This is as many c-dramas, after the set up of characters, they have to go dumb it down to drive the plot. Everyone seems to be dumb down from recent ep.🤣

As many c drama I have seen recently, this drama has its good moments and probalematic areas especially in some plot points and characterization. But overall it’s enjoyable watch.
Great to see Zhang Wan Yi in this role, his acting shine; and also refreshing to see Wang Chu Ran took on this grey role, can see that she puts effort to make this role believable.
The main CP’s chemistry is believable, I would have preferred to see the development of the Emperor and Empress. The second CP didn’t really creates any spark for me, feels like fillers.
The political plots were a ‘touch and go and resolved as quickly as it comes’. The main drag was the relationship of the main CP story. I still feel that this whole drama was deliberately slowed down especially when they talked, maybe it’s me.
I felt that this drama can probably completed in 20 over ep and no need to drag to 40ep.
But that’s my opinion, happy watching to all and delightful to chat with like minded people here.;) cya around.

Hahhaha…they have no sense of urgency, stuck there and Wu Xie insisted to know the truth of the Zhang’s brothers dispute. Would thought leaving and finding a way out more crucial at this point. I really hope series give us a proper ending and not a cliffhanger like the previous.

To response to your qns: Chris was her co-worker in Giáp, he did mention that he knew why she took gap year, but reason hasn’t been revealed. We are not sure if it’s related to her Ex. or relationship or other issues. We also don’t know her timeline when she was engage to her fiancé, but that definitely happened while she was working in Giáp. So more to reveal in later episode.
The pregnancy, child loss are all hypothesis by commenters and I don’t think it’s the case. But we all like to overthink;)

I really can relate with FL’s father as I know of a family like that. Wife constantly temperamental and tendency to be loud and dismissive of her husband, even though she deeply love her husband, she just couldn’t stop her outburst, the husband is just constantly tolerance. This is so realistic.

The handling of Emperor ZiYu, CXZ and LMT’s relationship was easily done and speedy reconciled. No drag.
