Both are good xianxia dramas and are in my favorite drama list. However, between the two I feel ALP has more angst and more of an emotional roller coaster compared to L&R. I definitely cried more with ALP than L&R.

I have mentioned at the early start of the drama that Xu Kai is very expressive with his eyes in this drama. You can feel the love and longing as his goodbye to Tianqi. I cried as well. 😭 He’s a good actor. I’ve followed most of his dramas.

Love at first sight has made Muguang blind. 😂 He did absolutely nothing but forgave Wu Huan after finding out. FORGAVE HER!!! I guess because of his indecisive and soft nature (like Wu Huan had described before), she is able to walk all over him. His constant covering-up for her will only lead her down the evil path (which it did).

As for Jingzhao, it would be a pleasant surprise if she's able to recognize the evil path her mother is going on and try to stay on the right path. But from the looks of the last few episodes, she's back to her obnoxious self. You can clearly see that in her demands of other people and their treatment. She even told Bai Jue herself, that all she cares about is her reputation. She doesn't seem to know how to atone for her bad behavior. You can sort of see some improvement in Jingyang in E44, but not Jingzhao.

Congratulations! You've been holding off on those episodes for a LONG time. I still haven't marked this drama as complete, it's still under currently watching. 😂

I noticed that the names seem to be more accurate with Youku vs. WeTV. For example:

Youku: Brother Cheng / WeTV: Cheng

Youku: God Ming / WeTV: Ming

Youku: Fatty / WeTv: Chubby

Youku: God Yang / WeTV: Yang

Youku: Lao Mao / WeTV: Cat

Yes, their performance in at the wedding (E41) was a bit more convincing than in Tribulation of Chaos (E15). I'm not sure if it's because they were not in the roles of True Gods and have the opportunity to express their emotions more in this second life. They are free to love and show it without the responsibilities of being a True God on their shoulders. Therefore, understanding and feeling what it means to be a mortal versus a god.

It was refreshing to see Jingyang have a different way of thinking compared to his mother in E44. He was giving subtle indications to her that he didn't want to be manipulated by Wu Huan to go against the Demons. Even though he showed he can be a changed person, a merely 100 years probably doesn't atone for all the bad he has done before. I too hope he can stand up to his mother when her evil character shows up, just like I know the second prince, Jingjian, will do.

Yes, the Snow Goddess did instigate Wu Huan with those evil thoughts initially. Wu Huan wasn't as evil before. With those evil thoughts and the Snow Goddess's help, Wu Huan had a taste of getting away with doing bad things.

The costume and make-up on Wu Huan changed throughout the drama to show her character progression. We see her dress in white, indicating her good nature. As the drama progress, her make-up got a bit darker (especially her eyes). In E46, right after she stood above Muguang and knocked him out, she eye make-up showed that darker change (thus showing us her complete change to the devil side).

I must say her make-up was pretty at that point. 😂

I was just re-watching that scene again this morning. The acting was very good, especially Houchi & Bai Jue. Their executions were very well done, the music and lyrics came in at the right moment. When they needed to hold in the tears they did, but when those tears needed to roll down their eyes they dropped at the right moment. It makes the audience so immerse at the moment.

This episode by far has been the most emotional one for me. Not just the great acting on both Houchi & Bai Jue, but the emotional roller coaster it has taken me. Disgust of the whole wedding. Anger of having "Qingmu" divorcing Houchi in front of all those immortals. Sadness of Gu Jun's sacrifice for Houchi (sometimes even feeling denial for refusing to believe Gu Jun is gone). And of course heartbreak for Houchi's loss of husband and father. That stab HURT (literally and emotionally). The music and lyrics came on at the right time. Great performance executions from both actors. Impressive that a scene can bring out all these multiple emotions.

This scene is memorable to me, just like the snow surrender scene of Changge and the death of Ashile Sun's mother in The Long Ballad.

Where are you watching it? WETV VIP has up to E44 with eng subs today. Even other website have episodes sub to E44 too.

Yes I love Tianqi too. Many of us want a happy ending for Tianqi.

As forZhiyang, someone mentioned that he's currently sleeping/in a coma in the God Realm. He will wake up when Shanggu opens the Gold Realm again.

I'm going to re-watch a few of the episodes again, especially the ones with the great CGI scenes. Since I've been able to download the 1080p version, watching it on the big screen is amazing. 😁

No considering he's a True God, he cannot die. Plus there was a spoiler clip from Twitter posted by @Rika217 last night. Tianqi was very much alive. 😊
