I'm just going to agree to disagree with you here. You point out that in some movies, there are characters who don't embrace societal norms regarding crime, but movies almost universally portray such behaviours as negative. For example, there are usually authorities trying to stop the offender and/or victims who are hurt by the offender. Again, you seem to have missed my point. My issue is not with the behaviour being portrayed - but whether an unacceptable behaviour is portrayed as acceptable. I reject your implied clarvoyance or ability to remotely psychoanalyse me and my "hangups". You know nothing about me including if I'm eager to find a new BF to rape me. BTW, my wife won't let me have a boyfriend, especially rapey ones. Good god, densitude isn't a word.

You've completely missed the point. The issue is not that the drama showed a date rape scene. The issue is that the writers portrayed it as being acceptable. Murder and crime aren't acceptable to me, but I have no problem these activities being included in dramas. However, I would have a problem with a writer who decided to show murder and crime as being acceptable. How could you possibly know what the writer, director or producer care about?
Casting https://kisskh.at/people/2650-lee-kyung-young as a character who is suspected of getting a girl young enough to be his granddaughter pregnant is (in my opinion) in bad taste, considering he was charged and convincted of statutory rape for having sex with a minor.
In terms of production, this is easily the best Thai GL made to date. The cinematography was excellent, as was the acting. The story followed the original novels quite closely, however I think this drama didn't get the pacing right, with the story often progressing too slowly. But the novels themselves were also quite slow in developing the story. "Blank" still is my favourite Thai GL, but "The Loyal Pin" probably now sits at my #2. My score: 8.5/10
An excellent crime melodrama (with a sprinkling of romance). Lawyer Oh Soo Jae begins as a highly skilled lawyer, but a very terrible person. She goads a (probable) rape victim to (apparently) commit suicide and is completely indifferent when that woman does (apparently) commit suicide. But in the course of the drama, she grows as a person, eventually becoming a more decent human being, while (also eventually) outsmarting her enemies who are even more terrible than her. I thought that Seo Hyun Jin and Heo Joon Ho were the standout actors, but the acting across the board was very good. This drama is not a simple watch, with so many characters and a spiderweb of interconnected subplots and events. You need to pay attention, and probably consult the Cast MDL page regularly while watching. Some commenters have criticised the romance subplot, even suggesting it should not have been included. In my opinion, it played an important role in the drama, but I think it could have been done much better. I guess I didn't find all aspects of it believable. I also thought the final episode wasn't done as well as it could have been. All the evidence conclusively proving the guilt of Choi Tae Gook was just way too convenient, and far too easily obtained. Lastly, there was (for me) insufficient closure in the last episode, with the fates of the three main antagonists, Choi Tae Gook, Han Seong Beom and Lee In Soo, not adequately explained. Likewise, not explaining the fates of the three men who raped Kang Eun Seo was also unsatisfying for me. But overall, a very good drama: 8.5/10.
Here's a theory. The blue stone necklace was used to make the nude sex scene with the body double look more believable.
It hasn't been officially confirmed, but its pretty obvious. There's simply no other reason why they wouldn't show Jung Yun Ha's face and breasts in the same shot.
Some of it reflects people's genuine opinion, but there is also a degree of review bombing that happens with any KDrama which contains nudity or explicit sexual content. That is, some morality police score such dramas 1 without having even watched it, just to drag the overall score down to 'punish' the show. The same happens with dramas based on affairs. A good example is the Kdrama "Secret Love Affair" which is an excellent drama, but currently sits at a score of only 7.7, when it should be at least 8.5.
At excellent drama. The only reason I didn't give S2 10/10 (like I did for S1) was because I thought that the final episode, although good, wasn't as emotionally satisfying as it could have been. My score is 9.5/10.
I support GL content, so I will watch almost any GL drama. But since dramas like "Blank" and "The Loyal Pin" have been released, my expectations have increased. So, I found this drama decidedly average. The script, the pacing, much of the acting, the cinematography - it was all just very average in my opinion. But I'm still glad I watched it and I remain grateful to the Thai film studios that are producing GL content, especially considering they are mostly doing it with very small budgets. My score: 7½/10
people behind this season should be JAILED. so much potential was wasted.. they turned an amazing drama with strong…
I thought the second season was at least as good as the first, and maybe even slightly better. I understand your disappointment that Jung So Min was not in this season (she's also one of my favourite Korean actresses), and that has clearly been a deal breaker for you. But the drama is about the character of Naksu and her ability to soul shift into different bodies. So from a story point of view, the change of actresses makes perfect sense. Remember, Naksu is originally played by Go Youn Jung at the start of S01E01. My advice (which you are free to ignore of course) is to put this drama on hold and maybe come back to it in 6 or 12 months.
I decided I will not watch this. I was angry when I realized that there will not be a Mu-dok anymore. I think…
Obviously you make your own choice regarding what to watch, but at least consider this: In S1, Jang Uk falls in love with Naksu, who just happened to be residing in Mu Deok's body, which we find out was actually Jin Bu Yeon's body. In S2, Jang Uk again falls in love with Naksu, who is residing in Jin Bu Yeon's resurrected body, but that body has taken on the appearance of Naksu's original body. So, BOTH seasons were about (among other things) the love between Jang Uk and Naksu. Also, season 2 is really good - just as good as season 1.
My sympathy goes out to all those Asian people who had evil/controlling parents or grandparents. It is so totally fucked up that a professional woman approaching 30 needs her mother's permission to date someone. The skip button is my friend when the evil mother appears on the screen. I also wish Xu Qin would not be a doormat. Why is it that so many female characters in Chinese dramas are doormats?
