It is definitely on Netflix Australia. If you genuinely cannot watch it legally in your country, then the alternative is to watch it on an "unofficial" streaming platform such as kisskh.
It's a high quality drama, but it is hard to watch. Endless suffering, torture, murder followed up by some more suffering, torture and murder. If you watch dramas to feel good afterwards, then give this one a miss. This drama is dark.
second lead is Tanya Zhao, while I was looking for information it said she was 25 years old
I have also heard that she is 25, although I don't know her DOB. I submitted a MDL page for Tanya Zhao about three weeks ago, and have not yet heard anything back. I assume my submission is still sitting in a queue somewhere.
Why the ratings are so low? Is it because of fayeyoko fans down voting or the show is flopping?
First I'd say that 7.9 is not "so low", but I agree it is a lower than what the show deserves. I'm hopeful the show will end up in the low 8's when it is done. Lots of viewers don't score a drama until its finished. I do suspect that there would be at least some Yoko fans downvoting the show, but of course there's no way of knowing how many. From what I've seen so far, the show is pretty good. I'm currently scoring it at 8.5. It certainly isn't flopping - episodes are getting about three quarters of a million views each.
It's cute, but the plot is very thin, especially the first 6 episodes. There just isn't much happening and there are too many filler scenes that seem to exist solely to extend the runtime. The actors did an adequate job, but the plot didn't present them with any opportunity to showcase their acting skills. Graphics and sound effects were overused. If you just want to see cute and fluffy, and don't care about the plot, then you might enjoy this. If you are after an engaging plot, tension, drama etc., then this drama probably isn't for you. 7/10.
My most hated trope is all of drama land is noble idiocy. I didn't realise when I started watching this drama that it has noble idiocy as a central plot point in the second half of the drama. If I knew this, I would have never started watching it. Even though I didn't enjoy the episodes during the noble idiocy years, and did a fair bit of skipping to get through them, I thought that overall the drama was pretty good, especially the first half.
I know my opinion here will be unpopular, but I want to see Faye paired with an actress who’s as old as she…
I suspect that Faye chose a younger actress to work with because of the success of "Blank", and the fact that the age gap was generally popular with her fans. Personally I am a fan of age gap dramas, so I support the decision by Faye to work with Atom.
Lee Jang Hyeon is a contradiction. He openly professes his interest in Yoo Gil Chae, and does much to help her, usually in secret, but then he is happy to regularly embarrass and humiliate her. In my mind, a person does not, and would not ever knowingly embarrass or humiliate a person they genuinely loved. My conclusion is that he is physically attracted to her, and is keen to be "physical" with her, but her doesn't love or respect her.
