Its part of the legend for the Hu Kingdom, that the barrier is set by ancestor to protect the kingdom and when the new King and his Empress ascend to throne, the barrier will automatically disappear…hahaha. Thats the XianXia logic, unable to question it. lol!

I interprete it as SimaJiao came to this world filled with angsty, hatred, suffered and almost always planning ways to end his life till he met TingYan, who brought him joy and love. So they have many sweet moments that even though at the mortal arc, she has to go, as TingYan says, he now has three lifetimes of their memories to live as mortal and live for her. It’s poetic to me, although sad.

I truly enjoyed this drama, love everything about it, especially Arthur’s SimaJiao and Wang YingLu’s Liao TingYan . I will probably feel empty for a while and eagerly waiting for Arthur’s next show. Meantime will be re-watching some of the scenes.

Yes, that’s the sad part for SimaJiao, in the end in mortal, he still lives alone. He is truly tragic. I can imagine he probably will spend rest of his life searching for TingYan😭😭😭.

Hahahah…yeah they should have give us more of their chemistry at mortal arc, it will be fun to watch😓.

To my understanding, if without the spirit fire, she will be already corrupted by the demon core, however because of his sacrifice, her demon core was stabilized. Then in mortal arc, YouYan used magic to activate the demon core again. TingYan didnt really have the experience of SimaJiao to use the spirit fire as cure, so hence she has to try using it to contain the core. But as her teacher says, she may died from the spirit fire too.

The demon arc may be harder to watch because of the angsty part, but it’s important. I don’t recommend skipping it;)

Ep32…so SimaJiao has a way to regain his memories…brillant!

TingYan flirting with Emperor SimaJiao…and when NianJiu come and visit, and TingYan make him sleep. NianJiu just look at him and called out, “Grandmaster!” in so longingly way. That TingYan responded, “he is not dead.” That scene I find it so funny…well captured! Kudos to director!
