It’s a sequel. It will pick up from the cliff hanger ending after season 1 where FL fell into the frozen lake.

Oh, that series has part 1 and 2, love his villian SML role in part 2 where he was obsessed with FL. That’s the first time I watched him in grey roles;).

Yup, that’s my speculation and guess too as many hints dropped that this guy exist in her modern timeline but we didn’t get to see his face. Modern XiaoLan is too pre-occupied with her struggles to notice him, but he is alway around.😍

No problem. It’s a very nicely written script. If you noticed in the beginning ep., FL did try to search for her modern parents in the 80s timeline, and she couldn’t find them as they don’t exist in the 80s timeline, so she knows it a separate timeline. It’s also witty how this script ended it with a dream, so hence people in her dream could be all fictional, except we know a guy name Zhou Chen existed. Perhaps he has always been her crush in modern timeline but she wasn’t aware.

Nope…there is another Zhou Chen who is always around her in her timeline without her realizing it.
They were never on the same timeline.
