can someone tell me the context of the first episode ? im really confuse right now
Actually if you didn’t watch the previous series of this drama is also okay, as when you watch on, this drama will slowly explain some of the back story and relationships through flashback. Although it’s definitely easier if you watch Ultimate Note, which was most related since this is the sequel after that.
Having all the hypothetical theories make the waiting less dragging but spoilt the fun of this drama. As all theories are our interpretation and may not be the case for this drama. So all these depressing theories on FL’s sabbatical leave and how the ending will be are all overthinking thoughts. So I am going to take a break from here and come back end of the week when the show airs again. I really enjoy this and wants to savour every ep as it is;)
Zhang Nian was sus from the beginning but I was surprised by adult Zhang Jiuri. Something bad must’ve happened…

The beginning set up of the characters (ML mysterious and grey; FL smart and assertive), were good and the first few case solving was fun to watch, showing FL’s talent…but surely like any C drama plot, the two leads were dumb down and it became plot driven because the script say so. I started enjoying but now disappointed and contemplating of dropping it.
I knew it was him the moment he said he found the chessboard.

Kang didn’t actually find the horse, I can’t remember the episode but A Shu said that the horse wondered through…
Ah I recalled something of him finding the chess board and horse, thought it was Kang that found the horse. Thanks;) Probably have to revisit that conversation again.
Yup, as my guess A Shu’s uncle is Envoy Kang, he found ML’s horse, found the chessboard and of course will find the Princess…and A Shu had led others and herself in danger again. Sigh.
I could bear with the FL’s low EQ and immaturity since she was at least good at her investigation. But in ep…
The set up of both characters were good in the beginning, but of recent ep., I just felt the script dumb both of them down just to drive the plot. I can’t get by ep 15 😓. I will likely come back again sometime later to continue this.
Hahaha…that’s unusual that you haven’t watch YanXi Palace, thought that will be in your radar😅. But it does require preparation to watch serious palace politics. I may try The First Shot too, but never really manage to finish any Huang Jingyu’s drama. lol! Cya there, if I tried.;)
