I agreed with you. There maybe familiar tropes in this drama. However the different is the execution of plot and storyline with characters’ growth. Here is done quite smoothly and transition of the revealed of the characters’ backstory were quite nicely told. We can see already with so few ep the contrast of ML vs FL’s family and how their childhood relationship. ML has always been brought up in aloof, distance parenting style where he hardly shows or able to show his affection, and only with FL, he feels comfortable. He has the crush but he also didn’t confess and they both grew up having their separate love lived till they met again and learnt how they were always so closely connected to each other and care for each other. Love to see their development.

So we have ML confirming his feelings but going to hide it. Hope we get to see FL’s feelings and perspectives too. She is so focus on work brain and self searching at the moment.;)

Agreed that casting is so crucial, probably that’s why some of us can’t feel their chemistry. But the rest of the casts are so far so good.;)

Wu Xie and Zhang Qi Lin have a strong intuitive chemistry that they can sense each other so well.

I agreed with you, the initial set up on both main leads’ character were good then as the ep progresses, FL seems to be dumb down and ML seems to loose his grey and coolness and become more love brain. I wish they have maintain the consistency.

I am liking An XiuYi’s character, thought he is really hardworking, responsible and kept being misunderstood.

And food will connect her with her father, nice touch in this plot.

My guess, FL can be a chef like her father who owns a restaurant. I was right, she is exploring this.

When LMT confronted her MIL, for a moment thought she will cough blood and faint, but gladly she toughened up and saw the goodness of her DIL.😅 And we got our wedding with CXZ, flirting non-stop with FL. The girls have their parties and the boys have nothing…hmmm.

The script says so and I also find it’s a lame reason when Yuan Mo said that he likes A Shu’s because she is different. That’s such a convenient reason, of love at first sight, guess YM has very limited exposure to women at his workplace.😅
