I'm not an expert in karate or Kung Fu but I thought the fights were pretty decent, I don't know if it was Yin…
I don't think this is about homophobia. The money goes where there is money to earn. The market is just smaller. There aren't that many people who want to watch gay content, and that's okay too.

The only fight that i had problem with was yin and victor's fight. Supposedly, yin's character (jack) was a taekwondo…
I rewatched that fight, since I also wasn't 100% sold on it the first time watching. Jack was too slow, but he had some good kicks.

On Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart! Sep 20, 2024
Serious question: Why are some people thinking the fight scenes are bad? The choreography is pretty good, maybe the movements are a bit slow. And whatever there is between Joker and Jack, when Jack got serious, he hit him hard. That looked pretty real. And when Jack fought a guy much taller and stronger than him, he jumped on his back to strangle him. Pretty smart choice. Since I'm no fight-scene expert I'm honestly curious, because the fight scenes impressed me the most, considering this isn't some high budget series. Sure, an action Korean drama worth millions is more impressive.

It's not like there are some mysteries to be revealed (yet), but you may feel once in a while the writers didn't think it through.

How's the series so far? Rating is very high is the Rating justified?
It's a pretty exciting series. Some things don't make much sense, but they got a lot of other things right: chemistry, acting, characters, fight scenes, suspense, even the humor.

Okay first of all let's change the term from Weak to Spoilt. Chihiro grew up in a middle class Japanese home while…
"Weak" ist really not the best word, "spoiled" neither. He is a leech, I agree with you on that, he depends not only financially but also emotionally on others. He also has no pride. This scene, where Keito called him a moving sex toy, was really .... low. For both characters. For Keito for treating him like this, and for Chihiro not doing and saying much afterwards. I agree with you on Chihiro not being weak in the sense that he still keeps fighting. There is an interesting dynamic between the characters, so maybe they were written exactly like this to create this dynamic, and otherwise it wouldn't have been possible. I still wish they had decided to write Chihiro a bit differently. It's just something that I find personally very off-putting.

Disagree. A ”fantasy” with people struggling because of debt and poverty can speak to a lot of people...Emotions…
"Being two cute and brainy action twinks, completely morally uncompromised by their environments and experiences, navigating their situations with the smartest smarts and most polished martial arts while also finding time and emotional real estate to bestow kindness on their fellow humans /and/ flirt with each other, is a fantasy."

Are you talking about this series? Because you give them too much credit.
"Brainy action twinks"
"Smartest smarts"
"Most polished martial arts"
LMAO

This is psychology. About people who are mentally ill. Naturally they will behave far from the norm. Of course,…
I'm not saying that I don't understand them. I have a bias towards weak characters, in the sense that it makes it difficult for me to enjoy a story even if it's well written. Such people aren't uncommon in real life. Maybe not with this kind of backstory, but many people depend on others.
I have no issues with the Keito character.

Do you know "No Regret"? It's a rather old Korean BL movie, but it has a similar vibe.

I don't enjoy this series at all, honestly. It's more like a car crash, you just can't look away. I think I would love it (while being deeply disturbed by it at the same time), if the Chihiro character was more likeable. Those weak guys who depend so much on others, it's just not my cup of tea. I'm biased, I know. I'm not rooting for those two. I don't see how the love between them can heal them in any way. But maybe that's not the direction they are going for.

Review Kidnap
I thought you dropped this series after the first episode? what’s your obsession with kidnap even after dropping…
I'm pretty sure I never said, I would drop it.
I said several times I will watch it just to look at Leng's pretty face.
Who is a hater?

I'm really enjoying this and everyone is obvs entitled to their opinion and there are gaps but bro some shows…
A series gets more hate, the bigger the hype or the expectations.
In my case, the bigger the potential, the more disappointed I am.
But I like this series, it's just that you have to turn off your brain to enjoy it, which I will happily do since the characters are interesting enough and YinWar are showing us great acting like always.

I looked it up.
I wrote my last comment on Kidnap 9 days ago, which means I didn't even write a (negative) comment after Episode 2 aired.

Half assed ... exactly.
And people are always so butt hurt when you point it out. Those series could be mind-blowing good, but they don't try hard enough. This is so strange to me. Put in a tiny (!) bit more effort in the writing and editing. Not a lot of effort, a tiny effort! The writing isn't even the biggest issue I have with this series, it's more the editing. It feels like they filmed some scene from different directions and put the same shots together.

Yeah, that's a trend now: poor writing. I don't recall the last time I watched a well written Thai BL series.

I have no idea why they don't think more about the story. You pointed out a lot of things. How did you do it? You used your f*cking brain. You thought it through. I mean, come on, no idea why those Thai BL action writers are so lame. I really don't understand it. They have a budget for nice locations, some good actors, and then they just put together some random scenes in such a clumsy way with the only purpose of making it look cool.
I don't really care. I'm here for the characters and the acting, but it wouldn't be that hard to create a better series.
Joker is more of a con man with a low success rate than a great thief. If not for War's acting and charisma, this series would be silly.

On1y One isn't that great. Watch The Time Of Fever, similar vibes, but better. That one really is a masterpiece.…
You can't be serious ...
So from now on I have to write "I think, it's not that great" or "In my opinion it's not that great" or "I don't like it that much, but that's just me (and my humble opinion)"
New netiquette on MDL?
I didn't even say it's bad, because it isn't. But it's not a masterpiece or "that great" like I said (in my very humble opinion of course who nobody has to share). Happy now?
You know, I'm a writer myself, sold half a million books. Do you have any idea how many bad reviews I got in my life? How many reviews that can really crush a person when they sh*t on your work mercilessly? Do you think I should now sit in a corner and cry about it?
You said, you didn't find Times Of Fever great. When I read that, I felt nothing. It doesn't concern me. Tastes are different. So yeah, I wonder for an eternity now, why people are always so defensive and so quick to fight for their favorite show when I'm myself not even that concerned when people hate my books, my work, my soul, my passion. It's not that serious at the end of the day. You don't see me writing negative comments on the On1y One page and whining about how I'm trying to watch it for the 5th time, but I'm just not getting into it, and personally, in my humble opinion, this hype about it is exaggerated, in my opinion that I am glad I'm free to share here on this site as an opinion of course.
Now I'm petty, I know.

But i don't think he has a small body, he has an average body size but his height makes him appear somehow small
He has a good body, perfect proportions. It's just that he is rather small, and we all know the entertainment industry wants handsome and tall (!) guys. He can't play an action hero either, a fighter or a warrior in a fantasy series, so this role as Joker, the sly thief, is just perfect!

I have no idea why people get so defensive when it comes to On1y One. It's almost a cult like following. "Don't dare not like that great series!" - something like this.
Nobody stops you from liking it.
