After reading some comments, now I get to understand why the rating is stuck at 8.8 . I haven't checked for some…
It won't go above 9. That never happened before. 8,8 for a BL drama is already insane. Without even checking, I'm almost 100% sur this is the highest rated BL drama on MDL.
This is nothing compared to On1y One. I think someone should study the cult following. I have never seen something…
I remember many years ago, when I contributed gay stories to a book collection, where the money went to an association that supported queer people. At that time, I was in contact with many "supporters" of the gay community. Those people loved (male) gay content, read (male) gay porn on a regular basis, but were grossed out by lesbians kissing. So were they really supportive of the gay community, or were they just enjoying their fetish? It goes in the other direction too. If you enjoy cute boys playing gay, but you prefer not seeing them being intimate - what does that even mean? People should ask themselves this question. But you get accused very fast of being only interested in sex scenes and being a pervert, as if they stand on moral high ground, since they enjoy a pure (completely unrealistic) gay love. Someone said the cover looks like two altar boys. Made me laugh. Spot on. Don't get me wrong, this series would have worked perfectly if they made it shorter. A short movie for example with an open end. Would have been great. I have seen a lot of such movies or series, where the gay story wasn't even the main plot. But such a long ass series where nothing happens? And people worship it so much like it's the second coming of Jesus? Strange.

But isn't that problematic? They want to see cute boys, but don't want them to be too gay? No wonder there is the accusation of being homophobic going around.
People have different opinions so you guys should respect their opinions. If they express anything different from…

People will always complain and find faults in every drama no matter how much of a masterpiece it is especially…
Humor is a tricky thing, because it doesn't resonate with everyone the same. What some people find funny, others don't find funny at all. I enjoy the humor. It's pretty unique. It reminded me of something I watched decades ago. Then someone mentioned it's like the slapstick humor in old 60s and 70s Batman series. Bingo! That was it. It's pretty fun.
I seem to have forgotten parts of ep 1. What was the tiff between coach and Jack? I only recall Jack being conned…
Jack couldn't become a national athlete, because a richer guy got the position. The coach didn't prevent it, he didn't stand up for Jack. Something like that. I don't really remember it clearly either.
You wrote your opinion, others disagreed, what's the problem?
You're very sensitive. Nobody said something bad to you. Btw I agree, that the editing is the biggest issue in this series. I have no idea how editing works, but I would make many scenes shorter or cut them out completely, the transition should be quicker, snappier. They show scenes from different angles, which feels repetitive (and I'm not talking about the scenes where this is done for comedic purpose or the enhancement of a scene). They could shorten those episodes to an hour without losing any valuable content. But well, it is, what it is.
Depends on what you like. It's a rom-com with elements of action and some darker and more serious undertones,…
I wouldn't say it's rom-com. This is an action series with comedy and romance. Every scene between the main couple was tense until now, I mean, there is not much romantic comedy going on. The clumsy gangsters are providing the most comedy.
I truly hope that Jack just wails on Hope just absolutely wails on him; like goes full on Mike Tyson, knocking…
People complained early about Hope not being a good actor. I didn't really pay attention, but in this episode when he was with his boyfriend ... ugh. Zero chemistry. Zero charisma. I hope they don't give those two too much screen time. I don't care about their romance.
I feel the exact same way. It’s like the entire show could just be with those guys and just set everyone else…
Honestly, there is such a strange contrast going on between the "poor people" and the "rich people". Not only the girl, also her father, did a good job. Tattoos mother does a good job. The actress, who played Jack's mother, doesn't have a perfect body, and you could see the bra through her shirt. No supermodel here. So many minor character act well and fit the role, then you have Aran, Boss, Hope, and his boyfriend, who don't fit into this world. Not because they don't belong there, but because their acting is so stiff and staged. No charisma. None. Still loving the series, just saying.
No one talking about how that little girl is a better actress than 90% of the cast? Jack, Joker, Tattoo, grandma, and little girl are the only ones who can act. Where did they find that cutie? No bitching here, but I don't get why older actors are always so bad like the Boss. Aran, his crew, and Hope aren't great either. Maybe don't cast for looks?
I'm afraid there wouldn't be any decency in Thai series, until people stop praise everything more or less acceptable…
There are no good writers. That's the issue. Look at how BL started. They used famous and well-known novels as a source material to be sure there are enough fans and the series will sell. Those famous novels were wattpad-style online written novels who got popular because of the toxicity and the sex, like Addicted/Heroin or Together With Me (the latter was basically porn without plot). In Korean BL we have a similar issue. They use webtoons and make live action series of them. You can tell the source material is a webtoon. Most webtoons are badly written. Why? Because the authors are inexperienced, more artists than writers, and they get paid by chapter. That's also the reason why they publish chapters with big flashy images where half the pages are empty. To minimize effort and maximize income. I'm not shaming them, it's hard out there, making a living as a writer/artists. Those series get popular, because the drawings are cute. Many young people like that shallow stuff (sorry, not sorry). The story is often non-existent, character are badly written, because when the artist starts with his work, he has no idea where it's going, if it will be even successful, or if he will abandon his project. He has not the luxury to think ahead under the pressure of making a buck. Then we have Japanese BL people praise for whatever reason. If you can endure the over-acting, then you're stuck with boring office romance like in the old black-white Japanese manga. I'm just saying, there are no good writers in this genre, because it's not lucrative. It's a niche, it will always remain a niche. If you want to be a serious, well-known and successful writer, you don't specialize in Boys Love/Gay Romance. The whole genre was born from a (heterosexual) girls fantasy. Like fans write for fans. It's about imagining cute boys being in love. That's how it started. I don't know if I made myself clear. But the BL world is their own world, full of clichés, typical potlines, cute boys etc. That's the secret of its success. Why trying harder, investing more money, when it most likely isn't paying off? You won't conquer the world, even with the best written BL series ever made. It will still remain a niche.
Your first paragraph: LMAO. Exactly. You forgot to mention that Jack is under 20, so he can't get a loan in Thailand,…
The scene how they found Jack with the money was also strange. The police said, money is missing, and Jack was at the bank at the time. Really? What's with the not-at-all suspicious manager who needed the password five seconds after he arrived? "Permission to search", the police said - seriously? And of course, he still had the money in his hands. Also, he wanted the loan to build a school or a learning center or whatever? It looked, like he planned to build the whole building!!!! But then he had to become a loan shark, because he was in debt? What? Did he have no Plan B? Did he think to become a national athlete and that is everything he can do? Why does he have so much debt? Go delivering food! Look for a normal job. He agreed on being a loan shark, if he can't get the money? Why? Nothing of this is Joker's fault.
Okay, let me get this straight. Joke walks into a bank, pretends to be the manager without any form of authentication,…
Your first paragraph: LMAO. Exactly. You forgot to mention that Jack is under 20, so he can't get a loan in Thailand, and he got the money IN CASH. My last loan was a red number on my bank account.
This was an absolute snoozefest. I got bored and for some reason I didn’t get emotionally attached to the main…
Same. The characters and the story had potential, but they completely destroyed it by dragging out everything endlessly and filming so many filler scene nobody needed. I don't even see the chemistry people are praising so much.
