I guess I'm the only one who is mentioning Eun Taek and Bo Ra here. I want to see some development with those two as well pls don't make them into complimentary characters.
Your passionate review absolutely convinced me to add this drama to my plan to watch list. I know that feeling…
Thank you so much for taking the time to read it and for feeling my passion for it. I'm glad I convinced you to add it I hope you'll understand and enjoy it the way I do ^^
I cried with her on the group project grade. So many times that has happened to me, I really love the depiction…
I like the professor here and her way of taking actions what she did in that scene was right on spot! You may think its mean she was only telling the truth it was easier for the girl to do all the work than force the students and nag them to do their share too. Everything that professor has said is right on spot I wish I had a professor who cared enough to teach me a lesson.
I am trying really hard to like this... but I am just bored and annoyed to death. There is no plot for me - the…
I understand why would you feel this way that's the way I feel with most Rom-Com. However there is something very attractive about this one (which always the case with TVnetworks). You Jung is this drama's mystery and charm I guess so I'm hoping that doesn't change. I always see bad comments about female characters like her in other dramas but in this drama everyone is liking her and justifying her actions lol no idea why they are being so acceptable this time (wish it's the case with every drama).
I like this drama so far (I've seen the first two eps) but i just can't bring myself to understand how is it normal…
Hey past, you keep saying manhwa there is a difference between manhwa and webtoon this is a webtoon. It matters for me because I'm a manhwa fan not a webtoon fan.
I started reading the manhwa quite some time ago so can someone confirm this: Is the scene where Jung "saves"…
Yes this scene is there but Jung didn't encourage the guy to do so, on the contrary he threatened him if he ever did that again. I guess they change things it's not 100% same. Now that you've mentioned it that would have been much more interesting.
Well, for me there are tons of female characters that I enjoyed in K dramas. In this drama I'm enjoying Bo Ra and In Ha as female characters. It's just preference and honestly Yoo Jung is outshining everyone.
I don't mean her style or her appearance I meant her personality nothing different about her, so far she can't express herself well and she's nice I've seen that before.
WOW Nick what a provoking review (and I mean it in a good way). Congratulations to you I wouldn't know how to defend a drama I loved the way you did. I enjoyed every word and every second I spent reading it.
Even though I haven't watched it yet but I feel your review is doing this drama some justice, I won't comment about others reviews I will just say one thing to those who decided to stay away from the cast of this drama (Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Ji Woo) YOUR LOSS!!
Loved your last paragraph because it was right on spot!! I've seen people bashing the ones who watched and loved this drama and I think it is no one's right to do so no matter how much you hated the drama it's none of your business if someone else loved it you have no right to speak ill of someone because of that!!
I completely agree with you that Joo Won was probably the perfect person to cast for the role of Yong Pal & that…
Thank you!! You took the words right from my mouth I couldn't have expressed my frustration any better. Hands down Joo Won is the best thing in this drama.
Still wondering whether to watch this or not because Soo Ae is the main lead actress (I hated her acting in Mask)…
I can differentiate between my hatred towards a character or a performance and in Soo Ae's case its both. I have nothing against her personally I just don't appreciate her acting regardless of how unlikeable the character is I don't think she's a good actress. I understand that you like her but that's just my opinion I hope you understand mine as well :)
I love this show! I've watched it a few times already and everytime I still fall in love with Gi Dongs and Mí…
I agree this is a good Rom-Com, I'm surprised there are no written reviews about it. I want to write one but I'm hesitant to do so. The reason is I watched this drama years ago (about 7 years) and thought I remember the backbone story I don't remember the details :(
Someone has to write a review for this one!
I made the mistake of looking at the comments on Dramafever and it really discouraged me because I also loved…
I know exactly how you feel. It pains me when I see such a WONDERFUL drama unappreciated and in Bubblegum case it's severely unappreciated tbh. I read your review before I wrote mine actually and loved it very much I also loved your article about this drama. Thank you for loving this wonderful drama the way I did and thank you for reading and appreciating my review.
If this was your point then I completely agree. I never mentioned rating a drama a 10 solely for an actor, but I would finish a drama for one not because "I love him" because I'd love his performance (ex. Gap Dong). I really appreciate actors who can impress me enough to make me finish a drama with bad plot because he/she is excelling. I would start a drama for an actor who has credibility with me just like I would start a drama for a plot even if the actor sucks. I understand your point as it bothers me that overhyped dramas are always on top page.
Edit** rating a drama solely for an actor performance is not always wrong believe it or not sometimes worth it and completely reasonable (an actor performance can take on the whole show even if the plot isn't good).
I never said you said he is not a good actor, my point was very clear "he has earned this credibility". There is nothing wrong with watching for the cast or the plot or for both. Good cast is always a plus and in this case LJ is more than enough (this guy with bad plots can stand out that's my point I'm not sure what's funny about that).
I loved this show very much, when it was airing it was the only drama at that time that I was actually looking forward to every week for new eps. It came after long list of disappointments so I was so happy that I actually found something I wait eagerly for and anticipate. As I was watching I thought I will eventually rate it high because I really liked the issue they were presenting (Loan sharks and their shadows). Usually in almost every drama there is the "loan shark" issue but not as main issue not in this way. Also I never knew about the shadows so I was really excited for this. Moreover I loved the way they were slowly peeling the story and revealing things every ep. However, at some point it turned into searching for the girl more than "loan sharks" which disappointed me as I loved that part very much. I still enjoyed the drama to the very end but I can't deny that this has indeed disappointed me it doesn't make the drama any less impressive it just not what I wished for. The thing that made me decide to rate it 8 not higher is the ending, it wasn't bad it just wasn't right imo. That was another thing that "slightly" disappointed me, maybe it's not the drama's fault maybe my expectation was higher I don't know.
As for Lee Si Young I agree I loved this actress and she never disappointed me, I'm very glad someone took it the way I did "it's the character not the actor". She wasn't given much screen time SHE WASN'T MAIN and that's one of the things that ruined this drama's image for me. Why? because the way I saw it they used her name to boost the drama's image and popularity, I have no problem with her having less screen time but they should have been HONEST about it!! To use someone in this way is really not acceptable, I don't know how they convinced her to do it they basically used her (This drama is Kim Mu Yeol's first main lead and Go Sung Hee's second, they are both considered new in terms of leading a drama you see what I mean?).
As for Kim Mu Yeol's acting absolutely FLAWLESS I even nicknamed him Korea's 007 lol.
Go Sung Hee's acting was decent here, it's the character that I didn't really like because she was contradicting herself running away from him to protect when she knows he will search for her and is willing to put his life on stake for that. To me she was selfish and she is the one who was putting him in danger by selfishly hiding and running.

I will start it now thank you Nick :)
