Yes, you're right. That doesn't make her character any less annoying, but I appreciate you reminding me of the reality of the context of her character.
No, all you did was tell me that I told everyone incorrect information about CWD, which I didn't, then proceeded to tell me why WJG wasn't "an angel", which I never claimed he was, but compared to CWD..... well, CWD made everyone else's character look perfect in comparison. His "grand scheme", his actions, everything he did was villainous.
You can't convince me that not being able to keep your word is as big a flaw as kidnapping, assault, threatening with a weapon, blackmail, and putting the one you purport to love in harm's way by starting a war that wasn't even necissary, just because you don't want to marry someone.
By your estimation, WJG should have done what CWD did and start a war instead of sacrificing himself to keep those around him safe. Very similar situation both the MLs found themselves in, but very different actions taken.

Either way, you might want to check on your conclusions, because nothing the other characters, flawed as they might be, did can even slightly compare in severity to what the ML did, no matter how you might decide to downplay it by saying the FL and ML had a "frenemy" relationship.

The way they wrote MX as a character in this drama was fantastic, and the chemistry and love between MX and WJG was extremely well written. Their interactions were so natural.
But after they spent most of the episodes getting MX and WJG together as soulmates, they then proceeded to give the victimized MX to her abuser. This is something I can't pardon. I wouldn't normally care this much about a drama series.... I don't think I've ever cared this much about a drama series before, but MX got to me.

He was supposed to be winning MX's affections as his fiance at that time, so either he lied to make her feel worse about being forced to be his fiance than she already felt, or he was telling the truth. Either way, can you say that all the other horrific things he's done to her didn't happen? No, you can't, so by your estimation, we can add liar to his list of villainous behaviour.

Even if he stood up to his parents, it wouldn't have made a difference, as the emperor forced him to marry BFY. If Wu Yin hadn't sabotaged his plans, he could have asked the emperor to marry him to Mo Xi after the battle was won.
I love Mo Xi more than 99% of female leads. She might even be my favourite FL of all. She is so relatable, smart, beautiful, and resourceful even without having received a formal education. Despite her harsh life, she's grown to be a really good, kind, and intelligent person, and she's only 17! She's just such a great character that deserved so much better than she got.

He has abused her emotionally with threatening to marry her best friend so that she is forced to become his hostage. He later literally kidnapped her as well! He did nothing but put MX in harm's way over and over again, yet people are rooting for him. MX is nothing but his slave, and he already has a harem of wives!! Has anyone actually been following the story? He is nothing but a villain with a sob story.

WJG did nothing but his best, as a general without a lot of war experience. If CWD and MX end up together, as they will, then the victim is given to her abuser.
