Going out on a limb to recommend the following series that I believe you will love cos it seems we have similar…
Story of Yanxi was my gateway show into C Dramas. Though, there's only so many ways to kill a baby, and they sure explored all of them during those.... I think 80... episodes.
Ever Night. I've been avoiding because I know I will end up wanting to kill that particular baby (the FL) myself.
The Crowned Clown is a gripping and unnerving treasure.
Not all my reviews are about how bad these dramas are. I'm sure I've endorsed some dramas with glowing reviews as well. There are definitely ones worth watching, like "A Dream of Splendor", to think of a somewhat recent one.
Yes... I mean when you see someone else in a role its hard to imagine someone else when they made a deep impact…
Yes. I also wanted to point out that Na In Woo's version of On Dal was played as someone who didn't know very much about the world. The fact that he wasn't cultured and lived a simple life was emphasized in order to create a contrast between him and the FL, and the SML. Na In Woo's On Dal was innocent and not the sharpest tool in the box.
Ji Soo's On Dal was smarter and more savvy, which then doesn't leave as much of a contrast between him and the other main characters. It's entirely dependant on your personal taste, but I can't relate to a simple farmer personality as well as a smart, savvy survivor main lead, which is why I preferred Ji Soo's interpretation and wanted to talk about the character differences on here.
I can’t believe you drag Zhao Lusi’s name in your review! If you do review to the main character don’t drag…
I'm allowed to say whatever I want about a celebrity you haven't even met. I don't "drag", I compare. Also, just because a person can physically do something, doesn't mean they can do it well.
Stop worshipping celebrities to the extent that you become intolerant of legitimate criticism about them.
I know, right! Such a beautiful passion project of a drama, with the best cast possible!
She's the best Chinese actress. I really wish she was cast as the FL more often. She can do both comedy and drama equally well, and looks the part. So much better than most FL actresses in Chinese dramas.
His name is Jang Kang. He didn't die in the body. He switched back. He was to weak to do so he called his pupil…
Oh. LOL. Oooops. Guess I got excited too early. I don't really like flashbacks. I don't like prequels for the same reason. Don't really want to know about the past, if the story is about the present.
I completely agree with you. The characters are so underdeveloped. Also, Naksu taking over Mu-deok's body without any care as to the soul whose body she took over. She doesn't really have any real empathy, at least from what I saw, and it made me dislike her from the start.
They just dumped a bunch of names and events in narration in the first 2 episodes, and expected us to remember them all. There isn't a single character to connect with. I connected to the very first body-swapping mage in episode one, as he was forced to do something he didn't want to, but then they just introduced us to a bunch of characters that weren't very interesting, or their goals weren't something that an audience could connect with on an emotional level.

I liked Jang Kang a lot. I know that we can't have a popular drama about characters that aren't in their 20's anymore, but I was a little bit disappointed that the story just ditched the guy for the usual younger characters.

Perfect! Thanks so much! Just don't have time to renavigate everyone, and I kind of skipped through a lot, not that it wasn't interesting, but I have a hard time continuing a drama where they dump a bunch of names and characters on you all at once, and you are supposed to remember them all. Also, I tend to skip narration.
Can someone please clarify something about Ep. 1 for me, please?
The wizard guy who switched bodies with the dying king, he is bleeding out of his mouth after he switches, and... did he die in the body?? That was one hell of an asshole king if he murdered Mr. Wizard just as he was dying.
Also, can someone give me the name of Mr. Wizard? Watched 2 episodes, took a long break, don't really have time to rewatch those 2 to figure things out.
I disagree that she is passive (I am also biased because I read the novel). She is weak physically and can only…
I've seen this FL in a handful of dramas. Regardless of the writing, she just doesn't have the depth an actress needs in order to draw out a rounded character performance. Cute is her one and only shtick.
*Yu lackeys, you don't need to be a totalitarian army of oppressors on here, just because you are fanatical over some celebrity you don't personally know.**
That was NOT my stance behind my opinion! That was simply a statement for people to stop harassing me because I have a different opinion than them. Why I mentioned my career, is simply to clarify that I wrote my review based on my objective opinion, not because I am or am not a fan of someone. Also, that people can choose not to read my review if they are going to choose to be offended by my opinion, just like you.
If you had bothered to actually read my review, instead of making up random shit about it, and posting it publicly as some kind of perverse warning against my opinion, you would have maybe understood that.
In future, don't even read the beginning of a review that you have a "problem" with, instead of going out of your way to insult someone, just because they might have a different opinion than you.
