Did you watch "secret"? The same cast, that was good. I wondering why this one is not though?
No, I haven't watched "Secret", but I might give it a look in the future. Also, I'm not saying "Kill Me Heal Me" is a bad show at all. From what I watched of it, I think it deserves the high MDL score it has. It was just the story didn't gel with me right now. Perhaps I'll revisit it in the future.
The show is cute and fluffy. Turn your brain off when you watch it and just enjoy it for what it is. My one complaint with the show is with the casting. The age between the two actors is 2 years and in addition, the male looks very young for his age. So they definitely do not look like they are the same age, even though they are supposed to be. Having a girl who looks so much older than the boy she is pursuing seems a bit awkward to me.
An enjoyable drama. I tend to agree with those people who thought the last few episodes were a little bit rushed, and this drama would have benefited with an extra couple of episodes. I hope that enough people watched this to convince Netflix that Thai GLs are worth buying or funding, because there is a market for them. My score is 8/10.
I watched 5 episodes but it didn't really do it for me. Not sure why I didn't much like it, especially with such a high MDL score. Anyway ... on to the next drama.
that’s because the character he’s playing is monotone….
You seem angry. What YOU are ignoring is that a skilled actor can play a cold, emotionless character without mimicking a cardboard cutout of a person. Unless they are paralysed, there will still be facial expressions and body language. It will be subtle and understated (when playing this sort of character), but it will not be absent. Good actors can do this. Less skilled actors will tend to keep a blank, confused expression on their face the whole time, which is what Yang Yang does for most of this drama. Go to acting school if you want to figure out why you are wrong. You’d see how the professionals do it and stop arguing just to argue. One example of an actor playing a cold, emotionless character brilliantly is Song Joong Ki in the drama "The Innocent Man" https://kisskh.at/4295-the-innocent-man
Quite a good drama - I enjoyed it. Probably more slice of life than Rom Com. If I were to make a criticism, I'd say the episodes were a bit too long. 8.5/10 is my score.
The fact that Korean parents feel entitled to tell their adult children in their 30s who they can date is so very f_cked up. I'm just waiting for the day some bold Kdrama writer is brave enough to have one of their characters tell their parents to mind their own business when they try to control them.
The show is quite enjoyable, but I do find it annoying when writers create events that completely misrepresent reality. Are we really expected to believe that if an aggressive member of the public physically prevented an emergency patient being urgently moved, and was pushed aside by an acquaintance of the patient AFTER he tried to bully the doctor and the acquaintaince, that the doctor present who did exactly nothing wrong would be disciplined by being moved to a less desirable department. Because that is so manifestly unjust, I simply can't believe that would ever happen. This is just a case of writers lacking the creative talent to write a believable sceneario to create the conflict they want to drive the narrative forward.
I have this on my list, but there are some few things I'd like to check: how's the romance? is it just a subplot/minimal?…
The romance is definitely slow burn/subplot/minimal, but it is also central to the plot (if that makes sense). Many happy moments along the journey, with a few sad ones as well, but the ending is definitiely a happy ending. Make sure you seek out and watch the 5 minute epilogue episode.
Crazy how the reviews are so amazing but the comments are so negative-- makes me hesitate before going into it.…
My thoughts: I think this drama is amazing. You can check my list to confirm two things - I RARELY give a perfect 10 to a drama, and I don't watch historical dramas. Yet this drama has captivated me from early on (I'm now on episode 30). I'll be scoring it at least a 9.5, and depending on how the last 10 episodes go, it may be only the second drama ever to score a perfect 10 from me. The slow burn romance between the leads is probably the best I've ever seen. The pacing is close to perfect in my opinion, and there are very few scenes that I'd describe as unecessary. There are a LOT of characters, so have the MDL page open as you watch to help you follow who's who. Costumes, sets, OST and cinematography are all amazing. Yes there are evil characters, doing evil things which makes me I hate them, but our heros (generally) win each battle in the overall war of good verses evil. Usually these wins are timely and not dragged out pointlessly. Sadly, we lose some beloved characters along the journey, but that is just adds emotional impact to the story. I suggest you just start watching it, and you'll know after a few episodes if this drama is for you or not.
every time duke guided her so where is smart or strong lady, and he also used sometimes her so he is no different…
As you will see, it starts out like that. But it soon becomes her using him much more. In fact, it would be more accurate to say that they end up working in partnership, "using" each other to achieve goals that neither of them could have achieved individually. You will discover that Duke Su is a very, very, VERY different man that her ex-husband.
I've seen a lot of dramas with cowardly male leads too scared to confess. Choi Seung Hyo would probably make my list of the top 5 most gutless scaredy-cats. Likewise, I've seen a lot of dramas with female leads who are doormats. Bae Seok Ryu is currently fighting for a place in my top 10 doormats. For some reason, Korean (drama) women seem to stuggle with the word "No" when asked to do something they obviously don't want to do.
The chemistry between the lead characters is next level. It's mostly quite subtle (although not so much when Fang Fei/Jiang Le is drunk), but yet so completely obvious. And it incorporates so much more than physical attraction - there is genuine respect and admiration for each other. The banter, the protectiveness, the trust, the glances, the flirty little touches, the goo-goo eyes ... This is the most satisfying slow burn relationship I've ever seen in a drama.
My score is 8/10.

Sadly no English subs.
