why? Did I miss something?
This was soooo good. Seriously this show has everything I wished to see TayNew in and as. The pace is really nice.…
This series is like some spiritual awakening for me. I now believe in miracles. Amen. Everything is possible, lol. Never give up hope! Seriously, even in my wildest dreams I couldn't have imaged them doing such a fun series. It's more than I wished for. Their roles suit them perfectly. They both showed us such a variety of facial expressions and so much attitude in those two episodes - more than in all their previous work combined.
