The downplay ML’s character as compare to the novel. He is suppose to have more brutal, aggressive mixed with hidden passion and quite hard to read. But I realised that this is afterall a ROM-Com, so lowering my expectation and not compare it to novel ML and trying to enjoy this;)

I do agree with your points. Being a novel reader for this story. I initially like how they have re-written FL’s character. They downplayed Wei Yan and ML too. I do missed the aggressive passion, the darker version comparable to Ling BuYi. 🤷🏻‍♀️
But alas, I lower my expectation and trying to enjoy this as this is afterall a Rom Com.

Song Wei Long is really charming here as JiangXu, especially when he is in all black and manly facial hair😍.

I really like Bao Shang En as Ming Tan, felt she nails it and truly make her believable as a noble girl.

I know ep 16-17 had gave us fluffiness between the leads….but am I missing something here? Suddenly FL wants to travel with ML and initiate to be closed to him, so she has fallen for him? When?, I didn’t realise that😅. Thought she is still only doing her part as a partner to him.

Hmmm.,. interesting point. Not intending to offfend, to me Liu Yu Ning as ML is not the most handsome type (personal opinion). But he does have charisma being funny and earnest. However here this ML’s character has been showing more arrogant side and rude, so I cannot imagine woman can fall for him.🤷🏻‍♀️ But again beauty is the eye of beholder, so maybe in close proximity, FL discover ML’s beauty.🧐

This one has very happy ending, they have kids and ML became Emperor. But we always don’t know how drama script likes to change it’s ending. So let’s hope it stays the same as novel.

🙌🏻I have similar comments yesterday when I watched ep 16-17, asking have I missed anything? How did FL suddenly seems to like him, or infactuated with him and wanted to be closed to him🤣😅. I understand that she is touch by his action but suddenly, become a little obsessed with ML.?🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel it’s this actor and how he portrayed the character. I didn’t feel so when I read the novel. They change a bit of the event here. I am glad Wei Yan chose to stay and guard the Wei family.

She is just very simple and self centred, but she doesn’t have a bad heart, however definitely not smart and easily manipulated. I believe she will learn to like FL more and more without her prejudice.

I know, just feel that whether actors or actresses, they should really have a little more meat, they can look rather malnourished.😓
