Am I the only one who wishes these two were cast in a more serious role? Their chem is steamy AF. The quirky comedy and contrivances are just getting in the way imo.
Loved that full-auto blazing hell-fire Jeon-Joo shi! sofa slap in ep.2 though.
As much as I like the comedy, her character is beginning to really annoy me. She's awfully cavalier with other people's lives, esp after they've saved her ass multiple times.
The director of One Spring Night and Something in the Rain ruined drama for me. Everything else suffers by comparison to his natural, organic approach imo. Now I just wait until he comes out with something new lol.
I've often thought of starting a Bad Guys Are Us clothing store in SK. Apparently black caps, fatigues and combat boots are the super stealthy way to hide evil intentions.
I don't understand all this guessing. Isn't there an official announcement early on followed by a massive hype/marketing campaign? Or do Asian dramas never have the budgets for this?
So...FL falls for rich, arrogant asshole drama with #cheating. Ah the power of the coin lol. Leads look good but…
Well I'll wait to the end for a decision but I sure don't see any top 30 drama of all time. People hyped this as a mature 50 shades esque infidelity/betrayal (literally in the tags) drama, but I'm seeing none of that. I feel trolled. Sophisticated this is not and the romantic dialogue is cringe.
I'm sorry but this is such bullshit. I understand that she is young and naive but the whole first episode screamed…
CRINGE is right. In the golden age of the 90s/2000s they used to make the most realistic romances available--Beautiful Life, Pride, Long Vacation, Love Generation, Tatta Hitotsu no Koi, etc. etc. Wth jdrama..
People can debate the merits and shortcomings of the writing all they want, but one thing is indisputable: from the standpoint of naturalness and realism this makes nearly every other drama seem fake. Now it's just a question of whether the fandom is ready to level-up and send a message to producers...
This drama is the ultimate example of bait and switch. They lured us in with the rom-com aspect and threw a curveball…
Agreed. Had high hopes given the pretty effective comedy and good balance of drama in the beginning. Then it turned into very heavy-handed melodrama with very awkward editing (as Jorsias points out) and a childish romance. SHS, the dancing, and the Osts were the only standouts to me..
Jeong In to GiSeok: "You go talk to your friends, talk to my friends, talk to me, but we are never ever, ever,…
I think he should ask Shi Hoon to marry him. They have so much in common: both drink heavily, both are desperate, both got dumped by sisters, both in denial, and both are douchebags. Plus they've already been on several dates. I ship it.
Exactly. I am almost inclined to think that most of the kdramas have been so far removed from reality that us,…
Yeah I've seen both and they're great. I didn't find the plot in SLA nearly as compelling as the couple, but IHITTG was amazing. And that's coming from someone who isn't normally into 'youth' dramas. This director is one of the few turning out truly organic product in dramaland.
Exactly. I am almost inclined to think that most of the kdramas have been so far removed from reality that us,…
Yup--and that makes it an even bigger achievement imo: the execution is so good, even those of us who can't relate at all find it believable and enthralling. Few are ballsy enough to even take on social issues at all, and when they do it's usually completely OTT or comedic rubbish. Not here. I'd go as far as to say that what this director and actors have done is revolutionary. If kdrama continues down this path, it'll *completely* put its Asian competitors in the shade.
