In the older version, Yang Kang’s character is grey, complex, scheming and normally his actions and words may be contradicting but not obvious what he is thinking.

This version is a cliff notes of the story, touch and go on the main plot, but I don’t see depth in character as they don’t have time to show much here.

I don’t remember him wearing a mask in 1983 version. Will review again on the ep. I thought he knew she was blind because she practice only half of the skills and since she has no guidance, she was a little messed up in her Yin Qi.
