I am so intrigued that I finished the novel at one go. Wow! The novel is good IMO, hope this drama adaptation keeps to its essence. I doubt this drama can show explicitly what happen to BeiYu, but she has a sad life.
Both Zhou YiRan and Zhang JingYi are very suitable for the leads role.

Note that this whole phase is set at their adolescent stage, so romance will be very very tone down. But their chemistry is good.

Yes, in this drama, they show that MIngShen was playing piano and QingYu was dancing in another room. It was attraction at first sight. I don’t think he really know Qiao BeiYu but as he was noticing QingYu, he could have find out about BeiYu as BeiYu is popular and use it as an excuse to talk to QingYu. In the novel there was another scene, I am not sure they will show it here. We shall see.

It’s common in drama for older actors to act in younger roles. Instead of just looking at their actual age, you should watch the show and then decide whether do they act well. IMO, they both doing very well for their roles even though their actual age are older.
