Dropped after 6 episodes. It's not that the show is terrible, but it definitely does show its age. I'm also finding Lee Min Ho's character insufferable - his inability to speak a single clear sentence to immediately remove all the misunderstanding is just so frustrating.
He is definitely rude in the first episode, but it changes immediately after he recognizes her by the end of the…
I watched two episodes and didn't notice any change. Also, it wasn't just rudeness, which wouldn't bother me too much - it was the fact that he was contolling and manipulative. And creepy. Think about when he bought her those lycra clothes to go surprise jogging with him. How did he know what size she was? Did he buy a sports bra for her as well, as many women would feel uncomfortable jogging without one. If so, how did he know her size? If not, then that in itself is creepy. It's just creepy.
Oh the irony of Lee Jin Pyo accusing others of having no conscience after he kidnapped a baby from its mother and lied to the now adult child that his mother abandoned him. Even now, he runs a major international drug production and distribution network is off the charts. Perhaps he should take a look in a mirror.
A big budget, high quality drama. I've previously been critical of Yang Yang's acting, but I thought he was quite good in this. Wang Chu Ran's acting was excellent and Chen Jin was superb as the cold, controlling evil bitch mother. I thought the cinamtography and OST were both very good.
There is a lot of diversity in the various subplots - family drama, medical, fire/rescue, so people will differ in which episodes they prefer. For me, the last half dozen episodes were the strongest in the whole drama. Plenty of tropes scattered through the episodes, but that's to be expected.
Overall, an enjoyable drama. My score would have been 8.5, but the strong final episodes coaxed me to rais its score to 9.
You and many fell short of quick judgement..they edited the story to start from the middle so when they met at…
I realise this is a subjective opinion and I'm generalising very broadly, but I find Japanese dramas are of lower quality than Korean and Chinese dramas, but often feature much weirder and more uncomfortable and cringy plotlines. It's almost like Japanese film makers priority is to shock the viewer, or at least make them uncomfortable, rather than to entertain them.

We find out in episode 14 that he didn't get the girl pregnant, but that doesn't take away from my original point. In my opinion, it was in bad taste for him to play a character even suspected of impregnating a woman one third of his age.

Metaphor obviously. Your comments drip with smugness and are unreasonably combative. You resort to insults readily. Quite frankly, you're not a pleasant person to converse with.

You've expressed your opinions which you're entitled to do and I'm entitled to disagee with them. I'll also point out that you've made inaccurate assumptions about my beliefs and consequently have reached inaccurate conclusions about them. It seems probable that you're not interested in mature, nuanced conversation, preferring to build a strawman that you can shake your fist at .

I'm just going to agree to disagree with you here. You point out that in some movies, there are characters who don't embrace societal norms regarding crime, but movies almost universally portray such behaviours as negative. For example, there are usually authorities trying to stop the offender and/or victims who are hurt by the offender. Again, you seem to have missed my point. My issue is not with the behaviour being portrayed - but whether an unacceptable behaviour is portrayed as acceptable. I reject your implied clarvoyance or ability to remotely psychoanalyse me and my "hangups". You know nothing about me including if I'm eager to find a new BF to rape me. BTW, my wife won't let me have a boyfriend, especially rapey ones. Good god, densitude isn't a word.

You've completely missed the point. The issue is not that the drama showed a date rape scene. The issue is that the writers portrayed it as being acceptable. Murder and crime aren't acceptable to me, but I have no problem these activities being included in dramas. However, I would have a problem with a writer who decided to show murder and crime as being acceptable. How could you possibly know what the writer, director or producer care about?
Casting https://kisskh.at/people/2650-lee-kyung-young as a character who is suspected of getting a girl young enough to be his granddaughter pregnant is (in my opinion) in bad taste, considering he was charged and convincted of statutory rape for having sex with a minor.
In terms of production, this is easily the best Thai GL made to date. The cinematography was excellent, as was the acting. The story followed the original novels quite closely, however I think this drama didn't get the pacing right, with the story often progressing too slowly. But the novels themselves were also quite slow in developing the story. "Blank" still is my favourite Thai GL, but "The Loyal Pin" probably now sits at my #2. My score: 8.5/10
An excellent crime melodrama (with a sprinkling of romance). Lawyer Oh Soo Jae begins as a highly skilled lawyer, but a very terrible person. She goads a (probable) rape victim to (apparently) commit suicide and is completely indifferent when that woman does (apparently) commit suicide. But in the course of the drama, she grows as a person, eventually becoming a more decent human being, while (also eventually) outsmarting her enemies who are even more terrible than her. I thought that Seo Hyun Jin and Heo Joon Ho were the standout actors, but the acting across the board was very good. This drama is not a simple watch, with so many characters and a spiderweb of interconnected subplots and events. You need to pay attention, and probably consult the Cast MDL page regularly while watching. Some commenters have criticised the romance subplot, even suggesting it should not have been included. In my opinion, it played an important role in the drama, but I think it could have been done much better. I guess I didn't find all aspects of it believable. I also thought the final episode wasn't done as well as it could have been. All the evidence conclusively proving the guilt of Choi Tae Gook was just way too convenient, and far too easily obtained. Lastly, there was (for me) insufficient closure in the last episode, with the fates of the three main antagonists, Choi Tae Gook, Han Seong Beom and Lee In Soo, not adequately explained. Likewise, not explaining the fates of the three men who raped Kang Eun Seo was also unsatisfying for me. But overall, a very good drama: 8.5/10.
