Funny how people just can't admit they are wrong. You were thinking they were talking about the main couple, since the one is younger and was raised by the other. And maybe they were.
The child abuse was not only at the beginning. We just saw it in ep 3. It plays a big part in the main character's development. There are trigger warnings for far less in fictional works.
I'm curious about your response, because of course you're the kind of person who must have the last word.
Well, then be more attentive while watching it. The mother was abusive to Qian. She was hitting him, and it even looked like some inappropriate touching was going on.
I appreciate how they try to tell an emotional and realistic story. I'm too used to toxic and edgy stories without any depths. This kind of tale is perfect for a certain amount of toxicity, instead they go down a completely different route. I never expected the younger brother's love being so pure and innocent. It looks like the older brother has also feelings, but he is struggling much more than the younger one. I'm not a fan of time skips, but in this case it's a good decision. They really try to make their love deep, sincere and romantic.
Exactly. It had gotten so bad with Taiwan that when I heard this was from Taiwan I actually just expected it to…
They aren't really numbered. It's just that nowadays so many BLs are airing. I remember a time, back then in 2016 and some years later, where we didn't have a new BL every week. There is even a BL calendar online, where you can see how many new series are airing every month. In the good old times (or not so good for BL) this wasn't the case. I remember watching around 6 or 7 series per year, and 3 of them were great. Not much changed, since you can still find 3 or 4 great series per year. The number of series changed, though. So you get the impression, if you start 20 new series, and only 3 are nice, that the quality dropped. But I would honestly say, the quality went up over the years. There are still some timeless classics, but overall BL (especially Thai BL) got better.

Thailand is putting out really good series, though. In the last year My School President, Moonlight Chicken, Be My Favorite, Only Friends, Last Twilight. All very unique series with some great acting and overall good writing.
You must be new at Taiwanese BL. This is how they drop it. And those usually gets very high ratings except for…
Dropping an episode once a week is not a problem. I think this Netflix-binge-watch-culture is ruining lots of fun and excitement. In this case, though, I agree with you. They should release at least two episodes a week like they did with shows like Trapped. Unknown episodes are only 27 minutes long, 7 of them are intro and outro. You really feel like you have watched NOTHING. With two episodes a week, one after another, this would be much more enjoyable.
I wasn't 100% sold on this after seeing two episodes, because I didn't like the looks and the attitude of the actor who played the younger brother. I thought his younger version was a better actor and more likeable. Also, his character seemed a bit questionable from watching the trailer. But his performance and the writing in Ep 3 changed my mind about him completely.
I like how they portray the characters and their family bonds, and how they all care about each other. Even the trauma because of the abusive mother is very well done.
Ep 3 took me by surprise. Watching the long trailer, I got the impression the younger brother is the obsessive and more dominant type. Maybe he will be later, but in this episode he was cute and innocent. I could feel how much he likes his older brother without being creepy. This will be good, if they keep this up.

And then we can watch our 20 minutes episode and drool over the 5 minutes of cute scenes.
They talk about NC scenes, but I'm not sure if they are joking or not

I was so excited about this series.
