Title The On1y One
I'm going off-topic for a moment...It's a shame to see how the comment section has changed in the last 1-2 weeks.…
We are not living in Utopia. I have yet to see a comment section on MDL where there is no fighting going on. Every comment section of every series has certain stages.
First, when it airs, some people hate it, criticize it, drop it. Some of them hate on it for a few more episodes.
Second, more episodes are out, in the best case the series improves and gets more interesting, the people who already loved it, love it even more, the comment section becomes sunshine and rainbows.
Third, the end is near. The writers mess it up (or not), some people who originally loved it or at least liked it, are disappointed, criticism gets stronger, people complain, some hate on it, other love it even more and fight for it with a passion. That's the fighting stage.
Fourth, the series ends. Nobody cares anymore.

I really loved the series, They have such great chemistry. but what was going on with them? did neither of them…
Go Hotae wasn't sincere and straight forward about his feeling. Having constantly a different girlfriend wasn't helping either. He was confused, unsure, hormone-driven, and he showed that to Kim Donghee.
Honestly, if I put myself in Kim Donghee shoes, I wouldn't have accepted this either. There is also the relationship with his "auntie" he cherishes. Too much was at stake. His decisions were smart. They both needed time to cool their heads.
It didn't go well with Go Hotae's having that accident, but that was just unfortunate.

So basically, Go Hotae spent his late teens simping over this guy who was having some internal homophobia and…
It's rated high, because it was beautifully filmed, the characters are deep and complex, the emotions were portrayed in a very captivating way, that make you feel lots of things.

Kim Donghee is very sensitive and smart. He is not an asshole. If someone is an asshole, then it's Go Hotae, though he has no ill intent. He is confused. He was never clear about his feelings. He broke up with the girl, because he "bought eggs", which meant, because of Kim Donghee. You could see how happy that made Kim Donghee, and how excited and happy he was the next time he approached Go Hotae, only to discover he had a new girlfriend.

What was Kim Donghee supposed to think and feel? Go Hotae was obviously confused. He wasn't sincere, neither to himself nor to Kim Donghee. He never said: "I want to kiss you, because I like you". He said "Teach me kissing, so I do well, when I kiss my new lover." He apologized for kissing Kim Donghee later, he never confessed his feelings. Never.

Then there is the problem with being gay, which is apparently such a terrible thing, that his father beat Kim Donghee because of it. So now he is supposed to go out and live his best and sexiest gay life with his best friend, whose mother seems to be the only adult who cares for him sincerely? Why not? Who cares if it doesn't work out? Nothing to lose! Let's have our great gay romance with a guy whose hormones seem a bit out of control.

In ULS the saga continues. Go Hotae has different girlfriends, and then he asks Kim Donghee to be his boyfriend FOR A MONTH. To kiss him. To sleep with him. He basically said "I want to try you out", just for a month. Strange, that Kim Donghee didn't like that. The moment Go Hotae was honest with his feelings, the moment he told him he loved him and how devastated he was after he went to Seoul, Kim Donghee opened up to him.

Title Kidnap
I feel sorry for the actors, because you see the true face of their "fans" here on this site. First, toxic OhmNanon fans were spreading irrational hate to the point where I questioned their sanity. Now toxic OhmLovers are creeping around, who call everyone a hater who dares to criticize this series, when this series is mediocre at best. Imagine, you work and entertain such people, who are just hateful and obsessed, while at the same time thinking they are fighting for their idols and are so brave and "good". No wonder those actors do this job mostly for the money, not for the art. Why should they enjoy entertaining this obsessed, crazy crowd?
Go watch "Why You ... Y me?", where we have a crazy fangirl (she is cute, though, and she means well). The couple she ships hard is MeanPlan (of course they have other names in the series). And Plan talks with his friend about how he doesn't even know if he is talented, since people are only interested in him because of the "couple". Hit me pretty hard. Imagine being those actors ... And then you have the company GMMTV who doesn't even try to create good series with a good plot anymore, because they know the fans only want a hot couple to ship. That's why couples like PondPhuwin or JoongDunk are so hyped and people are gushing over their good looks and the "fanservice". Never seen anyone gushing over their good acting!
Everything goes to sh*t sooner or later. It's honestly sad.

Write an actual reply to you cuz i messed up once. (It's a long reply)I think the budget depends on the country,…
I don't know if I misunderstand, but I want to say that the problem is NOT homophobia, misogyny, racism or whatever.

You can't force people to like a certain content. You can't force a heterosexual guy to watch gay content regularly. I'm pretty sure many hetero guys watched Brokeback Mountain, because it was a big hit back then and advertised heavily. But there are certain genres that aren't speaking to everyone.

