👍🏻agreed. It was also the angsty part of the whole story where TingYan has a change in personality and you see less of her salted fish. Then we have a more irritating SML and third wheeler that seems to want to prove that his love supersede SimaJiao’s love for FL. lol!

Hahahah…I think it’s hard to explain as it will be like a lot of story telling. But those scenes you mentioned have a context. Firstly, when he decided to marry her, as a Taoist practioner, he would have to disown his sect, hence he has to go through that trial. It’s not that he is doing it for her, it’s a choice he made if he needs to get married. Nothing she can do to help him. Then the same time he almost died, there is. context to it too. If you selectively read certain post here, I don’t think it’s really helpful to understand the story. Best to watch it then decide whether is this for you. Your choice. ;).
