Just read up on the actress who played leopard, Clara Lee who is Korean and British. So why can’t they have her dub her own dialogue. Her VA sounds weird and why does she have to speak Mandarin. She is from a rich family, I am sure they can let her have a nice Bristish accent and LR can speaks English to her. Anyway they met in that country with many races. I wonder why they need to speak Mandarin and not other languages.

This type of patriarchy culture still happens in Chinese and Asia country. Children even they are grown up and as adults, they still have to seek elders opinion indecision making, to them it’s a sign of respect and distorted views of filial piety. Because BY is being taken care by their Uncle and Aunty, her parents will have to continue to send money back, it’s an indirect bullying in the family. It still happens, in some family, it’s not just in the drama.

Sure, the book was narrated from FL’s perspectives, so hardly see ML’s view but I think the drama gives us more of ML’s emotional struggles.

Agreed and I want epilogue too with the ending🤩🤩🤩.

So far they have make some changes in the sequence of the event comparing to the novel. I like how the story is told here in this drama, giving ML more involvement.

I can’t recall from the front chapters which chapter is it that was mentioned about BeiYu’s age. But you can read the re-cap at the last chapter 61, where FL mentioned it again how her sister ends her life at age 20 but for her(FL), she decides to make a new decision which is to contact ML.

The actress does looks older. I won’t spoil you further, but she definitely didn’t die from the medical condition. It’s a huge secret that the family keeps.

Ep 28 is mainly Leopard lady calling LR out alone and used Tasha (fake, reborn and lost memory) to shoot him. Hus friend save him and sent to hospital. And again she so easily walk into his walk and threatened him beside his bed to ask him to find a phoenix key tool (supposing can unite the relics so she can use the power). And through brainstorming, the groups discovered the key to find that tool is in MD’s teacher’s room and so they found that the secret is at sect’s ancestral burial ground, so they proceed to search. Then on the other end, we see Leopard lady acting dramatic and telling MD’s her intention🤦🏻‍♀️. hahahah…I am just dissatisfied with this ep. We need the release and move the plot already, I am prepared with what’s happening, the ending will be rush.

Yes, that over the top, dramatic villian portrayal became so repetitive, that I am skipping her scenes. lol!

Ep 28 is so daunting and draggy…what’s leopard doing? She talks too much. Throw a bait then release then throw a bait and..,🤦🏻‍♀️. She really talks too much.

Very nice summary. You captured the gist of the whole story;) Hopefully we get to see the epilogue here. I do wonder where this drama story will end. This drama definitely change some sequence of event but still stay true to the essence of the story. I read that their last scene is at the beach…hmmm.

Yes, quite sad. Although the society can be more liberal and education has been spread, but some of these unhealthy family tradition still has its roots in modern family. And fortunately there are more resources available IG they want to seek help.

If since birth, you have been told your existence is to work hard and support the family, your elders told you that being a girl is not as important as being a boy, girls don’t need to be educated and girls only goal is to grow up and find a good family to marry off. And after marriage, you serve your husband and his family, bear him a son so can carry on family name. You have no voice and even you feel injustice, as a woman, you learn to tolerate and move on. You serve the family name and never yourself, you can never have a voice for yourself as Thats consider rebellious and unfillial or yoy will be disowned and abandoned. So living in such oppress and suppress environment, one can only learn to survive by wearing a mask. She is generally hurting a lot deep inside, lots of greviances but no support, hence she has so much somatic pain on her body. Our body keeps score, she just not aware and didnt realise she could fight back. This is how it is for women back in those times. She is also a victim.

They are supposing alien life form from meteor many years ago, and for century people had find ways to suppress them, so I guess the current five have been selected to do this tasks. Hope it’s not too much of a spoiler. I didn’t read the novel, but it’s so far I gathered from the current ep and from some novel readers. Enjoy;).
