It sells. It always sold. And it will always sell. So any complaining is futile.
I never said they shouldn't complain. But it's indeed futile. I remember when I was around 20 years old, I read a lot of fanfics, and only the trashy ones got any attention. It made me furious! Why? Because I was a writer myself, and I wanted to tell a proper story. Nobody understood why I even had a problem with those apparantly great writers and their so popular stories. I always felt like I'm on the battlefiled, but nobody even knows there is a war going on.
So what now? People were ridiculing me for my attemps to write good stories. I have seen many authors writing the same trashy stories, just because it sells. It indeed does sell and it always will. But I remained true to myself, and kept writing the stories I thought were worth writing down. I'm now a professional novel writer for more than 7 years, and I sell a lot of books and make a good income. I learned that there is a market for everything. If you work hard and put passion into your work, it will pay off. On the other hand I also learned that I have to give credit to some of those writers who put out trash. It's honestly not easy to write trash. I'm not joking. Imagine writing such cringy books with sexual assault. I couldn't do it. So I must admit I came to admire some of those authors, and I wouldn't want to be in their shoes. Especially authors who write very detailed sex scenes and put lots of them into their books. It's tiring.
My whole point: Write what you enjoy. Read what you enjoy. But you can't change that there is a market for trash literature. And even if the public opinion tells you that it is indeed trash, people will read it in secret. In German (I'm not a native speaker obviously) we have the term "Groschenromane" or "Schundliteratur". The stuff will still sell when we are all dead.
The luckiest guy in the show is the cameraman during the shower scene 😄
When he undressed and didn't take off his undershirt, I immediately thought the actor didn't want to show his body, which he has any right to do so. But then he did! So that means that the character Ayan didn't dare to be too bold. I wonder what he would have done if Akk agreed to shower with him! But he knew he wouldn't. He is getting cuter in every episode.
Those shower scenes are normally done to please the audience. They are over-sexualizing it, making it super hot, in slow-motion with some erotic music. Not this time. It was part of the scene, since Akk used the opportunity to go through Ayan's things.
I dropped this show after episode one cause i just could not take their whole social issues seriously, it gave…
I didn't drop it. But it took me a week to finish ep 1. I watched it right before ep 2 aired. I think this is one of those series that gets better with time, people will spread the word and then many will watch it.
It was OK. I wish the scenes between Akk & Ayan could be a little more realistic - sometimes it's so silly it…
The falling-asleep-scene was indeed realistic. This happens. I have nothing to complain about the intereaction between the boys. But I'm also not sold on the school/rules/cartoonishly evil teacher/curse thing yet.
The story about the school, the rules, the curse etc. is really silly. Especially since they take it so serious!…
Honestly, I hope this plot turns out to be brilliant. Everything else is done so well. This series has the potential to become one of my favorites. It reminds me of Not Me which I also enjoyed, but there the protests and the social issues were a bit better presented and looked more mature.
"Are you scared?" "What can a small guy like you do?" "Exactly!" My favorite dialouge of the whole episode.
"Are you scared?" Ayan being sassy/flirty, provoking Akk. "What can a small guy like you do?" Akk gets back at him, he is not intimidated. "Exactly!" Ayan not caring, lol. That's confidence, and it's sexy. He knows he is smaller and weaker.
I feel like the story is starting to drag a little bit :(. The only parts of the episode I liked was Ayan and…
The story about the school, the rules, the curse etc. is really silly. Especially since they take it so serious! Imagine 3 (!!) students rebelling. What school would care? This is not a threat. They should have made that "rebellion" bigger and more dangerous. Imagine you would feel it can really bring down the school. Then everything would make sense.
First looks so boring in this series. The way he walkes, his experessions and everything, like an old grandpa. It's funny, especially since I know him from Not Me, where he was a real snack: so sexy, young and rebellious. The whole aura was different. That's what you call good acting, I guess.
I totally agree. They were both good in other dramas (separately) in terms of chemistry with their partner, but…
At least I'm not the only one who didn't feel the chemistry. Hyun Bin had great chemistry with Ha Ji Won in Secret Garden. One of my most favorite dramas until this day. It had it's flaws, yes, but I felt that love deeply. I also liked Son Ye Jin with her younger Partner Jung Hae In in Something In The Rain. I was really blown away by that chemistry! CLOY was a snoozefest to me. So yeah ... directing, plot, I don't know. I guess they don't want to show their love in public, because that's not what Korean people do. So them being a bit akward off screen is their way of being professsional. No idea. I liked them as friends, though. I knew they were good friends before they dated. Whatever. Hopefully this marriage will last.
Mame is a Thai author who writes for Thai readers, and they seem to like her books. Sometimes, Thai fans seem…
Honestly, this is all brain washing. It's gone too far. For example it's important to talk about consent and to protect rape victims in real life, but the world of fiction is still the world of fiction. The purpose is to tell an engaging story that provokes certain emotions in the viewer/reader, it can also educate people emotionally or even socially if that's the intention of the author, but it's not meant to be politically correct all the time. Especially since what we call "poliltically correct" is getting out of hand. Its purpose shouldn't be to prevent anybody from getting offended. Literature should indeed offend people! With all that talk about what's morally right or wrong and cancelling stories that are wrong, they just narrow the range of stories we get. I always say there is something for everybody out there, and that's a good thing. Many stories, many ideas. Talk about it! Love it! Hate it! Cancelling stuff is never the solution. Though I admit someone can accuse me of thinking everything should be allowed. It's not easy to find the right balance.

LOVE IT! The dynamics are great.