Fast and the Furious is watched by so many, because it's liked by many: men watch it, because they like fast cars, women watch it, because they like hot men. Big audience. It's not only for men. This is not about gender, sexuality, skin color, it's about NUMBERS!

BL will never have the same audience. Mostly some heterosexual women and gay men like this genre. Asian BL series got big because of the international audience, but there are only so many viewers you can entertain. You can't force the world to be gay or to like gay content.

Just for your reference 10000000Thai Baht is about 300000USD
I'm pretty sure at least 30 people are working on this series. Sometimes at the end of a series they show a picture of the stuff, or otherwise they show it in the BTS. There are always at least 20 people. Imagine everyone gets 10k for their hard work which takes weeks and months - well, then nothing is left from the 300k.

I'm genuinely surprised to hear people say this series looks low-budget. The picture quality and props are far…
It looks high budget for a Thai BL production, that was my first impression too.

But people tend to compare those series to the big ones like those from Korea or even Hollywood was mentioned, which spends millions for their series and movies.

I'm not an expert in karate or Kung Fu but I thought the fights were pretty decent, I don't know if it was Yin…
I don't think this is about homophobia. The money goes where there is money to earn. The market is just smaller. There aren't that many people who want to watch gay content, and that's okay too.

The only fight that i had problem with was yin and victor's fight. Supposedly, yin's character (jack) was a taekwondo…
I rewatched that fight, since I also wasn't 100% sold on it the first time watching. Jack was too slow, but he had some good kicks.
On Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart! Sep 20, 2024
Serious question: Why are some people thinking the fight scenes are bad? The choreography is pretty good, maybe the movements are a bit slow. And whatever there is between Joker and Jack, when Jack got serious, he hit him hard. That looked pretty real. And when Jack fought a guy much taller and stronger than him, he jumped on his back to strangle him. Pretty smart choice. Since I'm no fight-scene expert I'm honestly curious, because the fight scenes impressed me the most, considering this isn't some high budget series. Sure, an action Korean drama worth millions is more impressive.

It's not like there are some mysteries to be revealed (yet), but you may feel once in a while the writers didn't think it through.

How's the series so far? Rating is very high is the Rating justified?
It's a pretty exciting series. Some things don't make much sense, but they got a lot of other things right: chemistry, acting, characters, fight scenes, suspense, even the humor.

Okay first of all let's change the term from Weak to Spoilt. Chihiro grew up in a middle class Japanese home while…
"Weak" ist really not the best word, "spoiled" neither. He is a leech, I agree with you on that, he depends not only financially but also emotionally on others. He also has no pride. This scene, where Keito called him a moving sex toy, was really .... low. For both characters. For Keito for treating him like this, and for Chihiro not doing and saying much afterwards. I agree with you on Chihiro not being weak in the sense that he still keeps fighting. There is an interesting dynamic between the characters, so maybe they were written exactly like this to create this dynamic, and otherwise it wouldn't have been possible. I still wish they had decided to write Chihiro a bit differently. It's just something that I find personally very off-putting.

Disagree. A ”fantasy” with people struggling because of debt and poverty can speak to a lot of people...Emotions…
"Being two cute and brainy action twinks, completely morally uncompromised by their environments and experiences, navigating their situations with the smartest smarts and most polished martial arts while also finding time and emotional real estate to bestow kindness on their fellow humans /and/ flirt with each other, is a fantasy."

Are you talking about this series? Because you give them too much credit.
"Brainy action twinks"
"Smartest smarts"
"Most polished martial arts"
LMAO

This is psychology. About people who are mentally ill. Naturally they will behave far from the norm. Of course,…
I'm not saying that I don't understand them. I have a bias towards weak characters, in the sense that it makes it difficult for me to enjoy a story even if it's well written. Such people aren't uncommon in real life. Maybe not with this kind of backstory, but many people depend on others.
I have no issues with the Keito character.

Do you know "No Regret"? It's a rather old Korean BL movie, but it has a similar vibe.

I don't enjoy this series at all, honestly. It's more like a car crash, you just can't look away. I think I would love it (while being deeply disturbed by it at the same time), if the Chihiro character was more likeable. Those weak guys who depend so much on others, it's just not my cup of tea. I'm biased, I know. I'm not rooting for those two. I don't see how the love between them can heal them in any way. But maybe that's not the direction they are going for.

A series gets more hate, the bigger the hype or the expectations.
In my case, the bigger the potential, the more disappointed I am.
But I like this series, it's just that you have to turn off your brain to enjoy it, which I will happily do since the characters are interesting enough and YinWar are showing us great acting like always.
