I would wager to say Jing and Xiang Liu are friends actually—they connect over their mutual desires for Xiaoyao to be happy. I’m not sure if they’ll stick to the novel but in there it’s shown that they were friends , but I feel even now it’s plain in the drama as well.

Something I love so much about Xiaoyao is how complex and real she is as a character. She knows Xiang Liu’s heart and intentions, but she just wants to hear it from his own lips. She just wants to be truly cherished and chosen. I think she’s so real in how lost she feels. Jing truly respects her and will never waver in his loyalty, Xiang Liu recognizes this and respects Jing in that regard.

Poor Jing has suffered so much—he’s a victim of SA as well as everything else he’s undergone—anyone else would have gone cruel but he’s resilient and kind. Although Xiang Liu is one of my most favorite characters ever created, I admire Jing so much and hope they keep in the drama just how smart he was in the novel ending.

Okay but how come Lirong Chen is like everyone’s best friend—both Jing and Xiang Liu—wish I could trade places with him😍😂
I don’t know why but I’m loving him a lot this season.
