Based on this story logic, If you noticed in that scene, WZ was already accidentally being attacked by the evil infant and the core was trapped in WZ’s body and almost dying because she is a human. So the cat lord in order to save her life, transferred his core to her and made her half demon and also in order to seal the evil infant core in WZ. Hence she can never be a full demon because of the evil infant core. So MZY took back the evil infant core and anyway he could handle as he is half demon with his father’s blood. WZ is relief of the agony and can fully transformed into a cat demon.

MZY uses the ChangXi secret machine to travel back to the day his parents died as he wants to find a cure for WZ. Then he went to the moment that his mom just passed and he saw his own younger self, then he consoled himself (I love this scene). Them he went to the fire site to find the little WZ talking to previous Cat demon lord which he can’t recognise but his younger self could and he realised it was his father. He saw his father sealed the evil infant core into WZ and also sacrifice his life to give WZ half demon form so she can survive. Then WZ woke up and realised she was full demon (which will be explain in later scene that MZY decided to take the evil infant core away and into himself, hence he went into coma). So WZ went back to demon world to investigate what happened and revealed that ZiShu was the one creating chaos, and when she show him that she was cured and showed her full demon form, her intention was to capture him, but he chooses to attack her and while she deflected the attack, he took on the blow intention to die. And he told her his work is done for her as now she is full demon, she doesn’t need him anymore (which IMO, he should have live and be punished for his messy deeds he done). But well🤷🏻♀️. MZY after absorbing the evil infant core, awaken his half demon form as he is cat demon son. So final ep will be the finale;) Hope this help. Hmmm…I agreed that normally second season will often screw up the story. I guessed we can fill those gap by reading the novels or leave it as it is. Most dramas tend to have plotholes unanswered and most of it here, are forgivable to me, as they at least try to tell a coherent story;).

FL is a strong character and at the final arc, she did want to push him away in fear of affecting him. While ML also wanted to save FL and he also make some major decision that put his life in danger. Won’t reveal too much unless you want spoiler;).

IMO, I find the romance is good here. The 3CPs all have great chemistry. The ML is a Taoist by practice, so he was slow in expressing his love. It’s a love at first sight for both and FL being a demon, boldly chases after him. There is slight complication in their relationship because of their background, but resolved quite nicely;). Enjoy!
Based on the synopsis, this seems to be business orientated family drama. There is no romance tag, so Ryan is a side character, the focus is on the main FL.
